Japanese automotive like this really know how to compete with the Europeans. They're luxurious and at the same time very simple not too complex like the BMWs, Mercedes, and Audis. European luxury cars have complicated and overrated techs nowadays which loses their reliability. Lexus might be boring to some but their reliability is above it all. Lexus will be my first car I have no doubt about it as they really prove their worth!

Beautiful. This car is a rolling work or art and design. This makes the BMW 7 Audi A8 and Benz look full in comparison.
LOVELY video as usual, great work. This new Ls is top of the class right now, you didn't even talk about a lot luxury convenience features it has not on any of the competition but I understand not enough time to dwell on that. The Map though has a Google earth view available so u can get far better detailed graphics as well. The design of this interior beats everything the Germans have to offer with the new A8's bland interior and the 7 series conventional style. The S class is its closest competitor but that doesn't have glass or pleats all hand crafted which takes this car to a new level of detailing and craftsmanship. This car lacks several options i must say, no panoramic roof, no rear entertainment HD screens, no two tone colour leather configuration plus a few other things. This one like u stated is 118k, that would mean a fully loaded one with every single option would be over 120k still a great deal compared to the S class at 140k. We haven't even talked about the Maybach versions that can rise about 200k without beating this Lexus in interior design and quality.

Under certain road conditions in autonomous mode the car will follow the car in front in an overtaking maneuver! This seems very unsafe?

Yeah unfortunately the Kiriko glass is only available with the black interior right now. I hope they change this in the future!

Is there no DVD for all this money? Also does the door have auto close and window auto stop if it detects a childs arm etc?
It's optional, this model reviewed here isn't equipped with it and full HD entertainment screens at the rear.

We didn't have the vehicles back to back (they were actually months apart) so I can't really remember well enough to compare the ride. As far as the cabins both are AMAZING! The Audi has more tech but the Lexus has a more organic design with rich details like the hand-blown glass trim. It's awesome that you get to choose between such amazing vehicles!

This new LS blows the Audi A8 away completely in terms of luxury and features, the interior of the new LS is miles ahead. They just can't be compared, the Germans have a lot to do with their next generation flagships to catch up. I can bet u the S class will introduce hand designed materials and glass in the next gen S class. This LS even used glass first before the new Rolls Royce Phantom, Lexus really raised the bar with this car and at this price point clearly is the best in class. The Audi A8 has a lot of tech like remote control parking that's available on the LS in Asian markets for eg. There's really nothing the new A8 has that this LS doesn't, but the LS has way more luxury features which some term overkill that isn't available on the A8.

I've been a Lexus Enthusiast for years, but Mercedes has been producing some really nice cars lately. I personally would rather the CLS. Sorry Lexus!

$120K can buy 6 new vehicles each vehicle last 10 years, 6 vehicles last 60 years, this Lexus ls 500 is not last 60year if driving every day. SAVE your Money- don't crazy for car
