Gabe says he went to Japan, but at 5:30. He has the Katanas placed on the wrong side, they're meant to be facing up in order to prevent the dulling of the blade.
I lived in Japan for four years and didn't know that. It's not like everybody has katanas on display in their homes there.

Gabe is honestly a hidden treasure. I really disliked him my first couple go arounds but after watching the office 100 times over, his comedic relief is actually appreciated. Especially during the later seasons haha.
