How does every MMA fan feel when you mention the name, Vitor Belfort? First of all, respect and admiration. His spectacular fights are seen by the third generation of fans and he can rightly be called a legend of mixed martial arts. In one of the interviews, the question was, "How much sport has changed your life?". Belfort replied, "For as long as I can remember, I’ve always dreamed of success in sports. And the Bible says, "You sow, you reap". And he "shook" a lot: titles, popularity, and eternal legacy in the MMA’s best knockouts. In this video we will tell what he "sowed" to achieve this success. Let’s introduce Belfort as an invincible fighter and recall the rise of the career of a powerful drummer and technical grappler, who earned the nickname "The Phenom".

  • I met Belfort right after Ultimate Japan. He was waiting for a table at Planet Hollywood with his gf & coach. He was very gracious. We talked about everything. Including Curtis Lefler training him. He asked my name twice....which I found very kind to try to remember me. He was such a bad ass and very young. 😉👍

  • I've been watching MMA since the early UFC days in the late 90's early 2000s. It's evolved a lot from random street fighters with wild win claims, to backyard brawlers, to concentrated styles fought between professionals mixed with ground & pound, to the boxing/muay thai/bjj/wrestling meta, to the very refined and sophisticated MMA we see today. I remember Vitor as being a formidable knock out artist for his time!

    • Pretty cool how it has evolved throughout the years. Watching old UFC from the mid 90s is so much different than todays UFC. The Pride days were my favorite, they had such a lineup of talent in the early to mid 2000s, and less rules.

  • Vitor has been ridiculed in more recent times and I find it appalling. These overnight fans don’t realize how many of the fighters were using and many fighters still are using performance enhancers just back behind closed doors. Vitor fought the majority of his early fights with a lot less weight than his opponents. Vitor is a legend of the sport that has my respect for what he’s done in mma.

  • Only FWIW...those who dont know, TRT is not the same as "steroids" and each individuals body will react differently. When adminstered by a doctor there is no rhyme or reason not to allow it in sporting events, as long as the levels are correct. Overtime testosterone levels will 100% gradually deplete in all male's...except Yoel Romero lol. Dan Henderson was on the same thing Vitor was but his body physically did not react as well, so were a lot of other fighters, theres a JRE where Joe talks about it in depth. There is only an average to go off of and the range in adult males is 300-1200, that number falls in the 500-600 for most men around 35 years of age. With a mean of 1200 TRT plays a huge factor in performance when someones natural level falls far below the average. Which was obvios in Vitors later years. If the amount administered is abused then obvioulsy test levels will sky rocket but at the time, the UFC was under full awareness of what the fighters were taking becasue drug tests were a thing. Thats long after the glory days of Mark Coleman and those guys were being tested during those fights. It is what it is, not defending anyone just stating that most dont know the difference between TRT and say winstrol, stanozolol...etc.
