That's a dad that genuinely cares about the life and growth of his daughter, and I truly respect that. I know it's a low bar but I've seen parents half as busy or travel frequent as he is that would have to force themselves to pay attention or even actually care about their own children & it's kinda sad really.

As the father of two daughters, I enjoyed this. There's nothing more important than raising your children, and nothing more rewarding than seeing them develop into adults. Bravo, Ethan and Maya!

What a fantastic duo. It's so awesome to see a healthy and close bond between a father and daughter in Hollywood and nice to see an actor who doesnt downplay their famous family. Maya was lucky but she's used the good fortune of her family connections to learn as much as she could, work hard and grow into a really promising actor. Cant wait to see Wildcat, Ethan Hawke continues to impress me with his sheer number of talents. Blaze was a great movie, he seem to have cornered the market for unsung, folk hero biopics.

Ethan Hawke is so underrated. He's so excellent and I genuinely believe that he does elevate his colleagues. Maya is wonderful too. Super talented family and their dynamic is awesome. Like you just really want to go record shopping with them (followed by a tipsy dinner, a trip to the theater, then a punk rock show and late night snack.).

I always thought Maya is a beautiful blend of both her parents, but she looks SO MUCH like her mother sitting next to her handsome father. Wild! I really love this interview because I had no idea they were so close. It's obvious they love and admire each other, and Ethan never takes off the parent hat next to his adult daughter. It's a different relationship when your children become adults, but you don't stop being a parent. And I love that he doesn't blur that line.

They leave a mental trap all over that we need to clean up. 🧼

I stopped watching The Academy Awards at least about 14 to 15 years ago. They 've snubbed a lot of great actors and also, as a comic book fan and comic book movie fan, I feel like they have this attitude of looking down their nose on Super Hero movies and popular movies( but that's another subject). Never mind an Oscar Nomination, Ethan Hawke should have WON at least one Oscar by now. And I always say the same thing about Tom Cruise, too. How is it that Tom Cruise doesn't have at least one Oscar Award by now? I got tired of the Oscars and their snobbery a long time ago but I couldn't agree more that Ethan Hawke should have more Oscar Nominations to his name at this point.

8:13 I’ll never forget seeing Uma, Ethan and all their young children at a Shakespeare in the Park production in Seward park in Seattle Washington. The most rinky-dink Shakespeare production company in a small city and they were rapt in attention and the children were very well behaved. I’ve loved Ethan as an actor my entire life but my favorite thing about him is how truly down to earth he is.
Having just moved to Seattle I am sorry I missed that! All I've seen in Seward Park are the Audubon tours!

My husband was part of the crew on movie starring Ethan, shot outside USA. I was able to visit set one day, and attend the wrap party. Was so cool to see him work. He comes across as a very professional, grounded and laid-back person

It's great to see their bonding chemistry. A lot of love and memories they have together. So much respect for each other. You can feel that they have a great father-daughter-relationship and she looks exactly like a Uma and Ethan. It seems like they did it all right. She was talking about a year in which she saw Madonna, Gaga, and Adele in concert and the thing that stood out was how much he had taught her and helped her grow that year.
