  • What a fantastic duo. It's so awesome to see a healthy and close bond between a father and daughter in Hollywood and nice to see an actor who doesnt downplay their famous family. Maya was lucky but she's used the good fortune of her family connections to learn as much as she could, work hard and grow into a really promising actor. Cant wait to see Wildcat, Ethan Hawke continues to impress me with his sheer number of talents. Blaze was a great movie, he seem to have cornered the market for unsung, folk hero biopics.

I really love this interview because I had no idea they were so close. It's obvious they love and admire each other, and Ethan never takes off the parent hat next to his adult daughter. • I stopped watching The Academy Awards at least about 14 to 15 years ago. They 've snubbed a lot of great actors and also, as a comic book fan and comic book movie fan, I feel like they have this attitude of looking down their nose on Super Hero movies and popular movies( but that's another subject). Never mind an Oscar Nomination, Ethan Hawke should have WON at least one Oscar by now. And I always say the same thing about Tom Cruise, too. How is it that Tom Cruise doesn't have at least one Oscar Award by now? I got tired of the Oscars and their snobbery a long time ago but I couldn't agree more that Ethan Hawke should have more Oscar Nominations to his name at this point.

One does not negate the other. Notice how often actors end up with the nanny, or the makeup artist on their movie, or the waitress at the bar nearest to their filming location. You can feel that they have a great father-daughter-relationship and she looks exactly like a Uma and Ethan. It seems like they did it all right. I always liked Ethan's work, but now I like it even more seeing him as a great real life dad.

  • What a great relationship! We don't even need the questions, or Variety, or whoever is making this. How nice to see. Also the way they both take the writing of the play or answer or whatever so seriously, putting things in quotes, or writing it out fully, and being so invested after they do, sharing tons of detail contextualizing their 'mistakes,' is truly so lovely! I cannot even imagine having a relationship with my parent like this.

  • I already knew this video was gonna be enjoyable to watch before even watching it. I absolutely love their father-daughter dynamic. I don't mean this to come off the wrong way, but their dynamic feel so natural that doesn't feel like a Hollywood parent/child relationship where the parent/child pretends to know the other when you know they don't.

Funny, eloquent, good chemistry 👏🏼😍 Cute interview 👍🏼

  • Such a sweet and genuine relationship. She was talking about a year in which she saw Madonna, Gaga, and Adele in concert and the thing that stood out was how much he had taught her and helped her grow that year. "Some good fathering that year," as she put it. I can't remember the last time I heard anyone say something like that, famous or otherwise. Also, she is young Uma Thurman in the flesh; it's uncanny.
