Why aren't horror movies scary anymore. It's heartbreaking 😢
Because now it's simply fast satisfaction before everything else... No time to build a plot twist. No time to convey emotions or identify to any character. No time to think. Everything has to go fast, otherwise the regular dumb auditor will drop the watch. Just blood and gore, cheap jumpscares and over-and-over-and-over-and-over reused concepts and stories. I mean, who else can you blame, when people will still be going to the cinema to watch and then buy the 17th installment of SAW? Or Alien 9 or Strangers-TheNerverEnding-Return. For fuck sake... There's nothing important or holy to the big industry nowadays. And I guess we get accustomed to it anyways; when we are big watchers/readers/players of horror multimedia. But yeah, I keep my 1st point, about everything has to be always faster. That only thing is the root of breaking immersion in all medias and all genres to my opinion.
And if they were all the good parts are shown in the trailer
The more you watch you get a peek behind the curtain and learn all the tropes, camera angles (theres something behind you!). Smart horror directors have to know to outsmart the viewer.
Because you are old now, and your imagination wilted with age. Horror movies have always been for teenagers. Not adults. Think about it, when you were a kid do you remember the horror movies that frightened you scaring your parents very much? exactly.

I mean, I knew within the first few minutes how the first one would end. Foreshadowing should be subtle, not a sledgehammer
We don't see any good Werewolf or Vampire movies now, was very disappointed with The Last Voyage of the Demeter
I miss vampires that would tear people apart and could only be killed by 12 year old boys and their group of friends. Now vampires too mopey and be taken out by insulting their mascara.
I actually liked the Demeter movie but 100%, I agree with you. Not enough decent old school werewolf movie action. Like An American Werewolf in London or Bad Moon. Something along that

Where's the creativity and originality gone with these horror films? The genre just gets so flooded these days with the same regurgitated things over and over with no new spin on it. This used to be one of the most creative and experimental genres around. Now its practically the least.

The Piper looks like a rehash of The Ring, but this time, it's a cursed piece of music instead of a video tape. It even has a child who listens to it, but wasn't supposed to, just like the little boy in The Ring watched the cursed tape, but wasn't supposed to.

@@LynnieKoko m night shyamalan made a movie with a big twist at the end and everyone liked it. then he made another one. then he really started to make these movies with wild twists that don't make any sense. so a lot of people are tired of that. I was once sitting in a movie theatre watching a trailer for the movie Devil. towards the end of the trailer, his name pops up, and a bunch of people groaned.

I was born in 1999 and some of the best horror movies ever created were released when i was a little kid like 6-7 years old. Watching newly released horror movie CDs my grandpa bought used to be my favorite hobby. Because horror movies were really good back than 😅 i feel really sorry for the kids who were born in this age

Abigail, Tarot, A Quite Place Day One, Sting, Stopmotion and Imaginary are all I am interested in. All the other horror movies aren't horror movies. Immaculate especially could have easily had a demon entity but no they show humans instead. Just saving costs and getting cash is Hollywood today.

The immaculate movie is going to completely overshadow the omen origin story in my opinion bc of Sydney Sweeney and it just looks like it's more well made. The spider movie looks not bad for a creature feature but could be a great one if there's a crazy unique sci-fi type of plot twist in the realm of it being like an alien or something. All in all 2024 4 me is all about stop motion and terrifier 3, hands down!
