They were designed to be convenient and good eaten by themselves but design doesn't always equal intended purpose. Ex, the Q-Tip. By design it looks like the perfect thing to use to clean your ears and is in fact used for that on a dangerously high basis. The intent however was a small cotton swab that can be used for cleaning, almost literally anything else. So if you enjoy eating slim jim chopped up and turned into a burrito, you are using it as intended. As to the rest of the ingredients, same thing.

I remember my mom making something similar. We called it a top ramen tamale. Essentially it was some doritos and cheese crushed up with ramen and rolled into a bag with a little bit of water. leave it out for 30 or so minutes to set after wrapping it in newspaper. She learned it from her dad who went to prison

My mom went to jail when I was an infant, but she would make ‘spread’ as she called it for us bc she missed it. She would do crushed ramen, crushed cheese Doritos, sliced beef jerky and let it sit. And once it was done add nacho cheese. To this day, sadly I crave it as well and sometimes even make it myself

The girls in corporate prison would take whatever from the dinner trays of theirs and other's leftovers & make their own dinner with that + commissary, lots of burritos. They liked me bc I'd dump off the meat etc to them. Eventually, I started getting lumped people's peas and stuff like that, there was hardly anything I was eating off the trays except for breakfast ones. I went officially vegetarian from the start in there, even though I'd run very close before, had some turkey with my cats shortly before but that was either nearly or completely it for almost a year prior. I had an ED when I went & had gotten back to a normal BMI, wanted to lose weight inside. I did not, gained 3 lbs there & hated it, lost those when I was xferred to federal & came out the same, ate quite a bit at that one but got to exercise all day after my job, which was cleaning the grounds.

My mom went to jail when I was an infant, but she would make ‘spread’ as she called it for us bc she missed it. She would do crushed ramen, crushed cheese Doritos, sliced beef jerky and let it sit. And once it was done add nacho cheese. To this day, sadly I crave it as well and sometimes even make it myself

That jail had some good commissary. Our country jail had jack sh!t.
The girls in corporate prison would take whatever from the dinner trays of theirs and other's leftovers & make their own dinner with that + commissary, lots of burritos. They liked me bc I'd dump off the meat etc to them. Eventually, I started getting lumped people's peas and stuff like that, there was hardly anything I was eating off the trays except for breakfast ones. I went officially vegetarian from the start in there, even though I'd run very close before, had some turkey with my cats shortly before but that was either nearly or completely it for almost a year prior. I had an ED when I went & had gotten back to a normal BMI, wanted to lose weight inside. I did not, gained 3 lbs there & hated it, lost those when I was xferred to federal & came out the same, ate quite a bit at that one but got to exercise all day after my job, which was cleaning the grounds.
