  • I love that Nate applies the wrap as an overkill precaution. Shows real care for the animal and real care for his craft. ❤

    @gwilliams4674@gwilliams467411 ай бұрын
    • It's *not* overkill!!! It's serving a purpose. It helps cushion that hoof so the cow can comfortably stand and walk on it and it keeps debris from the sole in an effort to keep that lesion from getting infected...

      @bwenluck9812@bwenluck98125 ай бұрын
    • @@bwenluck9812 also keeps the infection from getting worse if the cow already does happen to have an infection in their hoof. Because debris could make it worse with all the gross stuff from the ground and whatnot.

  • Every time I see a cow after a trim, I realize all over again how expressive they are with their faces. The way they often glance at Nate, as if it is registering for them that Nate is the one who took their hurt away. I think it is the eyes that are most expressive, really.

    • @@swiftfated That is awesome! I never knew. And it is amazing to me how people thousands of miles away and thousands of years in the past had the same opinions and ideas (about the eyes being so expressive), it goes to show that some human behaviors are truly universal.

  • I don't see people trimming dew claws too much. Once every several videos maybe. The big exception being when Hoof GP had a cow with a super long one. It was several inches long and was dragging on the ground and would likely have been bothersome for the cow. But with a quick trim, it was fine again. From what I have read, they actually do serve a function. They help the cow get better traction as they walk. I assume that helps on more slippery surfaces.
