I can say with 100% certainty that Dustin has no chance to beat Islam.
Whats makes islam fans so confident he beats everyone? He got a title shot after beating dan hooker and bobby green both on 6 days. His only top 10 win is vs charles and hes only defended against a 145 twice. Once on 10 days notice.

I'm down for it because it is a fun fight, but MAINLY because the winners of charles/arman and justin/max will not be ready in June. Dustin has successfully defended his rank so he is at #3. So unless you want the Lightweight champion to wait even longer or you want Chandler or someone else not even in the top 5, I think we can give him another shot. Once again, if the winners of the UFC 300 fights are willing to make the turnaround for June or if Islam doesnt want June anymore, Dustin needs to win 1-2 more to get another shot. Less deserving shots have happened in the past.
I’m tired of undeserved shots because we don’t get competitive fights
Doesn't matter if you wanna see it or not, no one else is free in June. The winner of Gaethje/Max and Olives/Arman will simply have to wait till October. Well, its probably Olives if anyone and Gaethje in 2025. I guess people just dont wanna see him get anothet title defence. But he shouldnt care about people that dislike him cuz they wont be happy no matter who he fights. Its the Lightweight's own fault that they took their meme fights in April and that Charles himself pulled out of the rematch.
The ufc is at fault and I clearly stated in the video why the ufc is at fault for not thinking of timing in these matchups. Like how is Dana going to say Charles and arman is the number one contender fight and then have Islam in June. 2 months in not enough time for those guys realistically
Islam went all over media saying he wants to fight & ready for #UFC299 but UFC would rather have O'Malley headline that card. So unfortunately, Dustin will get that title shot bec Max/Justin & Arman/Charles will be too banged up to turn around for June/July. Islam dont wanna wait anymore so he'll get Dustin instead.
Ufc matchmakers have been pathetic lately
I think it comes down to, what are the UFC's motivations? This is a business. The reality is that, they want/need a NAME to fight Islam, not just a contender. When they book these fights with venues/sponsors, who is fighting is part of the value. Who is fighting plays into their profit margins. The reality is that, the UFC from a business perspective, wants Islam to fight in Abu Dhabi, they want a name and would prefer Islam win. Because that's what's good for business. Now I hear everything you're saying and am constantly having the same thoughts. But the reality is you have to factor in these other elements and understand that they play an even greater role in determining who fights, when etc.... to the UFC. Rather than, actual merit.
It's tricky because Islam has infinitely better striking than Khabib but Khabib wrestle mauled Dustin. Islam has never been as much of a chain wrestler or as good of a ground and pounder as Khabib so I'm not sure he would do as perfect of a job as Khabib. And, at the same time, Dustin could very well win on the feet because, unlike Khabib, Islam would probably look to stand with him.
UFC should've not fucked up their scheduling and matched Islam vs. Gaethje or Charles in March already. I think everyone knows by now Dana was trying to cover his ass saying makhachev was injured.
Exactly!
Dana mismatched LW division, matching Justin vs max and then Armen vs Charles in April.
why are these mismatches
@@greigite5191because of the timing! Did you not watch the video?
Olives vs arman should have been on march and dustin BSD should have been april. But then again UFC is hurt business. They cant follow schedule like football or motogp.
@@GDL88 i didnt, my bad
even if he doesnt deserve it I think the UFC might want DP to get it. But totally get your point 100%
He could fight the loser of Holloway and gaethje. Or the loser of arman Oliveira. Whoever wins that fight gets a title shot. People shouldn’t be getting a title shot off of one win especially when he didn’t have some unreal streak beforehand and a few title opportunities as well.
@@cameron2900xand what have islam sit until the end of the year?
@@cameron2900x If Gaethje loses or Oliveira loses I'm totally down. He's 2-0 on max and arman would be a bit iffy since Dp only has a limited number of fights left. Both Holloway gaethje and arman Oliveira could be WARS. Meaning that DP might just be the only choice if we want 2 healthy fighters and for Islam to fight maybe 2 times this year. But totally see your point
They need to cancel Gaethje vs. Holloway at UFC 300, as that fight really makes zero sense. Gaethje should get Makhachev next. Poirier should fight Gamrot next. Oliveira vs. Tsarukyan should fight the winner of Gaethje vs. Makhachev in October at Abu Dhabi.
I forgot Poirier and Gamrot are teammates.

Crazy to me that Gaethjes not the one getting the shot. You beat fiziev and then ko dustin and u dont get it? Cmon man
islam was interested in fighting gaethje in march but ufc didnt make that shit happen...now as jsutin accepted the 300 MONEY FIGHT...so its his loss that he wont get the title shot
true. He really wanted that bag I guess.
I can't argue your main point, I think Islam will beat Dustin of course. But then you just start saying strange stuff like Gaethje and Tsarukyan will be better fights than Dustin can put up vs Islam. Tsarukyan lost to Gamrot who is great but a pale impression of Islam. And Dustin is every bit as good as Gaethje he was winning that fight with him on damage when the kick came. He beat the breaks off him a few years ago too. Dustin would have won that fight without the kick. So no, Gaethje isn't a better fight (though he deserves it more) So realistically only Charles has a decent outside chance to beat Islam mainly because he is so huge and strong now but they wanted him to work for a rematch for some reason. I think what really threw everything off course was UFC 300 and the need to have the entire card stacked even the EARLY PRELIMS and they've been trying their best to get new blood into lightweight they decided and also because they think they can sell O'malley which I think is lame. So there was much bigger strategy here than just making the best fights on time every time for the lightweight champ. They're trying to set up legacy with UFC 300 and a future with O'malley and getting new blood into lightweight and it all conspired to create this, what they are doing is not unreasonable just because you don't want to see Dustin fight.
We saw the positions Benoit was able to get him in, imagine what Islam would do in those positions.
Picture this: It's 2026, Colby & Dustin are both on winning streaks & both get their 4th shot at the title in their divisions.😂
I sincerely agree with everything said. Thank u for saying it. SOMEBODY needs to say & put this shit out there. Only thing is, I don't see any1 in the lightweight division beating Machachev & I hate Mach with a passion. His fight-style is so boring 4 me. It's like Khabib never left. But I gotta give it to him, Mach SOMEHOW keeps getting better & better & better. And the UFC (the idiots they are) gotta feed the beast. If Poirier is who Mach wants, give it to him. But it's gonna be an easy W. Doesnt challenge Mach at all. Even Mach knows it. Maybe Mach just wants to eat, I guess 🤷. And Im a huge HUGE fan of Poirier & even I agree & know Dustin is not gonna come close. Poirier could start training entirely in Sambo defense today until June & nothing will change the outcome. Really don't wanna see Dustin go 0-3 for the belt either. What then? I definitely thought Oliveira or Gaethje was waaay more deserving of a crack at Mach. But like you said, the UFC is constantly screwing up big time. And most of it, I see, is from ulterior motives: like trying to sell PPVs, trying to force-create superstars, showing favoritism to fighters over others, trying to make double division champs, debacle after debacle of wrong decisions with extremely questionable judging. Bottom line, The Almighty dollar reigns supreme. It's an awesome sport, sadly, there is no legitimate system in place. Instead Dana & his goons are the 1's pulling the puppet strings, while we all dance to their rhythm. And that huge class action lawsuit just solidifies the idea that they get to dictate the rules & regulations behind closed doors & the 1's that suffer the most, at the end of the day, are the fighters. It's like u said, how does a company with a billion dollar valuation not plan for these scenarios in the future? I think its cause they can't see past the dollar bill. And don't get me started on how Holloway should be facing Topuria, not Gaethje. Or why Edwards & Belal STILL hasn't been made? So disorganized. I feel really bad for the fighters. Supremely unjust. No one is fighting who they SHOULD be fighting. This year is gonna go down as a debacle 4 the UFC. And now, after tonite, we have 2 weeks in a row of female headlined cards, which , historically, NEVER ever works out well. Makes u wonder, who the hell has their hand on the steering wheel?!?!🤷🤷🤷 Even 299 still looks way better than 300. Just ... What a shit show.

I'm perfectly fine with this and you should be as well. Sometimes (like w Sean vs Izzy) the circumstances dictate who gets the shot. The UFC seems desperate to make sure they can get Islam back in Abu Dhabi as champ, but Islam isn't messing with that. I'd much rather see Poirier as the next challenger if it means we don't have to wait until Fall to see Islam fight again.
Move Islam to July to give more time for the winner of arman or Charles to be ready why the fuck does it have to be June

Ufc wanted Topuria to win that's why they booked volk vs topuria in 298. And booking all the LW contenders in 300 makes no sense. Maybe dana doing that because islam declined 300 main event.

Everyone needs to take a couple seconds to use their brains, and actually comprehend how dumb this narrative and crying is. There is literally no victim in this supposed injustice, and it’s the absolute best case scenario for the entire division, and definitively for the fans. Because the solution to this supposed problem means Charles and arman both pull out of their big fights and wait on the sidelines for their respective turn for a title shot, which would bring us probably halfway into next year, and it would also result in Dustin who’s 35 now sitting on the sidelines for god knows how long as well. At the end of the day, islam or whoever beats him is going to end up fighting Charles/or arman, gaethje/or max, or Dustin and all that this is doing and strictly because of the timing is rearranging the order while the dust from all these other really important fights settle.
