A friend of mine was in Brazil this world cup and bought me a shirt and I decided to get USA away shirt because I really liked it. I also really like the Croatian home shirt though, I must admit.
I will always remember this game, specifically Dempsey's goal. I was 10 years old and was at a bar with my dad, and my friend and his dad. I remember the ball being played to Dempsey, and he jumps over it and gets it under control. He shoots and it goes in off of the far post, and the whole place goes ballistic. I think about this moment all the time, it's such an amazing memory

That Ghanaian side was pretty scary. They had a lot of talent and individual players capable of moments of brilliance. Their midfield was much stronger than the US and I remember it like it was yesterday. Great game overall.

This was the first World Cup I watched as a football fan, I'm so happy my country at least made the knockout round, and we even played very well against Portugal, Germany, and even Belgium (Tim Howard is the GOAT)
ghana's goal was amazing; perfect back heal with inches of space and how he got that much power with a quick punch was mesmerizing.
Yeah, I think Howard would have saved it if he had done the 'usual' shot to the far corner. Great choice to hit with the outside of the foot near-post.
This was my first World Cup and first time witnessing the U.S. play in it. When Dempsey scored in the opening minutes I screamed and got up off the ground and cheered like I scored the goal. My mom told me to stop acting so crazy and I don’t need to scream like that. Then when Brooks scored to break the tie, my mom was cheering too 😏 The 2014 World Cup inspired me to play soccer, joining the High School team that fall. Forever a soccer fan, but it is called Football
What I love about the World Cup is is creates rivalries like USA/Ghana, but in the end I feel like as long as both teams play fair both countries gain more respect for each other! Ghana you are incredible team! Can’t wait to play again in 2022!

This was the first World Cup game I ever watched. Never cared for soccer (football) before this but I decided to tune in because I was interested. By the time John Brooks scored I was a full fledged fan, yelling at my TV.
That's what soccer is about, it's one sport that brings out the patriotism like no other sport . It makes u scream ,curse , jump all the emotions put together . Soccer can be boring in one instance alone, when u are not emotionally attached to any of the teams. But when ur country is playing, it means everything. One game can have so many stories in it , the common eye can not understand, it's like watching chess or a tactical war . Most American sports are about constant buttering ,but soccer is different , it's a patient sport ,seen your team defend a one zero lead can put u on the edge of ur seat . I am not American but I route for the USMNt team , because I see them as underdogs, in sports I naturally route for underdogs . But I don't route for the USWNT because they are not underdogs, strange .
