Statistically he was by FAR the best. Most efficient by leaps and bounds. Most guys need 600 pass attempts to do what Purdy does with just 444. It's crazy.
I agree with RG3. A lot of other team have the talent too, it’s just a knock on Purdy because of the success the 49Niners been having.
Purdy outplayed Mahomes. All of Mahomes' great runs in SB came at the hands of bear hug holds with no flags. Disgusting bs by refs

@@hugah6424 I will say he outplayed him for most of the game actually. He also dealt with 9 unblocked pass rushes. The most for KC this season. Mahomes got most of his yards in the 4th and OT when the Niners went to their dumb soft zone coverage.
But did he outplay Lamar when they met?

RG3 is right. This was about people's perception and not about Purdy's play on the field. The stats and the tape shows it.

Statistically Purdy was the best QB in the NFL in 2023. Lamar Jackson didn't lead the league in ANY WB stats but the media had to give it to anyone but Purdy. MVP award lost a post of credibility after that BS

When Mahomes got hit 10 times vs The Bucs in his SB loss he only scored 9 points amd tirned it over multiple times. Purdy got hit 11 times in hos SB loss, didn't turn the ball over and barely lost in overtime. Funny how media uses Mahomes bad O-line play as the reason he had that bad game while Purdy overcame the same issue but worse and dont gove him credit for it. The double standards the media use to fover Purdy vs guys like Mahomes are ridiculous. How about highest QB rating in forst 2 years? Mahomes was the record holder intil Purdy just beat that record.

Orchestrate is what Kyle does. He takes his pieces and orchestrates his game plan. He’s always needed the quarterback that could run the melody line!!! It’s a symphony on the field.
There is a moment this or last season where Purdy sees the oncoming blitzer and baits him for a moment, and then jukes him. Turns in opposite direction and throws a pass. Ive never seen a QB do that like that. He recognizes it early. Tight window throw to Christian that after review, fans were chanting Purdy with his father crying in the stands. Also, he beat Tom Brady at his highest prime veteran year

Purdy had a very productive season. Next year will be important regarding his head. Is he still working or believing he is head and shoulders over his teammates?
Purdy does not think that way at all. He is a team first guy. He has always given his team credit and taken blame for every loss. I do believe he will have another great season and get paid as he dese3rves to be.

Purdys numbers were great, and that’s not even taking into account the fact that at least 3 or 4 games he basically either didn’t play or they only ran in the 4th quarter because 9ers were up like 30-10

Time is going to prove RGIII right. He knows the game and tells it straight. Purdy is going to get better. This will be his first full training camp. He’s just settling in. Healthy, Robert could have reached a high career ceiling with Shanahan.

Lamar Jackson at 2? Idk man. Firstly, Rodgers has 111 touchdowns and 21 picks since 2020 and didn’t even play last season. 2 MVPs in the last three seasons he played. Deserved MVPs by the way not a weak 24 td “mvp” season. If he’s the same guy he’s above Lamar. I’d also take burrow and you could maybe argue Allen. I’d also argue Herbert who is more talented than people realize should be in here itleast. he’s just been stuck in a situation like stafford was in Detroit. Would bet so much money if Herbert was on some of these other teams he balls out.

Mahomes is far more physical than either Brady or Purdy. Mahomes is deceptively fast.

He throws for 46 tds, 5k yards and 13 interceptions. Also he leads number 1 in damn near every category. There’s no qb that played better than him in totality. No qb! Disclaimer. He’s not the best qb overall in the league, but he was by far at qb this year! His production was unmatched

Mahomes has had some bad SB games. Those are facts. he was not very good until the NIners switched coverage. Their first SB took a miracle play by Tyreek to even give them any life. I think Mahomes is one of the best I have ever seen but Chris Jones won them their SB's.

This is an awful argument. They see their own insecurities? lol No they see a guy with a noodle arm, short, small arms/hands. Can't throw the ball 50+ yards. Can't operate in a condensed pocket. Can't take over a game for 400+ passing yards. Can only distribute. He is 100% a game manager. He has the best offensive play caller in the league, and it's not close. Guy has mid talents like Jimmy G and Purdy lead the league in EPA, CPOE, etc. Then on top he has the Avengers as weapons to distribute to.

I would take the word of a former QB who knows what it takes to not only play in that system, but play the QB position over some guy like you, who RG3 is talking about.
RG3 is not a football mind though. He was all athleticism. I pointed out key points about why Purdy's a game manager. He doesn't have the talent to be a true difference maker. Man I loved watching RG3 play. I was born a Niner fan and I'll die a Niner fan. But this dude was fun to watch. Like Michael Vick and Barry Sanders. Its rare to see someone go from a standstill to 25 mph before you can blink, then change direction in a sharp angle without slowing down. That's what those 3 did.
