Update: Brandys family reached out to me and informed me, they were made aware, and had a proper service in honor of her. Her dog was also rescued by family and is safe!

Mateo , I am a homeless disabled female myself. It means so much just to be noticed and treated like a “normal “ person. People don’t come up to talk to homeless. You have a huge heart and are full of kindness. You were an earth angel for her….i agree we all need to show kindness and care to one another. Thank you for sharing the story. This is so sad...her cars towed, her dog goes to the shelter. But you know what's beautiful? You made her coffee and a breakfast sandwich on the last day of her life. That was kind. And a kindness she received made her day brighter and she got to recieve some love. It makes a difference. She did not die alone and forgotten.

Of all the videos I've seen over the past decade with people living in cars and the whole van life thing...I've never seen a single one of them cook a meal for a complete stranger. Love thy neighbor - God bless you sir!
You don't realize how many homeless people are out there until you start dwelling in a vehicle. Good for you for actually caring though, I did a simliar thing for a lady I met while out on the road and we still talk to this day. The world can be a cold place some times, but spreading love will always keep us warm.
Nothing I can say that hasn’t already been said. It’s crazy that you made a last minute decision to change your travel plans. That the campsite you wanted was snowed in. And that you ended up where you did at the time you did. It’s almost like you were meant to be there. Most people would say it was for her. But it may have been for you. Why, only you and time can answer that. Take care Brother.

Without even knowing her situation, your internal compass told you to reach out to her. Your instincts told you someone was in that vehicle and you checked on her and shared a meal with her without any profit motive, gain, or intentions. Just one human connecting with another. She was so grateful for your kindness in sharing a meal with her. You never could have known what she was going through, but your selflessness told you exactly what she needed. This breaks my heart to see, but to know you met her in her final days will leave an imprint on you forever. We never know what going on inside of those we encounter. You showed exactly how to treat people without even knowing. It just happened to be caught on video and I'm very sorry you had to experience this moment. But i feel like he could benefit from knowing more about her story and that she’s truly free from the pain… she’s working thru it in heaven and wants to thank him for showing her sacrificial love at the end. There’s a lot there. I pray he will get the closure he needs whether that’s with my help or another source. I’m praying for comfort to rest over him.

I have a brother and my son that lives with me, my husband died in 2019 right before Covid. I guess we can all feel lonely even when we have people around us. I lived in my car with my kids and my dog. We went from having nothing to having a beautiful 3 bedroom home but I know exactly how fast everything could be gone. I never take it for granted. If you can’t be anything else, be kind.

@@adammm46473 I’m on disability but I was a single mom with 3 kids. I started small, I rented a shitty little rundown 2 bedroom trailer. It was horrible but I could handle the bills by myself. I took a little extra money each month & worked on building up my credit with secured credit cards/self. I put one bill (Spotify/cellphone) on each card & had it auto pay out of my account. When I started, my credit score was below 400. Over the course of 3 years I raised my credit score 280 points. I was approved for a FHA & USDA loan which covered my mortgage & most of my down payment. It was hard but it’s doable.

Not knowing Brandy's story, I hope that you take solace in knowing that her last experience was the kindness of a stranger. I'm sorry that you had to experience this but know that you did all that you could do in this situation.
Mateo, sometimes we come in contact with a person or people who are here for us in our moment of need. You were that person who came to Brandy in her moment in need. You noticed Brandy and saw Brandy, you treated her with the utmost respect and made Brandy a loving meal because you probably wanted her to feel better, seeing that she was living in a car. A meal you denied yourself, but would probably do many times over to help her. You were raised right and Brandy was very fortunate to have you in her last few days, someone to treat her with respect and love. Don't feel bad, you're a good man. Don't feel bad for knowing Brandy's moved on. Brandy has got all the amenities for life she could ever want now.

@@winterisbluay bro here's what I do if I'm near urban areas. Look for malls if you're in a big city there are drive in parking towers you have food warmth and shelter. Change up the malls here and there I stay on the gulf of Mexico so everything is within 2 hours or so. Also here at can literally camp at the beach for 14 day straight free then drive an hour to another beach for 14 days just making rounds. Wal-Mart and malls are everywhere.

I’ve lived in my car. Homeless people please take care of yourselves. Ask for help, food, money when you think it’s appropriate. Be as invisible as possible, and pickup after yourself. Help others and be a good citizen. You’ll find your way eventually. Always be aware of your surroundings. This guy has a lot of charm and that helps him. Use whatever gifts you have.
And talk to your Heavenly Father without ceasing, as He loves you the most, and knows your needs. God bless you.

I don’t think you will see this but if you do…you were there for her on what was perhaps one of her worst days. You fed her, you re hydrated her but most importantly you talked to her and treated her with kindness and respect . I choose to think she is with Jesus now, at rest and with joy and no longer afraid or cold or hungry or in pain. God put you there when she needed you. Universe operates in mysterious ways. Her dog seemed to be a senior so he/she won’t be an earthly soul much longer either. They’ll travel together soon ❤❤❤ Don’t be or feel sad for her. I have always smiled and carressed their forhead right in their passing 😊 Our time here on earth is a Micro-moment and our body so frail compared to our huge soul which goes home and continue on its jurney. We do think in a narrow concept because we aren’t capable to do otherwise.

I thought a dozen times during your video how you must have touched that woman’s heart with that selfless kind gesture. I had no idea that your video was going to end like it did. I’m so sorry you had to experience this but I hope it reassures you that you are beautiful and made that woman’s last day be filled with caring and kindness. From a stranger no less. The 'Bo' from 'Ivy and bo and me' is the dog that I inherited from a full-time nomad that I met in Quartzsite who died less than 2 months later. So watching this was very triggering. We bond to others so quickly on the road. It makes losses much harder. My heart goes out to you, Mateo. This is the first time I have watched your videos. You are AMAZING!! You are so kind, to people and animals. You are training your cat. Everything about you is warm and friendly. I don’t know why Brandy was living in a car in that weather, but I am sure she was moved by your kindness. She was alone with her dog, and then you came. I’m an old lady in a car in Quartzsite. But I have heat, blankets, a way to cook. I have health issues too. It wouldn’t surprise me to die in my car. But oh how wonderful to have someone reach out to you. People who are disabled and senior citizens shouldn't have to be homeless ! These rents are just too high all over the country. We need a massive building program for affordable housing to be built from one coast to the other. All City Council meetings should be used to make the Council members aware of the need to drop opposition to affordable housing, and permit it and build it instead. Investment in housing is investment in society !

That makes you one in a million in my eyes, and I think you've made the right decision to post this to encourage others to break the ice when they see someone struggling in this way. (There but for the grace of God, go all of us). I understand how distressing this was for you, but maybe in time to come you will be comforted by knowing that you enriched Brandy's last few days with your kindness.

I seen all the effort and care you provided her for breakfast, you gave her every little bit of gas you had so much so you went without. You are a wonderful soul...a rare gem..
