  • Congrats on your deer sir, I gave up a prime day yesterday because my daughter wanted to try hunting with me.. we ended up spot and stalking a doe and shot it at 40 yards, now she is hooked!.. I would give up the opportunity at a wall hanger everytime to get a young person into the sport. I will remember this day for the rest of my life 😊

    • Awesome stuff, my dad got me into by taking me on an 90 degree September evening because it was a Friday after school and he shot an 8 pointer while we were both drenched in sweat. Been hooked since

  • Had the most stellar hunt on the 30th! Bad wind, I took the loooong way around. I was still hunting with my Bow. Kneeling down, A huge buck came in 10 feet behind me, scary close. I flinched, he just turned back around and walked away. There was doe chasing, little spikes grunting they ran so close I could have touched them!! ❤ ended up getting my first successful Bow kill @ 15 yards. A young feller, filled me with Joy!!! Thank you Team WHS! Thank you Jesus! I have improved my skill tremendously from this channel 🎉

  • Jeff, been watching your videos since 2021 and since then it has been amazing how many deer and deer hunting "myths" I have busted after hearing the old timers in my town repeat them for years. I have learned so much about habitat, strategy and deer behavior through your videos and extensive follow-up research and now I love sharing all this good information every chance I get. Thanks for making me a better hunter!

  • It's been INCREDIBLY HOT here on Long Island for the past two weeks. All of our spots have been quiet. Temps went from 80 to 60 and rain yesterday!!! Had about a 5 hour break in the rain and good wind. Going on your advice from your videos my son and I decided to hit our afternoon stand and of course 40 minutes before dark the rain came back 2 hours earlier than forecast😡. We got soaked but at least the rain kept us quiet on the way out. Going to be 50 and clear here on Thursday!!! Hopefully all the hours spent watching your videos pays off. 🤘

  • i shot the biggest buck of my life at 10:50 on the edge of a field over looking a tiny strip of thicket between the field and woods. This thicket was only 50 yards wide and 100 yards long. ive shot more bucks out of that one spot than any other. Unfortunately the farm sold and they put a huge house 100 yards away with the edge of garage being roughly 30 yards from my tree.

  • I totally agree with everything you say and have learned alot from your knowledge. Unfortunately some of us on small parcels (50 acres) only have one way in & out. Down a field edge for example. Taking “the long way” would mean tromping thru the woods like an elephant at dawn & dusk anyway. So the entry & exit thing only applies to select parcels. Even a bigger chunk of woods that’s surrounded by other private properties only has one way in & out. If we could we would. 🤷‍♂️

  • Good morning my friend I just wanna say thank you very much thank you thank you thank you do you do not have idea how much great you are doing to my life to my hunting and my friends around me. Thanks to you and your experience. I can support myself I can make myself feel better over my failures in my success, and at the same time being able to help and support my Hunter brothers, they are part of my team this past weekend. We had horrible weather here in Oklahoma. I went hunting on Saturday trying to get my first target buck. I got wet pretty bad and I still went to work and being tired im a back up driver at Walmart DC and being tired I make a little mistake it may cost me my job but no one got hurt and that’s good lol I pull the wrong trailer off the door and the dock plate was in and had a great light so I was good I just didn’t check the dock plate lol, but I took off yesterday to go back and hunt trying to catch this buck he was on a leaking branch 40 yards away from me. He smell the gun oil of my Muzzleloading and took off and I did not see him all day long, I saw a bunch of pretty nice eight pointer spikes and does walking around but no the target buck I want I was out all day on this cold crazy wind and I did never got a shot of him. I came home. I was so depressed inside then this morning. I went to my uncle shop, get some fresh donuts and coffee and start watching this video and I feel better now I just got too excited for this days to come lol

  • Congrats on getting Bo. Finally got out for the first time this year and saw a yearling doe with a pretty small fawn. Gave her a pass/ Still don't have a lot of activity on the cameras. Not sure if it is because of the corn and beans still being in the fields. Just trying to be cautious and wait for late season when they come into my food plots. Thanks for the video.

  • Always great information. Funny though, some of my biggest bow bucks have been coming through right at high noon or thereabouts. I hunt in small hardwood woodlots and farm country and larger public land tracts. Now during gun season, I agree with you.... I never see mid day bucks during gun season unless I'm fortunate enough to hunt unpressured private woodlots.

  • Im torn between hunting a tiny creek in the woods behind a bedding area or hunting a feild just above the bedding area , the problem with the feild is its 575 yards long by 60 yards wide . So anytime i see a deer im out of bow shooting range by a ways . And always have to try and stalk . And no spot for a stand . The woods , i know they move through thier just dont know when , im thinking that creek is best bet due to probably never being hunted in that particular spot , and its got alot of cover . The debating man i love it . Hope to see a squatch while im out lol awsome videos man youve taught us alot!!

  • Great info! All outfitters take guys to and from stands with machines and clients see or take deer. Highways are loaded with dead young bucks and soon older bigger bucks. I’ve seen more deer after being dropped off. If I had to walk way out and around the edge of the property I would be soaked in sweat and need a change of clothes. Deer get use to most things. It’s all a chance. But you can swing things to your advantage.

  • Question, when referring to hunt food in the evening bedding of a morning. Is that a policy that you always adhere to or is it situational? Reason im asking is where im located its been raining since around 3pm and suppose to continue through 5/6 am. Was wondering if that would still apply or if you would hunt food in that instance considering the weather will most likely minimize movement?

  • I love these videos! Question for anyone. I can hunt my parents 120acre farm, which used to be awesome, but since a giant dairy operation came in next door a while ago and all the corn is now silage and gone by october I have almost no cover. (Maybe 25 acres of woods and some swamp, then all bare field). Food plots have done nothing since deer just don't feel safe once leaves are gone in my narrow strip of woods. Next year I want to kill a bunch of swamp twice and plant good native habitat next fall. I'm thinking dogwood, river birch, and tamarack but would love it if anybody has more suggestiongs of the plants that grow best with "wet feet" and would be liked by whitetails.

  • Hey Jeff, I hunt on a permission piece of property and it’s 10 acres right outside a big city. Technically I am the only person who hunts in the area, due to city limits. It had a creek running through it and tons of acorns, as well as good cover. I had a mature bucks on it up until last week of October. The only deer I have spooked hunting was a doe while walking in, but that was awhile back ago. I have good access to both of my hunting spots. I’m just wondering where these bucks went, the property looked so great, now it’s bad. There is other woods in the surrounding area and a school with a lot of woods as well. I just think they left the area to go look for other things they need. If I could get your advice, that would be great! Thank you, congrats on Bo.

As you said it's only 10 acres gotta be very careful how you hunt 10 acres gotta have alot of discipline. Maybe only hunt it in the evening and with a good wind. Maybe your spooking them walking in in the morning?

I was high enough up and the wind was in my favor he came so close to my tree I couldn’t get a shot but could have dropped my crossbow and hit him on the head. He started to walk out in front and was gonna be a nice 15 yard shot suddenly perked up looking to the left and exited stage right calmly but quickly I heard the brush shake got excited thought it may be target buck #1…it was a bear! Took the shot at 26 yards great shot I thought. Buried to the fletchings right behind the shoulder and bear took off. Left and came back next day found half the bolt with the fletchings covered in blood found several blood spots never found the broadhead end of the bolt. Crawled through the thicket it went into and out the back side. Never found it searched for hours. Tried to hunt for deer since then not seeing much think I blew the area out and need to let it rest. I use mid day to sneak in the deer are elsewhere at that time

    • Hi Rick...I do not, way too hard to coordinate. Party because my schedule is booked almost a year in advance and we have to turn clients away. But we do offer a hunt for charity. We raise 10k a year thru that hunt...100 tickets times $100. It's more of a gimmick thing when you are starving for work, clients, subscribers, etc.can actually hurt the channel because you attract a lot of folks that will never come back. KZhead wonders why folks don't engage with your channel and they assume your content sucks. I've watched a few channels or brands hurt themselves doing those things and it set them back years...

  • Can't have success is one person in the property gets to make all the decisions and is on property every weekend. Bottom line is have a behavioral contract even with friends. I even bought all the books and shared with the group but since they think he knows best they ignored it. Wasted my money and my time.

  • For all of you worrying about neighbors...DON'T!!!! My mom was hunting her best stand (on her 150acres) come to find out neighbors have 2 stands right on the fence and have 9 guys hunting their 30acres this past Saturday, as she was. She shot an 11ptr right before dark. They left to go back to Ohio that night. For all ypu fence hunters YOU SUCK AND GET THE SHORT END OF THE STICK EVERY TIME!!! Wish I could share a pic of her buck

  • Move a mile on state land..... run into 50 more hunters. These tips may be good tips, but mostly for people hunting large tracks of private farm land. The average hunter doesn't have the privilege to hunt these types of conditions or scenario.
