But that was the most exciting and literal breathtaking experience I had in a long time. I was so excited I was literally shaking and I sang so loud ( which I never do ) . • My parents were really young and pretentious, I was still a baby when Gorillaz came out and they liked it so much they decided it was gonna be "my" band and I LOVED it: there's even a VHS recording of a birthday of mine in the early 00's in which Clint Eastwood (and other songs from that era) were playing in the background while I did my best to sing them, which wasn't really easy since my native language is spanish lol. This may sound kind of creepy and even cringy too, but my dad liked to refer to me as Noodle and he saw himself on 2D. He's no longer with us, so I don't know if he was aware of the fact that instead of being static characters they actually grew and aged... Gorillaz has been part of my life since forever but this year I'm really getting into them again and I think it's really curious how Noodle's development mirrored my own to the point that, physically, we're really similar. I wonder if somwhere, my dad realized that too.

She was only 14 at the time, and she came to see us, and due to the very specific role the royal family play in Thailand, they put a throne next to the mixing board for her to sit in, surrounded by I don’t know how many soldiers. “Song 2” started and she stood on her throne and stage-dived into the crowd. The reason I’ve written a song about it is because I had a dream about this princess very recently; she’d grown up and we spent time in my dream together, her as a woman. So there you go: 1997 was a long time, but at the moment it’s not.” - Damon Albarn
