I really didnt mind. I watched this movie as a kid probably as far back as I can remember using yt as well as watching a movie. Granted there were a few yrs in between so I watched the movie as 6-7 idk an maybe seen a few scenes as a 10 yr old? One of the few things I can remember from my childhood.

Well you gotta remember this is just a cut of all of the scenes that contain Kangaroos, which is 5 minutes out of an hour and a half film. So it would have been spread out more. It makes more sense in the context for sure.

Hey you definitely were not the only person who was fooled by this movie's false advertising as a kid. For a lot of people, this movie was their first real experience with being tricked by false advertising. And they don't want you to remember, but in all the promotional materials for this movie they really pushed hard that it was a kids movie about a talking kangaroo when it in fact was not.

I get that back in the day CGI was both a pain and all so they had to figure another way to do it, the result a Mafia Mob chasing the main guys. I’m glad I didn’t watch the movie when it came out in theaters, and even gladder that I wasn’t the victim to it’s misleading marketing tactics. Yet, I do feel sorry for those who WERE victims to it’s false advertising. Looking at it now through the movie’s trailer alone, I really wish it WAS a movie about a talking, rapping, Jacket-wearing, Sunglasses-sporting, Kangaroo who constantly outsmarts two friends and is the TRUE main star of the film. Kangaroo Jack deserves a reboot, one where Jackie Legs is the REAL star, and not just used as a marketing tactic…

The advertisements tricked us into thinking this was the movie but it was really a mob movie disguised as a kids film.

TigerSwipes actually it was a movie about 2 guys who took a maniacs money and put it in the jacket and started taking pictures with the roo they hit but he wakes up and hops away with the money so technically its not about the roo its about getting the jacket off the roo
They added these bits in after it was supposedly finished because all of the test audiences hated it so they decided to add them in to make a trailer so kids were ticked into watching it. It’s one of the most pathetic things ever.

Well you gotta remember this is just a cut of all of the scenes that contain Kangaroos, which is 5 minutes out of an hour and a half film. So it would have been spread out more. It makes more sense in the context for sure.

Hey you definitely were not the only person who was fooled by this movie's false advertising as a kid. For a lot of people, this movie was their first real experience with being tricked by false advertising. And they don't want you to remember, but in all the promotional materials for this movie they really pushed hard that it was a kids movie about a talking kangaroo when it in fact was not.
This movie was originally rated R but it performed poorly at test screenings so they made it into a family film. Which is something I didn’t learn until recently lol

I’m glad I didn’t watch the movie when it came out in theaters, and even gladder that I wasn’t the victim to it’s misleading marketing tactics. Yet, I do feel sorry for those who WERE victims to it’s false advertising. Looking at it now through the movie’s trailer alone, I really wish it WAS a movie about a talking, rapping, Jacket-wearing, Sunglasses-sporting, Kangaroo who constantly outsmarts two friends and is the TRUE main star of the film. Kangaroo Jack deserves a reboot, one where Jackie Legs is the REAL star, and not just used as a marketing tactic…
