  • You're talking about wrestling and used a berserk ost as the background music. I think I found my new favorite channel

    • D T Me too! One pattern I’ve noticed is that they do not often go 100% live. Damaging to the body. They’ll play at 50% and just wrestle through positions without much talking or communication. I think it’s there that they believe the most learning occurs. I am not certain

      @wrestlingscience@wrestlingscience4 жыл бұрын
    • @@wrestlingscience I've heard the same. They call it 50 / 50 wrestling and it is something that Penn State has heavily adopted. I think it's a great way to wrestle into positions you are trying to understand better and then just work from there.

    • @@wrestlingscience Also I have another question, who are some wrestlers you think have exceptionally good defense to leg attacks? I need to work on my defense and I want to watch some film on great wrestlers with good defense. Also do you have any tips on defense?

      @prophet_alfredo9465@prophet_alfredo94652 жыл бұрын
    • @@prophet_alfredo9465 Frank Chamizo is the first one that comes to mind. He will sometimes invite people to shoot on his legs because he is so comfortable from those positions. But there's so many, Dake, Taylor, Sadulaev, Yianni. Some tips: Don't let people in on your legs to begin with. Keep your head and a downblock hand in between the opponent and your lead leg. If they do happen to get in on your legs, it depends. If its a double leg, get your hips back by hipping into them. If its a single, immediately square up with the opponent to prevent them from running the corner. From here you can grab the wrist of the hand that is not yet touching your leg (if its available). If they have both hands around the leg, whizzer hard to prevent them from coming forward. Keep your free leg back to prevent them from securing both legs. From here you can do something called a "limp leg" to free the attacked leg. Or you can kick out. There is alot of different ideas on how to defend. Some say you should remain square with the opponent, while others say let them run the corner and whizzer/limp leg. I might make a video on the different approaches since its a hard thing to convey in writing
