Throughout his whole UFC career he was under-appreciated and of course, underpaid, compared to other top middleweights. That was the era of prime Conor McGregor, so guys like Gegard who weren’t big trash talkers were not as “well received”. _Before he left UFC, there were talks of him fighting Luke Rockhold (who had just lost his title to Michael Bisping) for a number 1 contender fight sometime in the summer of 2017. In November 2017, Michael Bisping lost the title to Georges St-Pierre, who then vacated shortly afterwards. From there it’s, it’s likely that Gegard Mousasi would’ve fought Robert Whittaker for the vacant middleweight title. The winner would’ve then fought Yoel Romero for their first title defence in mid 2018, and Kelvin Gastelum as their second title defence in early 2019._ Eventually he decided that the UFC weren’t giving him a title shot or the money he wanted, so he moved to Bellator in October 2017, where he has dominated ever since.

Bellator is pretty damn good these days, in the last two years they have been having great matchups, the UFC always goes for the financial gain instead of the hardcore Fan friendly matchmaking, they try to reach more people and Bellator tries to do the best for the fighters and the hardcore fans. And they have a LOT of young and really talented fighters nowadays. You should give them a try.

And they have a LOT of young and really talented fighters nowadays. You should give them a try.
