No one could know he liked this song and that we were close but even without speaking English I heard him singing along to it while he was on my right side seat while we drove happy through our shitty city. He even had a WhatsApp audio message saved in his phone of me singing along to the song that I learned he would constantly play while we were not together. I gave my heart to break to this guy, he never broke it and if we had had more time and maturity to just leave the place where we were, I'm sure he would do and be the exact opposite of what this song says, 'cause I guess that's the meaning of these lyrics to me, find someone who would do exactly the opposite. Unfortunately he got killed with only 27 years old and every time I listen to this song (and any other times too) I still feel kinda left in that time. And not only that, but seen as desirable, sweet, talented, etc. Knowing she is transgender, shouldn't change anything, and pointing it out shouldn't be seen as negative or positive in itself. Context is important.

It's actually really surprising to me that she isn't bigger than she is. Not that 2.5 and 3.5 million views on 2018 songs are anything to turn your nose up at, but shocked she doesn't have more. Most people would instantly recognize the "I don't want it at all" chorus, but probably wouldn't link it back to Kim Petras. Checks off all the boxes for a pop star, including a legitimately great voice (check out any live performance). Doesn't let being transgender define her or her image, but also seems to embrace it as well, which you would think would get her more visibility. Amazing story, and I expect her to really take off further into the mainstream very soon.
All of the people that act like they cared because of the trans thing already got the biggest story out of her they are ever going to get. The people that actually like her are a bit dispersed, I think. I would like to see her get bigger, she sounds great. Maybe reprise some of her earlier songs without too much synth... Listen to someone like T.I if you want someone who also always uses auto-tune and you will hear the robotic nature of the sounds. While some people use auto-tune very minimally, it just fills in the voice as an extra layer. There is no pitch correction on this song and pitch is only one aspect to singing. Mind you, I find this type of music mindless untalented repetitive garbage and there are literally millions of people who can sing as well and who can easily reproduce this song. Still, no auto-tune!

She touches on one of the problems in the world. People are so focused on trying to put a label to everything, they are missing that those labels do not define who someone is. Ms. Petras is transgender, but that is just one facet of who she is, and is not what defines who she is. Reading that quote, she wants to be known as a musical artist.

Had no idea she was trans when I found her in 2020. Played her music for my NYE party and everyone fell in love. Personally, it’s been interesting to love the music of someone who’s transitioned. I hate that admission but Kim changed my perspective. I love her

@@definitiveentertainment1658 It wasn't legal, that's the point. She desperately needed the surgery and was willing to fight long and hard and search far and wide to find someone willing to do it. She has no regrets, and she shouldn't.

Idk how old you are but when I was 16 I sure as well wasn’t mature enough to make a life-altering decision like that. We know that the human brain isn’t fully developed until the 20’s. @@definitiveentertainment1658 Of course I would, it's one thing not trusting a teenager to know their entire future right off the bat- but almost every single transgender person know's their GENDER as early as a young kid, without any prompting. Not knowing what job or life you'll have when you're older- is a hell of a lot different than knowing your literal gender. I'm sure right off the bat you realized 'Of course I'm male/female, I FEEL male/female and I won't change my mind", So don't assume that a 16 year old can't make this decision either. If you've never had to make this decision- then you can't say shit because you've never been in that position.
