  • Just to respond to Ferguson, this war is not only important because of Ukraine, but also because it's against Russia, that makes this conflict stand out from other current conflicts. It's a war with huge global implications.

  • 1) DON`T MIX UP GOVERNMENT OPINIONS AND PEOPLE OPINIONS - in China nobody can openly have an anti-government-opinion, same in Iran, N.Korea, Syria, SaudiArabia, all Arabia in fact. 2) In countries like Brasil, India, South Africa, Nigeria etc. the intelligence level of average population is quite low and can be easily influenced by their governments. Same problem in Russia - rural Russians are spending most time with wodka and not with mental education.

    • So what is wrong with that? Let countries govern themselves and work with international partners in their own best interest. Americans are amongst the most less informed people about other country's culture, tradition and history in the world!!!! Like wise most western countries citizens. Most citozems former colonised States in the global south know exactly every thing horrid about their former colonisers 😅

  • It is not a matter of being on one side or the other but of solving a conflict for which there are various reasons.. These reasons are unfortunately not known in public..

    • I guess you were asleep on Feb. 24, 2022. If we are not on Ukraine's side it will perish. To say it's a conflict because of various issues is disingenuous. Countries always have various issues but Russia invaded Ukraine on that day in an attempt to overthrow its government. Russia has been illegally occupying parts of Ukraine since 2008. These facts are crystal clear.

  • Ukraine is leading the thought on how to deliver decolonisation. Non western world countries, some of them for sure, might be able to relate to that development and might be able to enter into mutually beneficial exchanges with Ukraine. I suspect this is incredibly important to all of us, including Canadians and our reconciliation efforts with our indigenous peoples.

    • Decolonization movements in the second half of the 20th century, in Africa and Asia had frequently relevant communist componenents and were supported by the Soviet Union. It could correctly be argued that the Soviet Union was an empire, but so was the USA, and in the Cold War many third-world countries prefered to support the former.

What the Western rhetoric are ironical, Ukraine is Ukraine problems that not my problems. Yes I am affected indirectly. So what if Ukraine win thus that better my life.

  • Russian escalation is far more dangerous than the nuclear sabre rattling, that is bringing chaos to other parts of the world simultaneous with their war in Ukraine. We become distracted by these adventures for good reason, even the exact same reason that we are committed to Ukraine. We feel, justly so, the need to be committed to these other peoples of the world.

    @mikeklein4949@mikeklein49497 ай бұрын
  • 15:15 now this one makes sense. The only way to solve this issue is to look at the root cause of the problem. If we just blame Russia and we think that's all. This war will never end. All wars going on around the world should be looked at and ask ourselves really why.
