I was just too young to remember the 90s so to me this is the best newcastle team I have ever seen, its unbelievable I love this team man
Same for me as I'm 21.
The team of the 90s, that of the 95-96 season, the first half of the season, we were electric and as an attacking threat, were streets ahead of Eddie's charges, but we were sloppy defensively, i think overall, Eddie's approach is better, just hope we cant just game to game with the same intensity
@@johnson_street_IEMD yes that's true. It's amazing what we are doing. Back then we had Shearer or Ferdinand or Asprilla up front to lead the line. Today we had Chris Wood. LOL. The difference is the defence. ROCK SOLID this team. You could never say that about the 90s team.

Bruno's pass into Almiron was a thing of beauty, perfect placement, weight and pace, so good Miggy did not have to break his run, the rest was someone playing with supreme confidence 😀 exquisite finish ala Messi

What's more, it was Bruno that started the play with a great turn in traffic, then switches the field to Trippier, then flies up the field to be in position to receive and make the pass to Almiron.
@@JaddBoyden yes broken play up, bit of quick feet Brazilian magic, then in place to play a simple but devastating pass which took 3 defenders
Miggy's close control in the box is unparalleled. Moving at pace and the ball never leaves his foot. Oh, and THAT pass into him from Bruno was exquisite.

That second goal. Wow. Bruno did a little turn that wasn't shown here just before he sprays it out to Trips, who then dinks a lovely one over the top on for Miggy to run on to, back to Bruno who covered a lot of ground to deliver an inch perfect ball into Miggy's path who delicately slots it into the corner. You can have all your top corner smashers but this goal was absolutely gorgeous to me. I made some inappropriate noises during that passage of play I'll tell you. Stunning football. This team just keeps getting better and better and some may argue it's not even a full strength side. Eddie Howe knows exactly what he's doing and will surely be regarded as a World Class coach by now. The game management in the second half was supreme. Protect the lead, no silly risks. Yes it would be nice to be hammering forward all the time but the way Howe has the lads playing is bringing the points home with clean sheets and I can't complain about a thing, which feels very rare as a Newcastle supporter! I'm noticing much lower anxiety levels watching the games these days, second half I was actually relaxed. And a special mention to the fans who travelled, what a performance from them. Consistently showing up home teams with your singing. Love it.
Yeah I can't believe they cut out the build up to the goal, even before the Bruno spin. Schar pinging it long to Joelinton, who controls it, looks like he's going to be tackled then does a Joelinton special and magically keeps the ball through strength and skill. It just sums up how we play perfectly.
This team impressed me a lot in the premier league, what a season they are having and what a trust that management have put in manager and players. I wish this team finish first in league.
Six straight wins, the only team to have done that so far this season, we mean business, well played guys it's like the world cup never happened coming back from the mid-season break and banging in the goals, keeping clean sheets, playing beautiful football, still in the cup mix, challenging for the premier league, having a manager that is in my opinion the best English manager at this time potentially world class if things continue the way it does...what more can we ask for, it's a dream to be a Newcastle supporter. Still early days but January can be massive with possible signings and the Arsenal game setting the tone. Life's Good, Magpies for life

I didn’t see that celebration by Bruno Guimaraes from his tackle, that was the highlight I wanted to see. That to me summed up the spirit of the win even more than Almiron’s beautiful goal. The fighting spirit of the team is immense.
