amazing street performer or busker | cobra flute music played by the snake charmer
there are many street performer in the world . we also oftern see these performer in the street of banhladesh .
Street performance or busking is the act of performing in public places for gratuities. In many countries the rewards are generally in the form of money but other gratuities such as food, drink or gifts may be given. Street performance is practiced all over the world and dates back to antiquity. People engaging in this practice are called street performers or buskers.
Performances are anything that people find entertaining. Performers may do acrobatics, animal tricks, balloon twisting, caricatures, clowning, comedy, contortions, escapology, dance, singing, fire skills, flea circus, fortune-telling, juggling, magic, mime, living statue, musical performance, puppeteering, snake charming, storytelling or reciting poetry or prose, street art such as sketching and painting, street theatre, sword swallowing, and ventriloquism.
Snake charming is the practice of appearing to hypnotize a snake by playing and waving around an instrument called a pungi. A typical performance may also include handling the snakes or performing other seemingly dangerous acts, as well as other street performance staples, like juggling and sleight of hand. The practice is most common in India, though other Asian nations such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Malaysia are also home to performers, as are the North African countries of Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia.
Ancient Egypt was home to one form of snake charming, though the practice as it exists today likely arose in India. It eventually spread throughout Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and North Africa. Despite a sort of golden age in the 20th century, snake charming is today in danger of dying out. This is due to a variety of factors, chief among them the recent enforcement of a 1972 law in India banning ownership of snakes. In retaliation, snake charmers have organized in recent years, protesting the loss of their only means of livelihood, and the government has made some overtures to them.
Many snake charmers live a wandering existence, visiting towns and villages on market days and during festivals. During a performance, snake charmers may take a number of precautions. The charmer typically sits out of biting range and the snake is sluggish and reluctant to attack anyway. More drastic means of protection include removing the creature's fangs or venom glands, or even sewing the snake's mouth shut. The most popular species are those native to the snake charmer's home region, typically various kinds of cobras, though vipers and other types are also used.
Although snakes are able to sense sound, they lack the outer ear that would enable them to hear the music. They follow the pungi that the "snake charmer" holds with their hands. The snake considers the person and pungi a threat and responds to it as if it were a predator.
cobra snake is mostly used snake for this game . they also show various kind of snake .

  • Fun Fact: Snake charming has nothing to do with the music. Snakes dont have external ears so they dont hear the music. The snake actually feels threatened, rises up in a defensive pose and their movement is in sync with the guy playing the instrument. Sad Fact: Cruelty is sometimes involved. Once caught, their fangs are removed and mouths sewn shut so they can't bite the charmer. They die a horrible death of starvation that can take months. Thereafter, the charmer simply goes out to capture another snake.

    • Indian Cobras do. However, the snake is likely non-venomous as the performer usually has the sacks removed for his safety and the audiences. Cobras strike incredibly fast, able to move the entire length of their body in 1 second.

      @jaredouimette1@jaredouimette13 жыл бұрын
    • Actually these are Spectacled cobras, regardless of Indian, Afrian, Asian, a spectacled cobra will always have that design on the hood just as a monocle cobra will always have a circle. Also, removing the venom glands is not very effective as they can grow back and usually do. So, the performers will often break the fangs off, as elapids have fixed fangs rather than hinged fangs, like vipers, which shed and grow back. They then see the cobras mouths shut. It's truly a disgusting practice and its obvious that they are just wanting to get away when they continually turn away and try to flee. Because the snakes cannot eat without fangs/with the mouth sewn shut, they die within 4 to 6 months. These men need to have their asses beat for this shit.
