    • @@m20047 Taylor Swift’s “1989” and Carly Rae Jepsen’s “E•MO•TION” were wayy ahead of The Weeknd’s “After Hours” and Dua Lipa’s “Future Nostalgia”. Swift’s 1989 came out in 2014 and Jepsen’s E•MO•TION in 2015! The Weeknd released After Hours in 2020 and Dua Lipa released Future Nostalgia in 2020. If there’s any copycats, it’s been happening since 2015. You’re sort of late to notice this now lol... No shame about it but just wanted to give the credit of this trend to Swift and Jepsen, because they came first in terms of huge pop stars starting this trend.

      @moonscape_3767@moonscape_37673 жыл бұрын
    • @@moonscape_3767 i never said they invented the retro trend lmao, i’m talking. about their impact. You cannot denny they made the 80's synth aesthetic super popular last year to the point where its become unoriginal and overdone, majority of the music industry and fashion followed the 80's aesthetic and its clearly from the impact of after hours and future nostalgia. And yeah 1989 was a huge pop era but its aesthetic and sound wasn’t pulled from the same time era as future nostalgia and after hours. Yes E.mo.tion did have the 80's aesthetic dua and the weekend have but didn’t have nearly big of as impact as them and i’m talking about the impact it had on the music industry and the fashion world not about who did it first.

    @_JM-@_JM-3 жыл бұрын
    • When you’re singing you’re stretching your vowels, Americans stretch their vowels when they talks. which is why she sounds American. If this is wrong please correct me

      @christopherpersaud9792@christopherpersaud97923 жыл бұрын
    • @@christopherpersaud9792 I think it's actually kind of the opposite. We sing with taller vowels (like "ah" in call instead of a bright and spread a like in cat) and we generally drop most of our r's because American r's sound god awful when sung (except in country music for example, where that's an intentional part of the style). Like how she says "sugah-boo" instead of a harsher "sugER-boo". So we actually sound sort of quasi-British when we sing. Diction is fun.
