Max later declared he never intended to be that close to Perez before he spun out of control. But why he ended up there anyway must still be a mistery then. There certainly wasn't a gap in that turn he could dive into. And it doesn't look that Perez suddenly overly lifted. Also, neither of them seemed to have locked up their brakes either. So it probably must have been a misjudgment on his side, going into that turn with too much speed, which forced him to go wide, ending up right after Perez.

This race is the best race of 2020 for a reason, not just because Seb who had a podium or Lewis having an excellent drive from P6 to a win but also because of the sheer number of overtakes, mistakes, and drama that comes with it and also that last lap battle for P2 and P3 is so intense too.

Grinding the inters into slicks was 🤯
a whole 'nother level💯
@7scrib My understanding is, generally the guys are on the racing line, which dries, overheats and degrades the inters quickly. Guys with more experience and time look for the wet to cool the inters periodically, extending their life. That said, Lewis' tyres were still worn to slicks at the end.
I really feel Bad for Lance, He didnt want to pit, He was forced to pit and lost the race win/a podium, his teammate who didnt pit got P2. Ouch.

And this time they wanted him to pit. He did not pit he did not just lose the 1st place but ended up being 8th. Russia Grand Prix.

Lewis has this unique level of feel for the car, he almost never spins or puts it in the wall, in practice, qualifying, and race.
