    • @@froknowsphoto 0:00 - 2:50 4:35 - 4:55 2 minutes 50 plus 20 seconds is 3 minutes 10 seconds, the video is six minutes 19 seconds. if you want to be favorable to yourself, it would be 1:33, still roughly a quarter of the video dedicated to ads if it gets yall good money congrats, but there are times where it becomes ridiculous.

    • I’m in the same boat. It’s frustrating. My understanding is regardless of what brand your into, when they come out with new product, they all do the same thing. Now if canon comes out with unlocking features based on a subscription, I will probably just put the camera down and get on to other things.

    • The rx 1 is smaller than the x100 series. Only way it's larger is its lens and sensor. I could see it being pretty small if they don't go with a retro design

    • Yeah, the GFX50R sort of body with a fixed f2.8 lens wouldn’t be too huge imo. Not pocketable, but still an interesting product.

    • @@jordansparks7422the RX1 gets that smaller because it has no EVF, if that did comeback it should emulate how the Leica Q series does the EVF. From what I’ve experienced the Q2 and Q3’s viewfinders are every good and enhance the shooting experience/usability.

    • everyone talks about the camera and it potentially being 'small enough' to be possible...remember it has to have a medium format sized lens on the front of it and none of them are small. They are massive, heavy and I don't think it would be 'smaller than I think'...it will have to be as large as I know it has to be. Can't see this happening.

  • I have an X100V and it’s a great camera to carry around on days out. I have no particular interest in the x100VI as the 40mp isn’t reason enough to “upgrade”. I have a Canon 5Div and that suits me for when I need a full frame camera. As a hobbyist, replacing my DSLR with a mirrorless camera offers no particular advantage. My money is better spent on new glass that expands on what photo genres I can try. My next lens is likely to be a second hand T&S lens.

  • Canon brass gave Fuji huge present by ending the EOS-M line. Canon m6ii with 22mm is much better than the X100V.

  • dont split from Allen's TOO soon. im going to be in Philly about 1030 to see the USS New Jersey in dry-dock. its an hour long tour (I think) and then i figure about 30-40 minutes up to the shop. i already ordered and received from there, instead of my local CS about 45 miles away, because i was going to come up and say hi.

    • @@kyletownsend3102 Yeah, why is everyone ignoring the 50R and 50S, Fuji medium format "rangefinder" cameras already on sale? I don't get it. Sure, the lens will be more compact, because it can be integrated more inside the body - but it would be a slower lens. And the total size would not be closer to that of the X100. Not even remotely. But I don't see the point. It would cost €3000 - €4000, but without the option to change lenses? That would be a terrible investment.

  • The problem I have with Fuji is they can't keep up with the demand they have. While a MF 100V variant is here nor there, I think they should get their production line in order for what they already have on order and possible future demands for say the next 6-12 months before they introduce something new, or they are going to end up like some past companies (some non-past camera companies) who were too aggressive and it actually hurt them because they couldn't deliver on a ll of the promies (and by deliver, I mean both technologically and also in actuality, meaning they couldn't deliver actual product to consumers in time, and those consumers went elsewhere). Now, with MF there are fewer players particularly in this price point so Fuji may be a bit "safer" in that regard (Hasselblad, Sigma and PhaseOne likely won't release a competitor any time soon and at that price point). Based on the fact the GFX50 series was about $5k and is s till about $3500 when on sale, my guess is that an X100 variant is likely to be somewherea round $6k - $7k probably when new, and maybe even as crazy as $10k if it's a 100MP version, which is basically crazy. The GFX50 was small itself and I think what would happen is people would rather just buy that and save literally THOUSANDS than one that looks different and has a built-in lens. Now, having a built in lens would mean the user doesn't have to pay extra for one, so a $10k 100MP version may make sense when you consider you're not spending say $2k on a lens. In either case, if it exceeds $5k I don't think many people are going to buy it though especially with the huge discounts the GFX50 serises has had over the years (it's been enough I had considered buying one on sale or used but then again it's a huge price to pay when my 45MP FF cameras do just fine and I already own them and the glass for them---nothing against Fuji, just hard to justify another $5k-$6k for a non-professional).

  • Fujifilm can barely keep up with the demand for X100VI. Making a medium format fixed lens camera would be counterproductive. Just make more X100VI’s.

  • Regarding the medium format question, I can't see that being true (or a good decision). It seems like totally different markets/customers and the key aspects of the X100 won't translate over to the type of people buying medium format. Plus, if you're going to spend a bunch of money for medium format, you may not be happy with a single focal length.

  • A medium format X100 would not be an X100. They could appropriately name it ‘Monstro’. Or M100 starting with the A version if they wanted to hide that M stood for Monstro. Of course there would never be a B version because they would never sell more than a handful of Monstros.

  • I would buy a GFX fixed lens camera well before I would buy one of the current GFX interchangeable lens cameras, at the very least.

    • Why? It would be $3000-4000 but without the option the change lenses. You can put a Iris 45mm F1.4 or a Mitakon 65mm F1.4 on the current GFX bodies and adapt many other lenses, vintage or new. A fixed lens GFX would have a slower lens, like F2.8 or F3.5. You invest in a pricy GFX camera with no option to use the full potential of the bigger sensor.

  • wow... it's been long since somebody last trashtalked a rumor we have shared with this fervor... not sure if our rumor deserves this treatement, as I know for a 100% fact that I am accurate. But anyway... Jared... if you consider a certain rumor we share just clickbait garbage, I advice you not to feed your viewers with such garbate rumors.... that's at least if you care about your community and your viewers. And... who said the fixed lens GFX would come May 16? Certainly not FujiRumors.... and not even SAR (who just quoted FR).

    • @@froknowsphoto actually I have shared the rumor (and SonyAlphaRumors quote me).... so by implying the rumor is likely just made up or unrealiable stuff, you are telling all your viewers FujiRumors can't be trusted (as the rumor comes from FR). That's discrediting my work and my sources. And as you can imagine that is not really something that is nice to hear. You are free to think this is BS. But then, please, if it is BS, then just be fair to your viewers and don't feed them with stuff you consider made up BS.

    • yeah people there are kind of insane. But honestly anybody not happy with what they already have is insane. The benefit to the R1 for 99.999999% of photographers is basically zero. I mean so what? If you can't get good pictures with current gen cameras you won't be able to get good pictures with next gen cameras. I think it's ridiculous to learn about what's coming next in anything other than a curiosity capacity unless you might actually be in the market for one of the cams. Even then, if you already have a good cam... who tf cares bro. Guess it's better than spending it on drugs but sheesh.
