Southwest Airlines is stopping operations at four airports and slashing flights at others as part of cost-cutting measures that the company's CEO says could also include cabin reconfigurations and the end of single-class seating. Zach Wichter, a consumer travel reporter for USA Today, joined CBS News to discuss the changes.

  • How about updating your hardware and reservation systems to something from the late 2000's? 🙂

  • I think they should change their boarding to assigned seats because too many people are abusing the wheelchair situation and pre-boarding that don't even need it because a lot of the times they will ask if you can walk please stand up and all of a sudden a c group person goes on first and it takes away from that business class person that purchased that a group and now they're stuck in the middle of the plane now they've wasted their money. Too many people are abusing the I need a specific seat and get automatic pre-boarding no matter what because they don't like where they're sitting it's an abomination of abuse and the only way to mitigate this is to have assigned seating and if you want to sit up front you need to pay that extra the only ones that should be allowed on board early are people with service animals or people in a wheelchair that absolutely cannot walk and need the service

    • I hope you or a family member don’t have to depend on a wheelchair for assistance. It’s very degrading to have to be pushed through the airport. I have a bad knee, had surgery on it and yes I can walk some, but not over a huge airport. Mind your business! You don’t have a clue of what people are experiencing in their bodies. Shame on you.
