  • Maybe the book was a trophy for keeping in Walt's twisted mind. He didn't kill Gale directly but conspired and wanted him dead even before the whole scene played out. Walt seems to take something from each victim such as a preference like cutting the crust off of bread or the rhetoric you mentioned where he echoed Mike's words to Lydia.

    • Thank god I saw Ozymandias back in the day. Never felt the same thing ever again, the first time watching it, when you've been watching the construction of this show for years along, makes it even more special.

  • Remember, just a few episodes back, the episode that ended with the shot of the watch Jesse got Walt for his birthday ominously sitting on his nightstand, tick, tick, ticking down, as if ticking off the seconds to Walt’s inevitable doom? Go back and take another look at that shot; the watch is actually sitting on top of that Leaves of Grass book. That’s why I said I said in the comments that I couldn’t even say (yet) why that shot was such a masterpiece, and more proof that this show is intended to be watched through more than once.

  • Walt has always had his drinks neat until now that Mike's dead. This time with Hank he had his drink on the rocks just like Mike did. Walt continues to take on the traits of his victims, like cutting the crusts off his sandwiches the way Crazy-8 preferred.

  • Seeing just how far Walt has gone is insane. Vince Gillian was true to his word when he wanted Walter White to go from Mr. Chips to Scarface. I also still remember watching this on TV for the first time in 2012 and right when the episode ended, realizing I had to wait a full year to see the conclusion of the season and the show as a whole was like a form of torture due to how Hank finally puts the pieces together as to who Heisenberg is, especially since Walt left that book in the bathroom. What a way to have a mid season finale and great reactions guys, I hope you’re both doing well. Take care!

  • Walt is definitely the villain based on the choices he’s made. If you don’t realize that after he let Jane die (or before) then you missed the point of the whole show. You need to watch Better Call Saul now for more Mike.

  • Queen for a day means you can tell the cops exactly what you know/have done without fear of them using that information against you IF a deal is NOT made based on that information. So say your information is not very good but it’s still incriminating… well, it’s an agreement that the state will not use that information that you revealed against you. It’s not a formal agreement.. more like a gentlemen’s agreement. Hope this helps!

  • Queen for a day is basically a precursor for a deal. You tell the court information you believe could be helpful to the government and they win't use it against you. Generally, if they accept it, you have to testify "truthfully." If you don't follow through or the information turns out to be bad, then they can go ahead and prosecute you or sentence you, as the case may be. If the prosecution doesn't follow through, you can file an an action to enforce the agreement.

  • "Queen for a Day" is slang for a proffer agreement. It means that you tell the state basically all the illegal and criminal things you've ever committed under the agreement that you won't be charged for them as long as the authorities don't find out different nor you go around blurring the story in interviews or elsewhere. It was Dennis' lawyer's way of giving him a means of immunity, even though it's not technically legal immunity, and essentially looking to rat on the whole operation. That's why Dennis suffered the worse death - word got to Todd's Nazi associates that Dennis was going to be a snitch which is the worst thing you can be in jail. It's also why Keefe D, who admitted he was part of the Tupac murder, thought that his Queen for a Day proffer meant he had immunity about it, but made the mistake of doing interviews for years, changing his story, and recently having Las Vegas DP raid his house for evidence to charge him for it.

  • Between everyone else Walt has killed so far, or could still potentially kill, there really seems to be very little Heisenberg can’t do in terms of cutting loose ends. Walter wanted to be the new Jesse James, Scarface, and honestly? I think he might’ve very well succeeded all too well. Have to be honest, almost every scene with Walter White in Season 5 is downright unsettling. Watching the show for myself recently, I honestly don’t remember the last time I was so terrified of a villain the way I was scared of Walter White. I sometimes wonder the million dollar question. Who’s more scared of Heisenberg? Everyone in the show? Or us, the audience?

  • For me, the entire show is an indictment of law enforcement in the USA. Right under their noses, both Gus and Walt, and no one ever suspected them. And even with the evidence pointing at them still couldn't work it out. Hank never put it together: High skill set Walt suddenly got a load of money, funny behaviour car crash at laundry black eye and plenty other clues Dumb luck tipped him off

    @innercircle341@innercircle341 Жыл бұрын
    • You're saying all of this because of how the story is presented, being an audience member with all the information. Most of Walt's actions don't look suspicious outside of that.

  • 6:01. Here's the information on Mike's 10 men killed during this scene: 01. Dan Wachsberger; the lawyer hired by Mike to defend the other 9 men & was making drops of hazard pay money to keep their silence. Also, if you watch the behind the scenes for this episode it's revealed that Dan is talking to his own lawyer about his wife & kids before he gets stabbed. 02. Ron Forenall; Madrigal warehouse foreman who supplied chemicals to Gus' meth empire & Lydia turned over to police in Fifty-One. 03. Andrew Holt; enforcer for Gus that appeared in Problem Dog & was mentioned by Dennis in Hazard Pay. 04. Jack McGann; enforcer for Gus. 05. Isaac Conley; enforcer for Gus. 06. Harris Boivin; enforcer for Gus that was sent to kill Walt & his family in Face Off. 07. Raymond Martinez; enforcer for Gus that was sent to kill Walt & his family in Face Off. 08. Anthony Perez; enforcer for Gus that was mentioned by Dennis in Hazard Pay. 09. William Moniz; enforcer for Gus. Also, if you watch the behind the scenes for this episode it's revealed that his actor did the stunt of being thrown off the balcony & landed on a pile of cardboard boxes. 10. Dennis Markowski; manager of Gus' laundromat where the lab was in the basement that let Gomez investigate in End Times & was told by Mike his wife would get his hazard pay money. The prison killings are inspired by the baptism scene in The Godfather where the 5 rival gang leaders are killed on orders by Michael while here the 10 witnesses are killed by Jack's men on orders by Walt.

  • Walt is a genius, he thinks of every scenario. But he's still human and there's human error. He made ONE mistake. They couldn't catch him otherwise and he got out clean. It just so happens that his DEA brother-in-law had to take a shit in his bathroom and needed reading material. It's easy to say Walt is dumb for leaving the book but he's not dumb, he just overlooked one aspect while trying to keep everything else in order. Nothing will ever be the same now.
