  • Speaking of Harvey’s placement in the cypher and her introducing a new flow/vibe, I thought I would share something I saw from a Japanese fan abt the order the girls went in for this cypher: There is a Japanese word "起承転結"，the structures of traditional Japanese narratives. 起 introduction 承 development 転 twist 結 conclusion this cypher kinda follows that rule Once I saw this, Harvey’s placement in the video made so much more sense to me

  • There are tons pre-debut stuff on them. There’s a rap Tape #1 of Jurin (leader) & Harvey (rapper). You guys will enjoy their stuff and getting to know them. Their inspo’s Lauryn Hill, Mary J Blige, Beyoncé, TLC, etc true hip hop artists. They like the hip hop r & b era of the 90s/2000s. In an interview Cocona (the maknae) at 6 yrs old started rapping to Lauryn Hill. These girls exude THAT swag!! Enjoy your discovery and journey. I rock with these girls, they do hip hop right. Rap line can sing, Vocal line can rap. Rap n Vocal lines can dance gracefully and on point! They are sensible, intelligent and funny during interviews.   • XG is a seven member global pop girl group consisting of four rappers, three vocalists, and all of them could be considered main dancers. They are all Japanese, that were recruited and primarily trained in Japan using the K-POP system. They then did additional training in South Korea, where they currently are based out of. Some people label them as J-POP because they are Japanese and some people label them as K-POP because they were trained under the K-POP system and are based in & promote in South Korea. But, their agency, XGALX, is trying to avoid both of those labels and insists they are global pop. They have released four songs, all in English. (Debut) Tippy Toes, (first comeback) Mascara, (newest comeback) Shooting Star, (b-side) Left Right. Their additional released content is in Japanese, Korean, and English. XG Move = highlights their dancing skills. XG Tape = highlights their rap skills. XG Vox = highlights their singing skills.

  • These 4 are the rap line of the group XG. All 7 are Japanese, speak Korean and English. Their singles are all english tracks. They chose their own tracks for the cypher. The entire group gets inspiration from Western artists. Cocona actually said she would love to collab with Tyler the Creator. Other influences is TLC, Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Taylor Swift, Sza. They just released their best song and newest single 2 weeks ago, "Shooting Star". The b-side of that release is equally good. They just debuted March last year, but have been training in Korea for 5 years. Anything of theirs is worth reacting to. Enjoyed and thanks!

    • They are going back and forth between Japan and Korea. Their debut was about two years behind schedule because of COVIT-19. During the pandemic, Japan had strict entry/exit restrictions, so I don't know if they were in Japan or Korea at that time.

    • @@itsmausu7399 Wrong. You've been posting this everywhere even after people corrected you so many time. They were trained in Japan solid under this Avex project, some of them were only 5th grader when they first started. They visited Korea maybe but it was well after Avex had launched the business there. Probably close to 2 years before preparing pre debut and for localization (especially for the language). So stop posting the thing without any source. We know Koreans soreaded rumors about them being under YG when they just rented their studio. Still many people believe that they were YG trainees when they weren't. Besides there's no rapper instructors there that can make better the talent at this level. You know the level of the rappers in Japan been so strong and they grew up in it.

    • 'freestyle' as used in Korea isn't what's considered a freestyle elsewhere, likewise 'cypher', it generally seems to be used there to mean putting different lyrics over an existing beat. Personally I think actual freestyles(which never really are anyway, they always have phrases in mind) are pointless anyway, and often sound bad (and often juvenile, relying largely on insults)

Pre 1990 music from Korea was unique and they were using western cadences in singing and especially rapping but that was destroyed thru censorship by the government for promoting "dissent" aming the youth. Thats when this boy band sound was pushed hard and the young girls loved so...the rest is history. To use an existing beat has always existed. Back in the '90s we called it "dubbed in" and i understand Kpop has found its sound but for me... Im old school and to see how relaxed they are and how their body language exudes old school shwag. Even if this was free verse rap...im still highly impressed with the east coast cadences they maintain through three languages fluidly. That, to me, a person is born with that gift and presto...four of them in one group. Mind blowing.

  • They are definitely consistent. The group XG is 7 girls from Japan who are based in Korea and mostly make music in English. They haven’t had a full album yet, just three singles. There are the four rappers and three amazing singers. They debuted with Tippytoes, then Mascara and Shooting Stars came out just a couple weeks ago. Their dance practices are no joke either. They are definitely all rounders, especially impressive for their young age (Chisa being the oldest at 21 and Cocona the youngest at 17.)

  • Harveys rap in XG Tape #1 Chill Bill (Jurin and Harvey only) is quite different then in Tape #2 its much harder...they are the rappers of the group theres actually 7 members 3 singers 4 rappers...a few songs with all members are Tippy Toes, Mascara, Shooting Star and Left Right.

  • These girls are 🔥🔥🔥 They say they live 90s and 2000s hip hop and R&B. You can tell in their flows. They also have 3 main vocalists and when they sing they have that soulful old school sound. Fellas, if your going to explore XG, I suggest doing Tape 1 "Chill Bill" video with Jurin and Harvey to get a better example of both of their skill as rappers. Then go to the full songs featuring all the group members. "Tippy Toes", "Mascara", "Shooting Star", and "Left Right". Nice reaction ✌🏾
