Honestly as a habs fan it feels so good having Dach, a 3rd overall who seems to be developing well, after going through Galchenyuk and Kotkaniemi... Kent Hughes and St-Louis are a breath of fresh air
Kotkaniemi had up and down career. Going from Game 6 OT hero against maple leafs to Struggling 4 million player in Canes....
@@blackcat-zw5im one goal is an up in a career? lol
@Angry JayByrd wtf are you talking about he wasn’t an all star EVER PERIOD, the amount of ppl who dont know hockey that comment on here is wild
The key is we can't draft them lol
Dach might be what we thought Drouin would be
I’m a hawks fan and I don’t think I’ll ever hate Dach, genuinely glad to see him live up to his potential in Montreal
Stop lieing your mad you missed out on a superstar
@@vax20k27 I’d much rather still have Dach but it’s not his fault he got moved, the hawks were dumb to move him
this!
@@vax20k27 totally looked like a superstar against Makar in OT
Dach is playing with two great players, he brings the physical strength needed to complete this trio, he is the best of this trio to go fight in corners and very often find a way to move the puck to Cole or Nick, in bonus he knows how to score....
“That’s what you get for trading and then booing me!” 😂 Nice goal love it! Get well soon Eck
What happened with him and Cale makar
After an absence in watching hockey for the last decade or so, your videos have gotten me right back into it, Eck. Keep it up, man. Awesome format.
Jomboy-esque... and that's a compliment Eck
I’m literally back after about a decade too… man those years flew by tho. I was shocked to see it’s been since like 2012 that I’ve followed hockey closely
Followed hockey from 1978-1998 and got tired of it for about ten years myself.... Started again in 2008..... Did I _miss much_ ??🤷🏻♂️😜
One of the only times Dach has actually celebrated a goal in Chicago!

He suffered a broken wrist at the WJC in Edmonton. He was playing phenomenal during the bubble playoffs against the Oilers, but that injury set him back in regards to his development. He needed time to recover from that injury.
This! I broke my arm in 2 places & broke my hand. Coming back after all that time off shit was never the same & I quit hockey because of it. I can’t imagine what it’s like trying to get back to the top tier level of hockey.
That’s a relevant reminder.. but since he was playing a total of 88 games with them and often on the top line he must’ve been in decent shape.. it was disappointing to not see him put up more points, he also looked very frustrated most of what I remembered.. but I must say I’m happy his career is taking better shape now.. if the crowd boos him hard then I don’t blame him for the celly.. interesting that they let him have that chance from Montreal.. does he normally get to shoot SO for them?
He was a massive disappointment before the bubble playoffs and was only notable for getting lit up by guys way smaller than him

Last picture from the habs bench shows all the passion these guys have for their game. The future is bright in Montréal!
The past is bright too. They are the first hockey team. And they have 24 banners hanging going back to 100 years . I’m a Knights fan and when I see Suzuki play , I’m reminded of a big time mistake. One of many in my eyes . But glorious times ahead for sure
I gotta say thanks to you, man. I’ve been real distracted this year, and your channel along with THG keep me informed. Get better soon man
the habs are so exciting to watch this year
I was confused why Dach would taunt the crowd there, but I didn’t hear the audio of the fans booing him before he even shot. I didn’t think the fans were so upset with his lack of development that they’d boo him, and I didn’t think he asked for the trade out of Chicago. Glad you discussed that at the end of the video, I definitely understand the situation better now! PS also hope you feel better soon!
there is a large difference between the casual run of the mill hawks fan and hockey hawks fans. 2 different bases. lol
Seeing Dach play in Saskatoon in the WHL was awesome. Good for him that he's doing well.
Same here, I was born and raised in Saskatoon and a life long Hab fan. Is Dach the first Blade to play on the Habs, I can't think of any.

As a habs fan for over 30 years let’s just say the past decade has been an emotional roller coaster ride. Lots of ups and downs. Mostly downs but I’m starting to finally see the light down the tunnel lol 😂
While it's not the fault of the fans that he got traded, i'd be salty against chicago if I was him too xD. Like i'd call Chicago's management the true villains after they traded away even their young talent in their rebuilding efforts.

The Habs may not be great, but as a neutral, they are a fun watch, night in and night out. A lot of talent and a lot of swagger. I hope the NHL continues trending towards this.

So, if you look at games from previous days, you gotta check out the Jets v Stars game last night. There was some major controversy at the end of regulation (the tying goal was scored with Hellebyuck looking quite unconscious), but it was chaotic the whole way through.
I love that last image freeze, Caufield's position is hilarious haha, Go habs Go!
Honestly if I was Kirby Dach I'd be down to be notorious for literally anything else instead of getting my soul taken by Cale Makar in OT
Hahaha… yeah… Can’t help but feel bad for Dach on that one lol, bro got absolutely demolished by Makar
Great video! Kirby dach on the hawks was all hands and could never put the puck in the net. I'm happy to see him doing better, but he was trash with hawks and he was always too fancy for his own good.
The flu sucks. Hope ya feel better. Love your stuff.
We are very happy to have Kirby with us in Montreal. What the Chicago fans did was not correct. It's not his fault that he was traded and now developed positively.
Was the booing actually more intense because of any history? Feel like its pretty common to boo the away shooter during his attempt. Even more so on a chance to seal the win. I'm not in Chicago anymore, but still have plenty of friends/family there. I don't think anyone had any resentment about him and his time there. However, I'm sure it felt great for him to be the one to win it.
Kind of a "look who’s the fool now" moment for him. Glad to see him doing so well in Montréal !!
Not sure if you’ve been to many games that have gone to a shoot out, but I’ve been to a lot of Kings shoot outs and I haven’t heard anyone boo or even boos to the extent it’s noticeable.
@@btgkg9639 i used to be a season ticket holder for Chicago, so I've been to a ton. Its very common practice there to boo every away shooter

I'm a Ranger fan who goes to all of the different hockey arenas and I was at this game. The entire building knew Dach was gonna score as soon as he stepped on the ice
Hey Eck I know you're a busy guy but I'm wondering if you have heard about the drama in the Dallas vs. Winnipeg last night. Early on in the game a dallas player accidentally dislodged their goalies pad, resulting in a stoppage. Makes perfect sense. At the end of the game the jets have a 2 goal lead, dallas scores after pulling the goalie on a powerplay with 2 minutes left. Then Morrisey shoves Benn out front of the net, Benn falls into Hellebyuck pretty heavily catching his head between him and the goal post, his helmet flying off and resulting in him laying down on his face motionless, the puck literally bounces off his pad as he is laying there and without a hat on, and Dallas still makes a play and scores the whole time he is lying on his face hatless without a whistle not moving. It is called a good goal. It goes to the situation room and deemed not interference. The explanation given is that morrisey pushed Benn which caused the contact. Nobody was looking for an interference call they were wondering why there was no stoppage -- no whistle. Obviously as a jets fan this is totally upsetting. We ended up winning in OT, but I think the entire jets organization as well as us fans want an explanation why there was no stoppage. Connor doesn't need to "sell" that he is hurt. He is not going to get up and catch the puck in his teeth with no hat on, so whether he was exaggerating or not shouldn't make a difference... right? He's done playing the moment his helmet is off either way. It's made even worse that they did stop the play for dallas' goalies dislodged pad which was caused by direct contact from their own player.
Soderblom was the only reason the rockford icehogs made it to the 2nd round in the AHL playoffs and I was at that game and you could tell he was NHL worthy.
Sure had some steals tonight it was lowkey a battle of the goalies last night
@@fabolous514 sadly, hopefully Soderblom becomes the next shesterkin. Picked low in the draft and turned out to be a franchise potential player

As a hawks fan I love it!! I am a big Dach fan but think this trade will work. Frank will be good(guy he got traded for). And let’s not forget he wasn’t the same player after he came back from a wrist injury.
Those hawks jerseys are so nice
AS a Hawks fan. Dach was drafted as a center. He played center for the Hawks. HE SUCKED at FACEOFFS. He averaged enough points that we knew he would ask for a big payday and we had figured out he is a piece to add not one to build around. They traded him while his value was high and Montreal moved him to wing.
As a Hawks fan, we aren’t mad at Kirby. It’s actually kinda funny. He always had issues in Chicago, so we are pretty glad to see he has success somewhere else.
I would like to clarify something, since I was at this game. The crowd boo'd all three of the Canadiens' shooters during the shootout, not just specifically Dach. Not sure if those got picked up on the broadcast or not, or if it was just Dach's. Whole place was on their feet for all of the shootout too. Almost certain most of those boos were not for Dach specifically and moreso because he was the one with the game winning opportunity.
hawks fan. love dach. loved the celly. fans deserved it.
I’m a Chicago fan and i am happy to see Dach succeed. Poor handling on the Hawks side, but what do you expect when it is operation burn it down?
That hit at 0:52 made the head the primary point of contact. I can't judge if it was avoidable or not, but you can clearly see the head snap back.
Rest up eck and thx for the vids
Those blackhawk rr jerseys actually look pretty nice on the ice
Blackhawks retro reverse looks alright in the full uniform
I Come from Slovakia but i must say great job management hubs for kirby dach great steal
They booed him from warm up till the shootout . Good for him
Blackhawks fan here, I loved the celly (sp?). I'm not sure what my fanmates were booing. Dach was brought up to soon, then brought back from an injury too soon also. Thankfully the management team responsible for that mismanagement is gone and there was little doubt that Dach would thrive with a fresh start somewhere else. The trade was a good idea, but only time will tell if it was a good trade.
Eck and THG are my go-to Hockey YT content.
As a lifelong HABS fan (passed down from generations lol), I've seen some good teams put together that have won a cup or two. And teams who should have won a cup or two or at least come close. There's something very different about this version of the HABS. Like the narrator said, "He doesn't expect the HABS to make the playoffs this year" (and frankly I'd be a little surprised also.). BUT, he also says that the HABS are "Must watch hockey this year". Those are two seemingly contradictory statements. But really they in this case they aren't. I completely get what he's saying and I've heard that exact sentiment from multiple hockey analysts so far this year. The Canadiens have some talent on this team that they haven't seen in years. I honestly don't remember a season in the past 2 DECADES or more that they had a scorer in the top 20 or 30 even. It's always the GOALIES that were the stars. But to see what Cole, Nick, Dach, Ghule, Jack-Eye, and company are doing so far has been, well, FUN to watch! And that's not even counting their number 1 pick Slafkovský hopefully eventually reaching his potential as the beast he can be! And lastly, MONTY has been playing like a star! IMHO. Regardless of he can keep it up who knows. But if he can and the staff keep giving him opportunities to stay hot, I'd LOVE to see what he could do with 40-50+ starts! No offense to Allen, but he hasn't been playing close to his usual standards and I'm sure it takes the wind of the team when you let in 3 in the first 2 mins. I know and realize it IS a rebuilding year, so technically wins aren't do or die. But these youngsters want to feel what it's like to win I'm sure. So the goal-tending situation has to improve.
The kids in Montreal forgot it’s a rebuild year ... every-time they hit the ice it’s for a W even when behind you rarely see the look of defeat in their faces
Cool vid wish it were longer
Good for Dach, that was funny as hell.

Hi there. On one of your last videos, I left a comment regarding a sort of clickbait-y tactic you used, asking us to "wait 'till" the end for an answer that never really came. @@jerry9101 Did I mention duration? Where did you read that? Better fix those glasses. Duration has absolutely nothing to do with it. Whether a video is 4 minutes long or 40 minutes long, if you say "watch 'till the end" for something and that something never comes, or isn't even mentioned, it's a bad practice. people forget Dach broke his hand/wrist really bad right before world juniors and he was a stud right before then. if you want to account for the time it takes to truly heal a snapped wrist you should consider this breakout season expected.
