  • A lot of experts on here who think they know how to it better. Sometimes you just have to do what you think is best for the conditions at the time soil types, wet or dry, slope 'etc' with the machine you are using. Its been mentioned that it will wash out if not compacted from my experience that depends on the soil type for example sandy soils such as granite or sandstone it will still erode away to some extent doesnt matter how much it is compacted if its a mixture of cloddy type topsoil and subsoil with organic matter mixed in just just a quick trackroll with dozer usually works fine. Rocky material usually not to many problems. One thing that is important is not driving on the track or road straight after the first lot of rain on it let it dry out and settle first this is not allways possible though. Just my thoughts.

  • Yes it smoothes them out but they’re now a lot softer and ruts will quickly form again with traffic. Add a roller/compactor after the dozer and the road would last 10X as long.

  • Nice dozer. Try dropping the blade and press down just a little and then back up it will make it real smooth and will compress the soil. Grate leveling job you're doing.... I could only dream of having a large dozer like that. Thanks for the video.
