What do train air brakes, alternating current electricity, natural gas, and the weekend all have in common? Answer: George Westinghouse! In this mini-documentary, we explore the life of a forgotten titan who shaped America as we know it but receives only a mere fraction of the recognition he certainly deserves.
Question of the day: Would you rather be a train brakeman or a natural gas flare operator?

If you want to do something good then make sure that you are well protected both personally but also non-personally. For there are those who hates good people doing good and making a fortune out of it BUT ALSO MAKING PEOPLE EVEN BETTER and it is this very act of making people even better that scares evil people for an army of EVEN BETTER PEOPLE WHO ARE AS HARMLESS AS DOVES BUT PROTECTIVE AS VIPERS will overwhelm them all in the long run.

Of ALL of the Pittsburgh industrialists, Only Westinghouse and Heinz were EVER talked about in our home with reverence and NOT derision. The one thing everybody needs to beware of is, no, Tesla didn't invent all of Westinghouse's work: Tesla was a loudmouth with a fixed seat at the bar of the Plaza Hotel and always ready to buy a drink for a newspaper reporter. One such incident involves a man named Nikola Tesla. When Tesla arrived in America he found work with Edison's company. And Edison said that he would give Tesla 50 000 dollars if he could fix his generators. Guess what, Tesla fixed the generator, but when he arrive to collect his pay, Edison simply said: "You don't understand our humor." How low can a rich guy fall?

  • Very inspiring story. I went to Thomas Edison elementary school in Sacramento, CA. Other than him inventing the light bulb and other electricity related inventions, I didn’t know much about Edison particularly his bad side inventing the electric chair and electrifying animals as displayed in this video. I especially did NOT know about his huge rivalry against a much more noble titan in George Westinghouse - his name doesn’t even ring a bell. But taking for granted everything Business Casual has stated in this video, I have much greater admiration for Westinghouse, particularly the way he treated his workers is illustrated in the fact that they never had a strike in a very volatile workplace time period. He proved that you can be extremely successful and a decent human being at the same time. This is a very inspiring story and much credit to Business Casual for introducing this forgotten hero to a larger audience. I still won’t get the Honey app but I do love Business Casual videos.

I stumbled upon your KZhead channel and saw every single video about the people who shaped the modern world. One thing was common among all of them, they were all young when they started their adventure. I worked hard. Now my business has a turn over of a million dollars.
