I do not know anyone in the UK who is scared of revenge from india. India has its own massive problems to be bothering the UK which is why we have been sending foreign aid money in the millions for years. I am not sure why as you have your own nuclear detterent now so you must have enough money. So what is the argument for giving aid? If the country can achieve consensus regarding reality and apply itself to operating within the boundaries imposed by the natural world than they will lead the world. Until then they will remain a developing country divided by the living memory and legacy of a caste system, religious animosity, and the British Raj.

I do not think the UK needs to increase its defence to the size it was in the Empire days. Empires are a thing of the past from before the days of the UN when a country needed to be strong to survive. Thankfully, those days are over, and the world can concentrate on important issues. (Improving living standards of the poor, trade between countries to improve diplomatic relations, research to solve world issues like pollution). Just as the British changed the mind of the world to think that slavery is bad, I hope the same will be said of the word EMPIRE. I am pleased it is now a commonwealth of nations and the overseas territories may leave if they wish (As Jamaica chose to do without fuss recently) and can have a choice to still be a member, so they do not completely cut ties with the UK This commonwealth is much more agreeable and even nations that were once part of the empire have now become members. Pakistan, Bangladesh and India are all members! One more very important aspect of the commonwealth is that ALL nations are equal members, with a goal to increase living standards and support democracy and equality. This all started in a conference in 1926 and does not seem to be taught in Indian schools as the impression I get from the posts here seem to overlook that from 1931, the UK did not force a law it made onto any country in its empire without the consent of the people of that nation.

According to the 2018 Global Slavery Index, 40.3 million people were enslaved worldwide in 2016. I am sure you will not respond to this fact as it seems to be difficult for Indians to accept accountability. The UK did many things it is not proud of and many things it is proud of. Its involvement in the slave trade is something to be proud of as it spent its blood sweat tears and treasure to abolish slavery. In 1833, Britain loaned a huge amount of money and bought every slave in its empire. their freedom. The cost was so huge, the loan was not paid off until 2015. I have personally bought the freedom of slaves with my tax money! These facts are all available on google. LAWS - In 1931, any overseas territory, including India, would have to consent before any law can be made legal This stipulation was formalized officially in Section 4 of the Statute of Westminster in 1931. It stated: 'No Act of Parliament of the United Kingdom passed after the commencement of this Act shall extend, or be deemed to extend, to a Dominion as part of the law of that Dominion, unless it is expressly declared in that Act that that Dominion has requested, and consented to, the enactment thereof.' This is the FACT! "Well (buddy?), I know British people live in a superiority complex" WRONG The British superiority complex does not exist either. Most of our humour is based on self-deprecation. This is the opposite of a superiority complex. We only do so well in wars because we accurately assess how strong other nations are, if a nation does not do this, it will fail. "Not to mention, in UK's earlier times, it was a part of EU." WRONG The EU has nothing to do with security. It is to do with trade. It is only because it also wanted to make our laws for us that we left as we were content with the EU while it was just about trade. NATO provides the security which we are still members of. The difference between you and I is that I provide you with facts so you can check them yourself. If you do wish to continue a conversation, please provide details of your claims so I can check your facts too. I am by no means anti Indian; I am quite the opposite. I have met many Indians, and with the exception of a visit to Mumbai, I have always been delighted with their company. Namaste!
