i grew up in Ohio listening to heavy metal and hiphop. i thought country music sucked, even though i never listened to any of it. then i saw Toby Keith in iraq in 2005 (and again in 2011), and now, i listen to country music more than anything else. it's almost all i listen to. God bless Toby Keith.

Also from Ohio and grew up to 80's hair bands. Love all rock and metal. But I love country as well. Friend in the 90's introduced me to Alan Jackson. Next thing I know, I got tickets to see Metallica and Tim McGraw within 3 days of each other.

Another Metalhead here and I actually grew up on country. Around 2016 country changed so my music changed too and I went towards Heavy Metal and Hard Rock more. Now I find myself going from Highway To Hell to Copperhead Road straight into War Pigs then back to Bait a Hook and this. Only sad part is good music is getting harder to find nowadays.

@thegreat89825 жыл бұрын
CrazyLists Bro. You said it perfect. I’m from West Virginia. I grew up in New Jersey from the age of 2 until I was 9. I watched the technology flood and make it a decent bit bigger. When my mom, dad, and I moved back to Lincoln county West Virginia i thought it would be like it was back at the place I have always considered my home state. I feel at home here and I feel like I can really do what I want to do. We came up to a small town honestly it would surprise me if there was 80 people living there all together. Then we came up onto a holler and we asked a man if he knew where our new landlord lived. No lie. He said it in the most backwoods country accent “Well sure I do! Round these pots they ain’t nobody we ain’t knoweds not of their names. They live right up over yonder across from the crick. When you start across their bridge. Do Not Forget to rang the bale twice then stop for a mainute -(exactly said like main-it) then rang it uh-gain. Then just go on up to the house at the top.” I looked at my mom and asked her if we were lost after the guy got far enough away that he wouldn’t hear it. I was told no. Then we went to the new house and the drive way was dirt. It was a small house. Very small. My bedroom back home was the size of the whole house which was a 3 bed 1 bath with old wood floors that had carpet over it in places that wasn’t rough. We were in West Virginia until a month before I turned 19. I was born on 12-9-99 at cabell Huntington hospital and when I left and went home it was amazing. I love being near the roads. Yeah pros and cons but that’s anywhere and I love being in the road. I’m currently getting my prerequisites to get my CDls to drive tractor and trailer. I feel at home in places that I can see people which is kinda weird because I have bad anxiety when it comes to people. And it really messes with my asthma. I can’t be around groups bigger than 7 people max and I would prefer to text than talk to a guy but I won’t look at my phone when I’m in a group or in a room with them because I would rather talk to them and I was always taught that it was rude and disrespectful to ignore a woman. But other way I like seeing other places I don’t really like sitting in places for a while unless I’m relaxing and I like driving I really love driving big trucks and pulling long and heavy trailers. Good night. I just found out from a phone call from my boss here at 3 in the morning saying I’m needed to haul some equipment.

I will never forget that night. especially since it was my last time being in Variety show, a talent show you have to audition for. I sang in front of 300 people for the third and final year and it was a night I'll never forget. I moved away from that town which I knew all my life last year and that was really hard.

Nah, y’all have no idea what real country is lol, I mean your country in your own ways, but here in the woods of Kentucky, we have towns with a max of 600 people, my town has 84 people Google Beaumont Kentucky, that’s country brother.
@@thegreat8982 real country lol.

"Country" is not where you live, it is what is inside of you. Country is a persona that only a true "country" person can identify with.
If you live in the city you ain't country.
Come on people, 22 million people listened to this and only 98 thousand liked it what's wrong with you
Country is a state of mind, not a place you live ...the place country lives is in your heart and soul....
I can't say this anymore about this man. He sings, he's FINE, and he makes my heart skips a beat X100. Love his music.
Brantley Gilbert and Eric Church are part of a different kind of country music. It’s called Badass country.
