    • I would be more excited if Lenovo's pricing, especially on upgrades wasn't so bad in Australia. Lenovo are charging AUD900 to upgrade from 512GB SSD to 2TB and AUD470 to upgrade from 16GB RAM to 32GB. Beyond ridiculous! I actually ordered a pretty good Legion 7 gen 6 config in the Black Friday sales but Lenovo cancelled it a week later as they had run out of stock. Despite causing me to miss out on Black Friday deals they wouldn't even offer a discount on a different model. It's a real pity because the specs of their machines and warranty support are exactly what i'm after.

    @JoshCravesTech@JoshCravesTech Жыл бұрын
    • Lenovo seem to be playing it a bit safe this year. Hopefully OLED and MiniLED panels pop up for later configurations. Not sure what the point of more Type A ports are either. ASUS on the other hand have been impressive with their new lineup. I'm even impressed by what Acer are doing with the Nitro and Helios redesigns. It's like Lenovo have become complacent after being on the top for the last 2-3 years. Btw, I'd like to see a review of one of the new G14s from you. Hyped to buy one of those when they release.

  • Although i like the design of both legion laptops this year, i think they kinda went a little backwards with the design, with no indication of a fingerprint reader and the rj45 connector being in the old position, so you would have to lift the laptop up while connecting it. Does not break user experience though. Also i wish we had an all amd option like last year, and a 4k 16:10 screen.

    • As long as most inputs are on the back I personally don’t care. I dock to a external monitor when I’m at home, basically using the machine as a desktop, so keeping all the major connections hidden around the back makes for a much cleaner look.

    • @only right opinion Depends on your preference. If you prefer high fps esports level gaming, go for 2k 240hz. It is also sharper than 1080p for that display size However, for crisp displays and content creation, the 4k 120hz offers a noticeable step up in quality and thus makes it look more like the macbook retina display in terms of sharpness. I would prefer the sharper 4k display over high refresh rate and good quality 2k. The 4k panel must however either be a fast response miniled or oled to justify its higher asking price over 2k display, otherwise 2k is great for the majority.

  • @JarrodsTech Is it really worth waiting for? The higher end legion 5 pro models are going for much cheaper prices, especially with Ryzen. It's better than legion 5 by a lot. Right? We only ever get 1080p screens here, not just for legion, for TUF gaming (A15) which also happens to be on sale for dirt cheap price for the 3060 version with 300hz screen. Is the 5 pro screen much better than those? (I have dry eyes and some issues). Is it better to save some money going for the TUF or is the legion 5 pro worth the extra money? (Again, TUF would be limited to 1080p 300hz, 3060, but 5pro with 3070ti is like $400 more).

It's an absolute beast and cannot imagine needing more "performance" for gaming on the go. Overwatch 2 QHD Ultra I get max frames 165+, Modern Warfare 2 run at FHD 130-160 fps and Forza Horizon 5 QHD 120-130fps high settings. I also prefer the rear & side vent design on mine compared to these new models. With that said, the upgrades in performance do look nice for people exclusively gaming on the go or planning to run their laptop to an external monitor! But on a 240HZ screen, freesync supports low framerate compensation which is the same as what laptop G-Sync does. I honestly would consider an all AMD 16 core/7800M laptop.

  • Except for cpu and gpu this seems like a step backwards for Lenovo. I paid a lot of money for the top tier 7 i9 12900hx and am happy I didn't wait. I don't like less usb c, the body design is horrible, and although I am not big on lighting I do like having the options considering what I paid for it. I would be reconsidering buying Lenovo if I were looking this year, not sure why they regressed so bad. Last years model had elegant lines, a clean metal bezel instead of that goddy vent design that I thought they finally got rid of. Well, this may be my first and last Lenovo even though I believe they are the best laptop company because they care about their customers.

    • I recently bought a Lenovo Legion 5 with a Ryzen 7 6800H and 3070 Ti for 1500 and while the laptop is brilliant, the rgb lighting effects are really cool and the overall performance is outstanding, the same thing can’t be said about their customer service. I waited a whole month for mine to arrive (when it should’ve come in 3 days) and I might not buy another Lenovo ever again because of my first experience which was unpleasant. Leaning towards getting an Alienware if I’m being honest

    • @@moonlightcayenne8722 Alienware is worse, it is hard to get great service these days. I will have to say current gen 2022 was great and customer service was great, with me at least. I called because Lenovo policy states if they reduce the price of the same item within a month they will reimburse you the difference, they gave me back $680. I have no doubt that the new laptops work great but it looks like a clear step down. I'm sure the ugly vents are do to the increased heat of the 4090 gpu. I just wish things weren't messed up last year because mine would have probably had 3090 but it was never made.

    • @Niebuhr Yup, I know but the vent holes on the sides are much bigger and with the higher clock speeds and bigger memory I am guessing more heat. The other indicator is that they completely got rid of the slim 7 which ran hotter because of the smaller chassis. My model goes up to 97°c which is pretty high, close to the limit of 111°c. It also could be due to the CPU with the increased cores, not sure.
