Subtle… I know people who think the Ross character was too childish and over- the- top ( silly)- but loved Chandler. You think Ross had the most funny moments. Fun fact: the fist gesture is the simplest way to detect a Friends fan. Tbh, I have always found Monica's perfectionism admirable rather than funny, as a sort of a perfectionist myself. And Ross's divorces actually made me feel sorry for him, he shouldn't have been laughed at cause of his constant failures.

I am 76 and have seen just about every funny thing on TV since I was 6 years old…and FRIENDS makes me laugh and laugh no matter how many times I watch all of these on KZhead and I am getting all 10 seasons on DVDs. I love Chandler, Ross, Joey, Rachael, Monica and Phoebe……they are all just like my hysterically funny children and grandchildren. I will always cry about the loss of Matthew Perry just like I cry about the loss of my oldest son and my granddaughter……such wonderful human beings. FRIENDS is the best…always.
The whole "we were on a break" gag always had me laughing, especially in the first episode of season 4 and how it followed into Ross and Rachel's hilarious argument.

This show literally saved my life. I was in one of the darkest depression episodes I’ve ever experienced and I bought a few seasons of “Friends” on tapes. I watched nothing but Friends. The laughter brought me back to life. I was so saddened to hear of Matthew’s passing. The world will miss him and it won’t be the same without him here. However, his love will live on in the altruistic deeds he’s done for others. All that being said, I wish I had a “Monica” to come n clean my house. I would pay her! 😅 This is one of the best shows ever. I watch reruns regularly. It never gets old n I laugh every time.

I did once. I had taken my son on vacation and his father had gone on his own vacation with friends. He ended up having to end it early, and insisted we come home. I said nope. He called back and said I know where you like to stay, I'll just figure out where you are and join you. So we went to the second hotel and I used Regina Phalange. The clerk looked at me and laughed.

Chandler’s dancing’s great for exercising. ‘Phoebe’s’ happiness was her way of surviving her tumultuous childhood. (I don’t mean this to be trite.) When Matthew Perry passed away,it truly was a ‘Janice’, “Oh my Gahd” and a ‘Rachel’, “Nooooo” moment.

@Oliver The golden trio of friends was always those characters who were the funniest and most iconic, and somehow, most important. Therefore, the golden trio is Ross, Chandler, and Phoebe. They were the funniest ones without any doubt and David, Matthew, and Lisa were def the most talented comedians and actors out of the six. Especially David and Lisa. Ross and Phoebe as characters required more acting skills than the rest because David as Ross had and invented all amazing physical reactions that became legendary besides having hilarious delivery and timing. He was also amazing in serious drama, not just comedy and you can see it in the scene of the breakup between Ross and Rachel - the most serious and dramatic scene in the history of the show. And Phoebe's strange quirks required a great level of acting too. Matthew of course had his amazing sarcasm. I love Monica, Joey, and Rachel too but the truth is, they were nowhere near the comedy genius level of David, Matt Perry, and Lisa. Ross was also kind of in the center of things since the storyline started with Ross and Monica's family, their family's apartment which Monica inherited, and the people around Ross and Monica. Chandler was Ross's best friend since high school, then Chandler brought Joey into the group, then Phoebe appeared and Rachel had a childhood connection to the Gellers too. And of course, to Ross, as his forever love, and Ross and Rachel's romantic relationship is in fact, the main relationship on the show, like it or not, cause it starts in the very first episode when they tell us their history and then continues throughout the show as on/off-again relationship. So in reality, the golden trio was Ross, Chandler, and Phoebe. I'm willing to change Phoebe for someone else if I have an argument with someone who doesn't rate Phoebe among the best 3, maybe Monica or Joey; but for me, personally, Phoebe is the funniest among girls so she stays. As for Ross and Chandler, they are untouchable since they are 100% the funniest and most iconic characters, and Ross is also the most consistent. Even Chandler lost the brilliance of his sarcasm around season 7 but Ross remains hysterically funny from s1 till the very end, from the very first episodes with his nerdiness and jealousy over Rachel when she is with Paolo or his clumsy attempts to tell Rachel he loves her to ending episodes with Emma's birth or the one when Ross is fine (plus, as I explained, Ross is in the center of things). I know many fans, especially young fans today, hate Ross often, but when we, older fans watched it first Ross was always among the funniest and fav characters, and most iconic. And I don't really care about the modern 'analysis' of the show when angry feminazis and easily offended, oversensitive liberals are constantly hating on Ross, cause if you actually watched the show, the truth is that Rachel was 1000000% more toxic than Ross, and Ross was, in fact, a sweetheart. He just made mistakes like every other character on the show, the focus was just on him more, and it all made for great comedy anyway, which is the goal of the show.
