  • Turkey baster with a long tube will get the water out of the cylinders and then fill them with PB or WD and leave them for a few days. Turn the crank nut to break it loose.

  • ATF and diesel 50/50 in each one of the cylinders. And 2 to 5 gallons of diesel in the crank case. Let it set a day or two. Then try to move it back and forth.

  • Pull the heads and spray down the rocker arms and valve springs PB blaster. Turn the engine and see what valves are working. Tap the valves lightly with a hamme to loosen themr. Marvel mystery oil in the cylinders. Let it sit for a week if necessary. Soak valve assembly in Evaporust if needed. I have seen stubborn pistons persueded with a piece of wood and a hammer. You don't look like you're in a place where you can pull the engine and take apart the bottom end, but that is pretty much the last resort. Good luck! Nice dog 🙂

  • If I was trying to start a petrol (or gasoline, to you) engine that had been sitting idle for some time, the first thing I would do would be to clean and gapt the contact points in the distributor. I would also clean all the cobwebs and other crud away from the carburettor air intake.

  • I would definitely start by getting an adapter to neck down the shop vac to a tube you can get in there. You have to get the water out. I think I might try a combination of transmission fluid with some acetone to free up the rings. You can use used transmission fluid if you have any to save on the cost of throwing more money away on it. The bigger issue you have is the body of the cab. It looks really bad. You are going to need a stash of sheet metal, and some supreme welding skills. Then afterwards a boatload of bondo and body skills to get it presentable. It will be a tremendous amount of work. I really might consider starting with something in better shape to begin with. Freeing the engine might still be worth doing to be able to sell the engine and transmission to recoup your cost. Going forward and looking into "barn finds", I might invest in a scope you can use to check the condition (somewhat) of an engine before you take the time and trouble of bringing it home. I would not think a seller would have much issue with that as long as you stop if the plug doesn't want to come out. However, thoroughly checking out the body work top to bottom is something you should be able to do a better job of before dragging it home. This way you know what you are getting into to. That body was just sitting there waiting for your inspection.

  • I agree with Alfitz on the extraction of water. But vinegar in for a few days, to dissolve the rust, turkey baster again, and then marvel oil or pb. Big pipe wrench on the harmonic balancer, it should loose the rings, but there is the issue of the crank being possibly rusted. Same thing in the bottom

  • I agree with the others, try to get the water out of the cylinders use some kind of oil I would suggest putting the transmission in high gear then try to pull and push the truck to see if the engine will break loose . If it has air brakes you can cage the spring to release the brakes. Trying to rock the truck in gear will prevent breaking the crankshaft bolt . Just a suggestion. Good luck whatever you do.

  • The international engines are notorious for "seizing while sitting" Couple of different ways to free up the engine are out there. Best I've ever had was clean/ vacuum the water out of the cylinders and dump CLR into the cylinders, put the plugs back into it, and let it sit for a week. If it works, it worked. If not it's time to pull the heads and start there. Also, drain the engine oil and replace it after you CLR the engine and before you try to turn it over. Good luck

  • could always do like another you tuber did when they have a stuck motor like that. They made a chain grip to wrap around the balancer on the crank so that way it don't break off the crank bolt an you can apply a huge amount of leverage to the crank. Also fill the pistons with mystery oil or trans fluid an leave it sit for awhile but try to get the water out of the cylinders first pf course.

  • Oil the cylinders down rock the engine pull the valve cover on the side you have water check the condition of the valves to see which one is stuck open maybe have to pull the valve train possibly pull the head you need to see the cylinder condition clean up the valve/head you could benefit from a solution of ATF and white vinegar to soak the cylinders it's fairly extreme but you have yo free the motor it's not dead yet just stuck

Pressure wash degrease, new plugs, New gaskets, oil, cap and rotor, clean points, rebuild carb, antifreeze. Good to go! 5 hours of tear down, a couple days of reinstall parts. You're not out anything. Save it. $4-500.00 project. It'll do 60mph. Smiles for miles and haul everything that you'd need to do with that Ford. Then make it roadworthy, new hoses, 5-10 gallon hydraulic, 90WT and brakes. Fun truck.
