If you want to lose your eyes sight for good then carry one using a soft pad with no eye protection, Drills grinders welders or any engineering equipment always protect your eyes and ears, Fifty. Years in welding and fabrication I think I no what I’m talking about, Take care and look after your organs when using any equipment 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
Good advice
Well said you only get one set look after them
Mystery oil
You know you’ve got a rust problem when the battery tray disintegrates when you put a battery in it.😂
Turkey baster with a long tube will get the water out of the cylinders and then fill them with PB or WD and leave them for a few days. Turn the crank nut to break it loose.
ATF and diesel 50/50 in each one of the cylinders. And 2 to 5 gallons of diesel in the crank case. Let it set a day or two. Then try to move it back and forth.
@1.50, i was waiting to hear what it was, i can see what the Bedford TK (U.K truck from the General Motors group) idea came from it is so much alike, look up Bedford T.K & you'll see what i mean
The bedford is a cool looking truck. Id love to find one of them just bcuz its from the UK
Pull the heads and spray down the rocker arms and valve springs PB blaster. Turn the engine and see what valves are working. Tap the valves lightly with a hamme to loosen themr. Marvel mystery oil in the cylinders. Let it sit for a week if necessary. Soak valve assembly in Evaporust if needed. I have seen stubborn pistons persueded with a piece of wood and a hammer. You don't look like you're in a place where you can pull the engine and take apart the bottom end, but that is pretty much the last resort. Good luck! Nice dog 🙂
We’ll give er another try. Thanks
That hood alone is worth $300 --well bought !!
For future reference on the IH COE the cab is WAY easier to lift up manually if you open both doors first
Awesome! Thank you
If I was trying to start a petrol (or gasoline, to you) engine that had been sitting idle for some time, the first thing I would do would be to clean and gapt the contact points in the distributor. I would also clean all the cobwebs and other crud away from the carburettor air intake.
I would definitely start by getting an adapter to neck down the shop vac to a tube you can get in there. You have to get the water out. I think I might try a combination of transmission fluid with some acetone to free up the rings. You can use used transmission fluid if you have any to save on the cost of throwing more money away on it. The bigger issue you have is the body of the cab. It looks really bad. You are going to need a stash of sheet metal, and some supreme welding skills. Then afterwards a boatload of bondo and body skills to get it presentable. It will be a tremendous amount of work. I really might consider starting with something in better shape to begin with. Freeing the engine might still be worth doing to be able to sell the engine and transmission to recoup your cost. Going forward and looking into "barn finds", I might invest in a scope you can use to check the condition (somewhat) of an engine before you take the time and trouble of bringing it home. I would not think a seller would have much issue with that as long as you stop if the plug doesn't want to come out. However, thoroughly checking out the body work top to bottom is something you should be able to do a better job of before dragging it home. This way you know what you are getting into to. That body was just sitting there waiting for your inspection.
Red truck motor stuck go to the fly wheel with a bar. First off trans fluid on cylinders for a week or 3 then try bumping the starter and go from there might take a while
I love love love cabover internationals from that era. Too bad the cab is so bad. A lot of guys have luck with soaking the cylinders with a 50/50 mixture of acetone & ATF
I agree with Alfitz on the extraction of water. But vinegar in for a few days, to dissolve the rust, turkey baster again, and then marvel oil or pb. Big pipe wrench on the harmonic balancer, it should loose the rings, but there is the issue of the crank being possibly rusted. Same thing in the bottom
Drove an international just like that years ago, the 5 on the column was nice to shift
I agree with the others, try to get the water out of the cylinders use some kind of oil I would suggest putting the transmission in high gear then try to pull and push the truck to see if the engine will break loose . If it has air brakes you can cage the spring to release the brakes. Trying to rock the truck in gear will prevent breaking the crankshaft bolt . Just a suggestion. Good luck whatever you do.
I really hope you get the binder running. Might try diesel and trans fluid
The international engines are notorious for "seizing while sitting" Couple of different ways to free up the engine are out there. Best I've ever had was clean/ vacuum the water out of the cylinders and dump CLR into the cylinders, put the plugs back into it, and let it sit for a week. If it works, it worked. If not it's time to pull the heads and start there. Also, drain the engine oil and replace it after you CLR the engine and before you try to turn it over. Good luck
Thanks for the advice I’ll give it a try
I get the dissolving the rust part of using the CLR, but that isn't going to lube. I would definitely start by getting an adapter to neck down the shop vac to a tube you can get in there. You have to get the water out. I think I might try a combination of transmission fluid with some acetone to free up the rings. You can use used transmission fluid if you have any to save on the cost of throwing more money away on it.
Marvel mystery oil
First I've ever heard that and we have run IH equipment for 70 years.
Great little gem of a channel! Love the intro scenes!
Battery box goes to complete nothing. Delete. Pulls new one out of thin air. Makes the truck it's very own beer bong! Lol😅 Keep going man!
And we gotta get both trucks to SEMA in two weeks.
That’d be tough lol
Good one. It is a tight deadline, but if we work all night the day before leaving...
International made pretty good 345s. I'd save it, get it going again
Judging from the yellow paint under the hood I'd guess that old Ford is an ex-highway department truck or maybe a county truck.
Would have loved to see this if it had been live. After where the fuel line goes in the carb, is a float to control the fuel level. if its sat for that long its STUCK! I'm surprised it actually let go without a hammer smack! You guys got lucky! Almost NEVER happens! Love ur content! Give Max a big kiss for me! And AWESOME on the clutch aligning tool!
Unbelievable how you got that truck running!!
Might be all the spider webs you sucked into the carburetor😂
Great video, nice coulple of trucks .
Too bad about the COE but I think I’d punt especially as bad as the cab is. At least it has some scrape value.
Nice work man! Great save!
could always do like another you tuber did when they have a stuck motor like that. They made a chain grip to wrap around the balancer on the crank so that way it don't break off the crank bolt an you can apply a huge amount of leverage to the crank. Also fill the pistons with mystery oil or trans fluid an leave it sit for awhile but try to get the water out of the cylinders first pf course.
Don’t have anything to loose at this point
Great Job Pete!!!
I have used a little bit of transmission fluid mixed in with the marvel mystery oil
Blow the water out with air then fell it up with acetone and Trans. Fluid
I have more or less the same truck here in the UK and in RHD form too. It was one of a small batch of pre-production trucks assembled here and displayed here at the annual big truck show. However they never did end up going into full production. Mine has a Perkins 3654 diesel. It also is the exact same red colour as yours.
The diesel would be cool
Do international have any links with general motors? The coe cab kinda has a Bedford look to me? Cool though I'm also in the UK too. Great video well done for getting it running again ❤
Stacey David rebuilt one of these years ago on his show Gearz. Would be a great place to get some inspiration.
I seen that too, gas engine, 9 speed Eaton transmission. He got the engine running, then pulled the engine and transmission and put a Duramax engine and Automatic transmission in. I would have wanted to keep the 9 speed myself.
Oil the cylinders down rock the engine pull the valve cover on the side you have water check the condition of the valves to see which one is stuck open maybe have to pull the valve train possibly pull the head you need to see the cylinder condition clean up the valve/head you could benefit from a solution of ATF and white vinegar to soak the cylinders it's fairly extreme but you have yo free the motor it's not dead yet just stuck
Nice job keep up the good work buddy
Thanks
7.3 swap for the Corn Binder! Lol
They were called Cargostars.
I think this video is your best yet. Love the ford ln series trucks. And your dog.
Thanks
You’re doing a great job 💪
Put WD 40 in the cylinders and let it sit
if u can get the water out of the engine put marvel mystery oil in it that might free it up
you should buy a beadblaster with the amount of rusted stuff you keep buying
2 beautiful retro Trucks ... Better then the new styles. Regarts from Holland 🇳🇱.
Thank you!
That is neat never heard of a 5sp on the column. But do you just plan on taring these trucks apart like the others? Lol
Save it
Maybe pb blaster and transmission fluid 😮
I would love to find a dump truck like the Ford I've been looking the ones that would work for me are to expensive
Swap the engine and transmission in it with a newer model or put a 12v Cummins then swap the cab with the COE one you have sitting next to it. Make for some good content.
I've had really good luck with freeing stuck engines with brake fluid
Iv tried that before
Those Deutsch plugs aren't as waterproof as you think. Regularly have to re-pin them due to corrosion caused by water ingress.
Should add dielectric grease to connections as well
I think you should part it out and come over my house and buy my Ford 850 tractor with a 713 backhoe. I dont think im too far from you. Im just wondering what got you interested older equipment. My guess is that you like to see how things work, and constantly challenge yourself. Have a nice Thanksgiving.
I’d be interested in checking it out for sure, shoot me an email, it’s in the about section on my channel page. I got started in old equipment partly bcuz iv always flipped stuff and older stuff was cheaper and then I’m really good at being poor, stuff has to be cheap to come home with me
What online site did you use for the auction? I’ve been looking for a skid steer and a dump truck. Don’t want to get a 2nd and 3rd mortgage for them.
I don’t even remember. There’s so many online auctions now
@@99Projects thank you. Keep up the content. Enjoy all what you post
@@jeansonnea thank you for watching
My three year old says you should fix the red truck.
That’s hard to argue with! Smart kid
Is the cab shell on the red international the same as the English bedford tk's ?
I don’t know. I had another guy say it looked like the Bedford
They look similar but I suspect the TK cab is smaller and narrower.
310 is a deal for that ford for sure.
I know whats wrong with it, it aint got the gas in it🤣
hay man you forgot to ask the warranty for two years
I always forget to get those lol
That 345 will be simple. I would definitely pull the rockers, rods, heads, and pan get it all cleaned up. New exhaust bolts. Pressure wash degrease, new plugs, New gaskets, oil, cap and rotor, clean points, rebuild carb, antifreeze. Good to go! 5 hours of tear down, a couple days of reinstall parts. You're not out anything. Save it. $4-500.00 project. It'll do 60mph. Smiles for miles and haul everything that you'd need to do with that Ford. Then make it roadworthy, new hoses, 5-10 gallon hydraulic, 90WT and brakes. Fun truck.
$300 for a dump truck? Deal.
Good for scrapping!
It might be lol
pool acid
Why did nobody weigh these scrappers in when they were parked? because you all have far too much land.
I see your fur baby is deprived of attention. Lol
SCRAP!
Dump diesel fuel down the motor
Release the water poor apple cider vinegar in carb
Boh....mi sa che hai comprato un mutuo.....😮
Read thru the comments.. best bet is load up the cylinders, load up the wife, chain up the white truck and bump the beJesus outta it. The truck--not the wife. Good luck.. remember, we're all in this together
Good comment lol
That engine is no good and it never will be. You need to get that truck to the junkyard while the price of junk iron is still high.
pull the engine and strip it
That cabover with that much water in it is junk.
Personally I wanted to see more on the grey Ford but its gone. As for the International it would be cool to see if it can run but I think its beyond help. Who knows how long the water has been in the cylinders if it were me I would scrap it.
I have another video on my channel of a similar truck
@@99Projects I seen the red ford video
Scrap it
I hope you paid by the pound.
That would probably make it more expensive
Very dissapointing. You dont know how to free stuck engines. You surrender easily. Im out.
not worth saving.
should have kept the ford.
I’ll probably get another
unwatchable,
DID HE REALLY DRY START THE FORD
