I stayed at Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Marunouchi and the view was absolutely amazing. I booked "Queen Train View 20 sqm" room.

    • For night views from Tokyo there is a good one at Asakusa , the Richmond Hotel. On a side you have all Tokyo or Asakusa and Sky Tree. on the other. The balcony from the reception is fantastic! Very nice place to stay in.

  • This room is a foamer's sweetest dream. Or maybe not, they'd be too busy spotting and admiring the trains at the station to relax and sleep 😂 I certainly liked its location (very convenient), and the food does not look half bad in the slightest. Not sure about the flavor but the presentation made me hungry, and I've just had dinner 5 minutes ago! Thank you again for another very enjoyable episode, STJ-san.

  • Videos like these don't truly capture just how huge Tokyo Station is. I enjoyed walking around there, and I heavily used my JR Pass at the time, but what's funny is watching this video and thinking, "Boy, I haven't seen that part of the station...or that part...or that part..." It's not just Tokyo Station either, Kyoto Station also had me going around in circles trying to find the famous snacks and eateries I was looking for 🙃 Is, 「おつかれさま電車」 a good pun?

  • Very nice view! I always try to stay my last couple of nights at a nice hotel with a great view whenever I visit Japan. Last time it was the Shibuya Excel Tokyu which had amazing views of the Shinjuku skyline as well as the Shibuya Crossing area. The other view I would recommend is the Shinagawa Prince hotel which offers great views of Tokyo Tower and the Tokyo skyline all the way from Shinjuku to central Tokyo to Odaiba but you need to book a room in a high floor. Now I have to put Hotel Metropolitan Tokyo Marunouchi on my bucket list 😀

  • The dawn at Tokyo Station with the view from the hotel room, so gorgeous! 😍 But this price is not for my wallet, for a little more of this amount I stay at Kyoto for 5 nights. Thank you so much for sharing this with us. Domou arigatou goizaimasu! *edit* Would it be possible to enter and leave the Station with a SUICA or other IC card, without riding a train, or do you have to buy the Platform Ticket? I don't have a problem buying the ticket, I just want to know if I would be stuck when using an IC card.

Nice TV for spanker videos. First thing I'd do is crank up that portable air conditioner. Put it on full blast. Make the room cold like an ice box. Was the WiFi signal good? That Beef dinner at the restaurant looked really delicious. I could easily eat two of those entrees. Maybe eat one, take one back to the room for later. That was a good move bringing up that bag with the goodies. Stock the room with snacks. I could probably eat two boxes of those delicious bananas.

I like how you included a tour of the Station like you would the public areas onboard the ferries. Now you make it difficult, when I finally visit Japan, I thought that I would take a Shinkansen and a ferry, but now, I need to stay at that hotel with a Station view, and of course a trip on a train.

  • You can really see how Tokyo station has been expanded and upgraded over the past decades, because of the different types of roofs. I imagine if the current station was built in one go, the tracks would look more like each other. Or even share one giant roof. I believe some newly built modern stations do this, as well as some European train stations like Amsterdam (iirc).
