Summertime at last and the beach is where you'll spend most of your time if you're lucky! But what if this beach is somewhere on a Greek island?
You need to expand your Greek vocabulary ASAP!
In this video we're exploring a beach and we describe what we see in simple sentences (more than 20 sentences). We mostly use the verb είμαι (to be) but a few more verbs may come up.
We find seashells and we learn some of the most popular and common Greek words, like "ο ουρανός, ο ήλιος, η θάλασσα".
As you can see, it is great for kids too!
All the sentences are explained in much detail and you learn how to pronounce them correctly, like a Greek native speaker does. It's a great way to practice your Greek syntax.
If you need help on the definite article ο, η, το, watch this video.

If you want to learn more colors in Greek watch this one!

For the adverbs and prepositions of place you must see this:

I created, animated and edited this video myself, so I would really appreciate a big thumbs up if you 've found it helpful or entertaining!

  • Hello friends! I really hope you'll love this one because it took me almost 20 hours to make! Let me know if you've found it helpful! We actually learn to form sentences here! Isn't that great? And don't worry, next week there will be a video about the basics of the verb "είμαι". ❤🌸😀 Don't forget to give this video a thumbs up!!!

    • Thank you so much for this! Graphic design and animation are my hobbies and I really love making my lessons more interesting like this. I think in time they 'll get better! Having new students every day watching my lessons and leaving comments like yours, are my best rewards! Thank you! 😀😀

    • It's nice how you can combine the graphics and lessons in one. As long as you like doing this, believe me..we (at least i) like watching this and learn from it. By the way..the learning method of simple senteces works very good for me. I hope the other viewers feel the same. The best way to learn the language, is to speak and listen to it..so this works for me!

  • I like the way you do a vocabulary list at the end I don’t have to stop the visors as much to write things down I also look for verbs and write them separately The lists make it easier to do

  • Hi Lina Brilliant lesson. Thanks. I noticed that there’s a fault in one of your fonts… whenever you write an s and a t together there is a funny line between them. Try to get rid of this because it’s not normal and it’s distracting.

  • awesome vid Lina !..I dont fully get how. . . κάστρος στην άμμο = sandcastle - registers in my mind on first reaction as a castle in the sand [ also, how would you say..."a castle in the sand" in greek ?]

    @rainstormr7650@rainstormr76506 жыл бұрын
    • Hi! That's exactly what it means, you are right! I just used sandcastle in English, because there is no exact (single word) Greek equivalent. " "Κάστρο στην άμμο" means "castle in the sand".

    @naturelover6296@naturelover62966 жыл бұрын
    • Hi! For my lessons I use the classic grammar book of Manolis Triantafyllidis (Μανόλης Τριανταφυλλίδης) that in my opinion is the most accurate Modern Greek grammar. I don't know if you can find it anywhere translated in English. In Greek it is available online for free here: goo.gl/VCxTRQ

  • I don´t get the use of "tou" in 2:17 , what is its function there? article, possessive adjective, pronoun?

    @funenglish248@funenglish2485 жыл бұрын
    • I think it’s the neuter genitive (?) form of “it” because “το καβούρι” is a neuter noun and here it’s actually the indirect object

  • Interesting how the word for flip-flops is sayonares, obviously a reference to Japanese sandals (sayonara=Japanese for "goodbye"). My mom always called them pandoflia (sp?) though. That must be a regional dialect, she's from Poulitsa in Korinthos.

  • Hello Lina, can you explain Τι όμορφη που είναι η παραλία! Is που clause required when express this meaning? Can it simply be Τι όμορφη είναι η παραλία! or Τι όμορφη η παραλία! ? Also I have a small suggestion, I wish you could repeat all your sentences twice, so we do not have to press back button in order to hear it twice, and preferably with one of the repetition at a slower speed for longer sentences. One of the reason why I watch your video is because of native Greek pronunciation, which is hard to find online. I would appreciate if I can listen to you more if you can repeat your sentences twice.

    @lsx001@lsx0017 жыл бұрын
    • Hello! The "που" clause is not required, the other two sentences are also correct! Thanks for your suggestions, I usually say everything twice, but I in this one I repeated the phrases and words at the end because I didn't want to interrupt the "story" flow of the first part. I will definitely keep that in mind for tomorrow's video about giving directions! Thank you!
