Son of ‘Doomsday Cult’ Lori Vallow Recalls Last Time He Saw His Siblings Alive
Colby Ryan, son of Lori Vallow, took the witness stand Monday afternoon in the trial of Chad Daybell. During his questioning, Ryan recalled the last time he saw his siblings, conversations with his mother, and family finances. Vallow was convicted of murdering her kids, JJ and Tylee. Chad Daybell is now on trial for the same crime.

Hearing the pain in Colby’s voice is heartbreaking

Chad and Lori seemingly so able to disconnect from all the people they killed is chilling.
Yes, that is pretty scary.
And they where not even just people they where their love ones.
Its more comfortable and easier to swallow to hide behind their illusion that they were justified to do those things, rather than to accept the facts of how horrible they end those lives.
Chilling indeed...makes me feel like if they're able to kill loved ones so easily? Just IMAGINE if they had gotten away with their murder spree? They would've killed again, I'm sure of it..anyone they deemed "dark" would have to go....two of the most evil people ever..Can't wait for Daybells sentencing day...

Colby has been through so much with losing his mother, his brother and his sister. It had to have been very hard for him to have to keep reliving all the horror that took place with murder's of his sister and brother.

I won hundred percent agree! I think he is about as unprofessional and Condescending as it gets. I love getting on East Idaho news and listening to Nate Eaton. He’s been with the case from the very beginning and is very very professional. It limits you having to listen to Prior as much.

She took Colby with her to Charles's house in Houston and took everything of value. And l think gave some electronics to Colby like iPad etc. And there she told Colby there she would be marrying again soon...

Colby lost an aunt (Stacey), TWO stepdad's (Joseph Ryan and Charles Vallow), a step-sister (Tylee), a step-brother (JJ) and an uncle (Alex). Lori and Alex killed them. Lori then killed Alex and replaced him with Chad.

On 10/30/2018, Chad sent Lori an email with the light/dark ratings of her family members. Tylee was rated a 4.1D and her dad Joseph Ryan was rated a 4.3D and marked as "sealed away." Sealed away probably because Joe was found dead on 4/3/2018. However, I believe Alex was still Lori's sole henchman at the time Charles was killed on 7/11/19. I also believe Lori replaced Alex with Chad as her henchman sometime afterward though.
The fact that Chad is fighting this and not just doing some sort of plea deal is so effed. Like he really is super evil. It's the least he could do for the survivors😢 it says sooooo much about him.

I could see Lori Vallow being influenced by Chad Daybell if she thought it might benefit her or suit her purposes. It seems to me that the pattern was that Lori Vallows relationships were transactional, and that all resources were used to that end, including the use and disregard of her children. She would not be confrontational because it would not be an effective means of manipulation.

When Detective Ray Hermosillo was looking for JJ, he asked Chad Daybell for Lori Vallow's phone number, Chad said he didn't have it. Hermosillo then asked Chad about his relationship with Lori, "He said he hardly knew her." At that time, they had been talking and sexting for at least a year, and he had been married to her for several weeks. Now, his lawyer would have the jury believe that poor little innocent Chad was manipulated by crazy Lori to help her commit at least 3 murders... then under duress, he goes with her to Hawaii for their honeymoon as if nothing happened. Then, to avoid accountability for his actions, he turns on the supposed love of his life. Hopefully, the jury sees him for the lying psychopathic con man he truly is.

It does happen, I know it sounds uncommon but it's more common than you think. All this time he was preaching and teaching his beliefs system and his wife and family was with him, all of a sudden as soon as Lori arrived on the scene Chad turned into a monster, plus Lori has a track record since Tylees father etc. That is why his children is still standing with him, that's not the man they know. Many men are in jail trying to please women, also that is why some mothers don't accept some women for their sons🙄🙄🙄
Chad was looking and using that line on several women before lori. He went on many "fishing" expeditions. Tammy was never at the conferences, no one told Tammy she was going to die early. He messed with her car and sent her by herself on a trip, then she was shot at when that didn't work then she finally was k!lled after that. Chad only told that to prospective "customers". When he met lori his description of her was "she's hot and loaded". The time in Houston for reconciliation was when Lori had the insurance fraudulently changed back to her as the Beneficiary. Charles found out she did that after thier "failed reconciliation," which was false, Charles changed the Beneficiary back to kay. Lori did not know Charles found out about her fraudulently changing the Beneficiary. So after she left Houston the plan was put into action. They did the same to Charles his trip from Texas, then when they caught wind that he was going to intervene, he was shot. When that plan, Chad vision, failed another was put into action with Brandon for a payout of 1 million for Melani b, who promised the proceeds to help lori and Chad. That failed as well. Tammy went to up the life insurance on her. Then her plan was put into action. Coincidentally, all of these were suddenly possessed and needed to be freed from thier bodies. Also Gerber policies for children of these people were looked into during all of this.

the level of evil in Lori and Chad is staggering. Like some kind of case study of what is possible when human beings disconnect from their hearts - there are terrible cult/religion/torture/murder stories - many - there is a particular madness I believe that humans are capable of that is demonstrated here. Nazi/Japan/CIA/Kremlin torture practices I believe may be a similar place in the human brain where it's just completely disconnected from the empathy and the reality that we are all human beings.

Why was Colby asking for money does anyone know?
Maybe they had an agreement. It doesn't really matter since he asked unlike Lori, who just went and got a joint bank account with Tylee before taking over and killing her so she could have everything until the money stopped when Tylee was 18.
He was young, with kids of his own. He worked in a gym, so money was probably tight. Not everyone earns a proper, living wage.
I think he was a student and he asked tylee to loan him money out of her social security money.
