For the first time in 20 years, rain has fallen in sufficient quantities across the north Angolan highlands. Until this point, the fight for survival has been more brutal than ever. The Boteti river has finally seen enough rainfall to transform into proper life support for the animals surrounding it. This extraordinary dramatic change has been captured on camera as it brings fresh water and life to its resident animals.

This is a great documentary and also has good music. Sean Pertwee's voice is nice.
I imagine a time couple of centuries ago and beyond when every parts of Africa from Somalia to South Africa, from Namb desert to forests of Congo, to West Africa and Sahara desert, all were connected. Imagine herds of Zebra, Wildebeest and Elephants traveling from Nile Delta to Okavengo! Male lions had quite a journey I'm sure, so did the migratory cheetahs. Back when black rhinos were the most abundant rhino species in the world; and Javan & Sumatran rhinos also existed in the Indian subcontinent along with greater one horned rhinos and Asian elephants. Back when Atlas Mountains still had lions and bears. Back when tigers, lions, leopards, cheetahs, wolves, dholes, striped hyenas and 4 bear species coexisted in Persia and South Asia, in the same regions! Back when passenger pigeons were still the largest populations of any birds in the whole world despite being native to only North America, back when plains bisons had a herd of 60 million! Imagine what we've missed!
Humans should have died out thousands of years ago. We ruined the Earth. We are a bunch of ticks, killing everything we touch

My adrenal gland has a mass bleeding on it which is on kidney and I get the three F's appearing over the least thing. Back then when we grew up with these wonderful memorable to nostalgic wildlife documentaries on Nat Geo Wild back in the years of 2007-2016 where these wildlife documentaries were everywhere on TV while dominating and ran our nostalgic childhood of wild animals.

Some of the scenes in this documentary like the elephants rushing to the smell and sight of water are long gone from most african countries where they were once a common sight.

A lot of these type documentaries talk about adaptation and what not, but It always seems to me the only thing the wild animals never seem to adapt to is going where the water doesnt run out or going where the predators arent. Funny the way things work out sometimes.
Interesting how nature chose to give the Hippos, an animal living in such a hot and dry environment, such sensitive skin.
Such a cruel trick nature played on them blind termites.

O nome Hipopótamo provêm do Grego Antigo, e Significa " Cavalo do Rio ". GOSTO MUITO dos Hipopótamos e Não pela beleza, pois com toda sinceridade os Hipopótamos NÃO são Animais tão bonitos assim. Mas Admiro MUITO os Hipopótamos por serem Animais que impõe respeito, pois até os animais que estão no topo da Cadeia alimentar como os Leões e os Crocodilos respeitam os Hipopótamos, os Leões só atacam à um Hipopótamo Adulto, se estiverem em Bando e Geralmente o Bando Completo para abater um Hipopótamo Adulto e MESMO assim com GRANDES riscos de um dos leões serem gravemente ferido ou até morto pelo Hipopótamo como inclusive já aconteceu muitas vezes. Portanto um único Leão por mais Forte e Grande que seja, Não se atreve a atacar sozinho a um Hipopótamo Adulto. e a mesma coisa os Crocodilos, até os Maiores da espécie Não se atrevem a atacar sozinho, à um Hipopótamo Adulto já plenamente Desenvolvido. Mas em casos raros em que a mãe Hipopótamo tem DOIS filhotes, ela Cuida Somente de um e abandona um deles "a própria sorte ". O Macho dominante agrupa entre 05 a 30 fêmeas e jovens crias. tanto o acasalamento como o parto ocorrem na água. Só o Macho Dominante Pode Acasalar com as fêmeas, mas vez ou outra o Macho Dominante é Desafiado em um Luta q muitas vezes É até a morte, por um macho que vive no grupo dos Machos mas q são Submissos ao Macho Dominante, e quando o Macho Dominante é Derrotado pelo Desafiante, o Macho Vencedor que a partir daquele momento em diante... se torna o NOVO Macho Dominante, mata todos os filhotes pois NÃO são dele. É a Mesma coisa q acontece com os Leões, quando um "Novo Rei" assumi o "Trono" ou Seja o Bando, Ele mata todos os filhotes sem piedade. e aos Jovens Leões machos q São maiores, o NOVO Leão Chefe os expulsa do Bando. O reino animal Muitas vezes é cruel, e em muitos casos dentro da própria espécie, e Quase sempre são os filhotes que pagam o preço. O Hipopótamo Macho tem em média o Peso: entre 1.650 à 1.800 Kg. ( Adulto ), e a Fêmea tem em média o Peso: entre 1.340 à 1.550 Kg. ( Adulto ), a Altura chega em média entre 1,5 m à 1,7 m ( até ao ombro ) O comprimento, É em média, de 3,5 m. Sua velocidade em terra, correndo em curtas Distâncias chega entre 38 à 40 Km/h. Mas a sua velocidade média em distâncias Maiores é entre 32 à 35 Km/h. no máximo. OBS: O Hipopótamo Não esta nem entre os 14 animais mais Velozes do Mundo, Claro. Mas esta Velocidade É considerada Altíssima pelos Pesquisadores levando em Consideração o Tamanho e Principalmente o Grande Peso do Animal. e eles conseguem manter esta incrível velocidade em terra mais Tempo q um Jovem ser humano consegue manter sua velocidade máxima, q em média é de 12 à 17 Km/h. Os Hipopótamos Se Alimentam PRINCIPALMENTE de capim, grama e algumas plantas aquáticas. mas DIFERENTE do q MUITOS pensam, eles tbm comem ALGUMAS VEZES durante o Ano Carne. OBS: embora comam carne APENAS em Casos de Necessidade como por Ex: na época q tem pouco capim Ou em casos AINDA MAIS EXTREMOS, como numa Seca onde o Capim e etc.. diminuem AINDA MAIS, Então os Hipopótamos precisam complementar o restante do alimento necessário com carne de qualquer animal q eles tem a oportunidade de matar. Portanto o Hipopótamo embora seja HERBÍVORO Comendo PRINCIPALMENTE alimento de Origem vegetal, mas se Necessário for tbm Se Alimenta de origem animal. Os Hipopótamos podem ficar até 5 minutos submersos de baixo d'água sem respirar. já houve registros de Grandes Machos ficando até 7 minutos Submersos de baixo d'água. e eles correm dentro d'água no fundo dos rios e são extremamente rápidos podendo chegar a uma Velocidade entre 9 à 10 Km/h. e NÃO é por acaso q os Hipopótamos são Animais temidos até por Predadores, pois além de ter muita Força física por causa de seu Peso e Tamanho, tbm tem Presas enormes as dos Machos podem chegar entre ( 40 à 50 cm ) de comprimento, e São afiadíssimas como Espadas. as Presas das Fêmeas tbm são enormes, embora menores q as dos Machos, podem chegar entre ( 25 à 35 cm ) de Comprimento, mas afiadíssimas tanto quanto as dos Machos. e os Hipopótamos tem uma das Mordidas mais Poderosas e Fortes do Reino Animal na ( 5° Quinta Posição ) Apenas quatro animais tem a Mordida MAIS FORTE q a do Hipopótamo, e três são espécies de Crocodilos. porém o Hipopótamo é o animal com a Mandíbula MAIS FORTE entre os Mamíferos. Para elencar esses animais pela força de suas mordidas, é utilizada a unidade PSI (ou libra-força por polegada quadrada). Quanto maior o número, mais pressão é exercida pela mandíbula do animal em questão. o Macho Adulto tem uma mordida em média entre 1800 a 1825 PSI, que dá ( 816 à 825 ) Kg de Força. O q equivale a (128 kg/cm²) por centímetro quadrado. a Fêmea Adulto embora tenha uma mordida com menos força que a do Macho, mas mesmo assim é extremamente Forte, em média entre ( 585 à 620 ) Kg de Força. OBS: o único Animal que o Hipopótamo respeita e da " espaço" e de certa forma até o teme, É o Elefante, por causa de sua Grande Força e Tamanho. Os Elefantes são Simplesmente os Maiores e mais Pesados animais terrestres. Os Hipopótamos são MUITO Perigosos até para os seres humanos, nenhum outro Animal mata tantas pessoas quanto os Hipopótamos, com cerca de ( 240 à 260 ) mortes por ano causadas por Ataques de Hipopótamos. Uma Boa parte dos Ataques são fora d,água. em SEGUNDO LUGAR vem os Crocodilos q causam a morte de cerca de ( 215 à 225 ) pessoas por ano. e em TERCEIRO LUGAR vem os Leões q causam a morte de cerca de ( 110 à 120 ) pessoas por ano. OBS: estes números Sempre estão sendo Atualizados anualmente, as vezes para mais MORTES de pessoas por Ano do que a média, e as vezes com menos MORTES por Ano do que a média, em consequência dos Ataques destes animais, mas os Hipopótamos Sempre aparecem no topo da lista dos animais q mais matam humanos, e já estão a Bastante tempo em "PRIMEIRO LUGAR ". Portanto se alguém um dia quiser ir na África, pense duas vezes antes de chegar perto DEMAIS de um Hipopótamo, ainda que estejam dentro d'água pois eles podem sair rapidinho. Nota: Felizmente Os Hipopótamos NÃO estão na Lista de animais ameaçados de extinção. HOJE Existem um número considerável deles na África.

The ants were absolutely terrifying. Even their moves were like from the creepiest horror movie one can imagine, only it's not a movie? It's real? I'm absolutely terrified. Imagine being the termite. What a horrific way to go. Beheaded by the jaws of someone's that moves in the creepiest of ways.
I usually watch these pretty damn well and dont humanize things. But damned if watching that lion maul the baby zebra didn't tickle my empathy. you could SEE the terror on his face. Its cruel. But nature is Beautiful.

The highest population and densities of plain/burchell zebra that are commonly found in Botswana are always the national parks and game reserves that sustain bigger populations of zebras in areas like: Chobe national park, Moremi game reserve, Nxai National Park & Mkalagadi Transformer Park as they are the iconic and national animal of Botswana! 🦓🇧🇼
It is so strange how elephants can bend their knees and actually use them as support, like when that calf was getting out of the hole, it was on its knees. It's very odd to see, lol

Thank God there is finally WATER flowing back in from some place. Those Zebra's remind me of young people ruining the water turning it to mud once they had enough to drink, gonna play in it, who cares about anybody else. So the bull elephants keep them back so they can drink before zebras want to play in it and turn it into bathwater mud which other animals can't drink to sustain life.

Whilst "zebra" can be pronounced "zeh-bra" (the e to sound like the e in "egg"), or "zeebra", the generally adopted pronunciation in southern Africa is the former. The latter is the standard American pronunciation.

This film has one of the most daft claims Ive ever heard. At 40:00 he states the female frog gets so overwhelmed by males that sometimes she drowns. Frogs are amphibians. How can an amphibian drown in water when it breathes under water and on land. Thats why its an amphibian,
Because they have lungs and do require air. Therefore sustained pressure to remain underwater will lead to drowning.

Christ this was bad. Like reallly really bad, half of this "documentary" is having a look at 300 videos and seeing how you can create/fabricate a cool story to sell. There are so many outrages moments where your showing entirely unrelated images, as if its all part of the same occurence but if you pay even a fraction of an attention as proven by me as im doing several other things in the mean time. Youll notice that most of these animals are entirely different specimens by the next image. The lions and zebras especially have it bad with this. But yeah, i dont believe shizz most of it seems like cut and paste work,ive seen multiple clips out of other documentaries just shamelessly being called yours and given a story nerative.
