I agree with most of your points besides these 2 that you said: 1) If you like movies more than games you are not a gamer / if you only play one of the mainstream games you are not a gamer: people have different tastes, you don't need to play games 24/7 and have gaming as your only hobby to be a gamer. 2) games are not expensive: YES THEY ARE! my main catalog of games has been NFS MW, Tekken & and Spiderman (insomniac) for many years now, I only added elden ring recently. Games are expensive as heck, don't even talk about getting a console. It is a miracle that i got a good laptop able to run these games or else I would have been stuck to playing counter strike source on my potato PC. And then too i have to hope that my parents never come to know that I paid for video games, they'd say something like "you not only lose time playing games, but also lose money?"

Even though I am 14, I have been playing for around 7 years since my dad introduced me to a PC. I am so happy to see someone finally speaking out about this. I always felt out of place with everyone and my friends, because I just didn't like free fire/pubg/minecraft. I felt like I was the only one who plays cod, dark souls, etc. in India. Ontop of this, seeing every Indian youtuber playing nothing I play just made me feel odd. You spoke straight facts. Great video, keep it up.

as a gamer from like 2007 I have been struggling with budling my pc since then Played cs source and then after tried some MMO games I truly feel like if there was a MMO community in India it would be great I had so many friends that plays online games from back then we all agree that Indian gaming community cant exist because people didnt really had any effort to make one community, people here play old games never moved on and these big youtubers can really influence on the viewers by just playing new games just show them what they are missing I bet if they see good games they will play it and eventually leave the old games but here our big content creators are busy farming views
As a veteran Indian gamer I totally agree with you. Been gaming since 2005 and Online MP since 2010. But a community was there back then, they were small & separate but they were active. Like separate Fifa, CS, Battlefield, COD community. We hosted Battlefield Scream event (I knew Dynamo Gaming before he became Dynamo gaming, As he said in an interview that he loves Battlefield, yes he does but He was banned also for cheating did he mentioned that ? his EA Origin account is still banned in GGC database server.) Everything changed when JIO arrived.

I can't agree more than this. Every word you spoke is a fact. I will be honest. Before 2020, I used to play Free Fire because I didn't have a PC. I used to upload videos on my channel, but later in August 2020, I got my first gaming PC, and then I got to know what real gaming is. I haven't deleted my old videos from my channel just because I can store them as memories. Till now, I have played tons of amazing games like Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, The Witcher 3, AC Games, Spider-Man Remastered and Miles Morales, Red Dead Redemption 2, Mafia series, Tomb Raider series, Cyberpunk 2077, Raji: An Ancient Epic, and many more games. It's sad to see that our Indian gaming community is still not at the level of foreign communities. I haven't seen a single PC or console gamer in my college or in real life. Everyone keeps playing Free Fire type games, and I feel left out. Hopefully, we can see a bigger PC/console gaming community in India. 🥹 You've earned a new subscriber.

I have played hundreds (if not thousands) of old console games which came on those cassettes and my dad would also bring me a plethora of games on CDs which I have no idea where they came from. I have easily 5k hours on CS1.6 (that too my dad brought me and it interestingly enough had an installation wizard that installed literal 100s of community made maps) and that too with just BOTS! Bcoz at that time I didn't even knew that multiplayer gaming even existed. I learnt computer myself while trying to run any game (their files would randomly get corrupted). If I say that my struggle has been real, then I really mean it 😂. I have played GTA SA 100% completion multiple times and have explored EACH AND EVERY PIXEL of the map. I am currently in college and playing Counter Strike Condition Zero Deleted Scenes on my rotten potato laptop. (my equally shitty PC's hardisk got corrupted). Ever since I got access to internet and got the knowledge of "how stuff works on the internet" I try to download and play any small size indie game (loved Carrion and Death and Taxes) bcoz I dont have wifi. We did get wifi in lockdown and in that 1 year I played every COD and FarCry that my laptop could run. Recently played Max Payne 1 and 2 as well. I told this Ram Katha just to give you an idea if you can consider me a "true gamer" or not. Indian gaming scene is pathetic, to say the least. But in the foreign, situation isn't much better either. Normies playing games just bcoz an influencer played it or talked about it. Even girls are playing games! Call me sexist if you will, but only 1 girl in one in a million "girl gamers" actually like playing games and not just doing it from pear pressure or bcoz of their love interest. the main problem is Indians' gamers obsession with Gaming PCs. Buying gaming pc if you're on a budget is a complete waste of money. Firstly, gaming pcs get outdated quicker than consoles. Secondly, Video games released these days are not optimized for pc as developers always prioritize Console performance first. A pc with the same capability as a PS5 will cost 3x the price of the console itself and get outperformed by new hardware within the next 3-4 years. The only reason for one to buy a high end gaming pc is if they are filthy rich and care more about experimenting with graphic fidelity of videogames. If you just wanna game and are on a budget then go for the latest console. But then again it's easier to convince your parents to buy a PC than asking them to buy you a Playstation/xbox

I agree with most of the points you've raised, and I'd like to share my perspective on the matter. The gaming community in India is indeed diverse, and gamers in India do play a wide range of games, including FromSoftware titles, as you mentioned. Personally, I own all the FromSoftware games myself, except for DS2 (I had a rough time with that one). Many Indian KZheadrs tend to stick to their comfort zones,and that is true for content creators in other countries as well like Aggy, who primarily focuses on Souls games, occasionally branching out when sponsored, as with Blade Naraka. It's understandable that changing one's content approach isn't easy for everyone, as they risk losing their viewer base. While not everyone needs to become a variety content creator, I do think it would be beneficial for the creators to explore new games within their genre and come up with fresh content ideas. I guess it comes to down to striking a balance between their main content and their new ventures. Also it does help if they do less cringe stuff and maintain an online personaand be relatable. They should treat content creation professionally, even if it's not their primary income source. Regarding the gaming audience in India, it's true that people play a wide range of games, but not all of them actively engage in content creation or showcase their gaming interests. Where can we help out as viewers is encouraging content creators to diversify their content and supporting their efforts to explore new games. It's also alright to let them know that it's totally fine if they are not good at something out of their comfort zone. It's a community after all and learning is part of the process. It's important not to make assumptions about people's financial situations when it comes to gaming. People buy games when the sales come and stuff. They are so many people in the Indian servers I am in who play from csgo to recently starfield also. Whether rich or poor or middle class if the person enjoys gaming even if it simple as playing chess let him play. Those few seconds to few hours even a working person gets to just get out of the world and be someone else is good enough for them. Telling them to just let it go is not fair in my mind. On the topic of game development, creating games involves significant financial decisions, and developers and server maintenance can be costly. Unfortunately, game companies in India prioritize quick profits over creating innovative, high-quality games. I am gonna say for aspiring indie game developers in India, participating in game jams can be a cost-effective way to bring their ideas to life or join discord servers talk with others and try to come with a small team. A good game is way better than a shit AAA game anyday. As for the gaming community, it's thriving in India, the problem - it is somewhat under the radar. There have been instances of supportive indian gaming communities where players help newcomers and help them feel welcomed. However, it's crucial for the community to become more vocal and active to influence content creators, as they influence the mass. In conclusion, the gaming scene in India is alive and well, but it would benefit from greater visibility and enthusiasm. Games are meant for enjoyment, and sharing that enjoyment can only enhance the gaming experience for everyone involved.

Lol I've seen this same issue arising 4-5 years ago when those controversy channels were alive, they used to roast PUBG emulator gamers but in the end nothing happened. The so called Indian big gaming KZheadrs during that time didn't do anything but fueling the whole hate bandwagon. Roasting or attacking the BGMI community won't change anything. Emulator gamers never changed, I guess some of them switched to mobile/tab now but their mentality still remained the same. Also IGC can never fully flourish bcoz the audience here doesn't fully support "gaming" . They only like to watch selective games, mostly BGMI, GTA & Free Fire. Then the streamers in India do not truly love gaming. PC gamers hardly get any views when they stream Valorant or CS. Same reason why game sponsors don't come to India or host any big tournament. HydraFlick, iFlick, grimo, Meow16k these are the few gamers I know who truly like gaming and have represented Indian PC gaming community on global level and won tournaments. I was never a fan of Mobile/emulator gamers. A gamer can be anyone who plays games or likes to play games. That can be professional gamers or normal streamers. But sad truth is in India most of the BGMI streamers didn't even like gaming, they were in it just for the money.

yaar, dil ki baat bol di. I used to watch VanossGaming, jacksepticeye, gameriot & failrace and felt that Indian Gaming KZheadrs are nowhere near them, nowhere. The thing we are obssessed with those four games only and whenever someone bring new to the table, they just say shit on them. I still remember my cousin watching BGMI gameplay whenever I asked him to try any other game, he used to listen to it and then ignore it since there were these BGMI pros. He started watching Carry's live on PUBG and later went to watch the Pro scene in BGMI. So sad to see that people are only stuck to those four games. Right now I am playing Far Cry 4 and it's hella fun. I completed Far Cry 3, Far Cry 5, Max Payne 3. Imagine if I wouldn't have heard about these games and was stuck with BGMI, Minecraft (that I don't love - I played it) & GTA V (story mode is only good in this, rather I prefer GTA IV more). bruh whenever i get time I just scroll through my subscription of XBox game pass even I go to the Epic Game Store for the free games. So sad to see that there is no variety in the IG YTers nowadays

I relate with this so much. I have always tried different genres of games ever since I was a child but one thing I saw with this so called community was the lack in ideas and originality. They all play mine craft, free fire, Gta 5 while copying other foreign creators and sadly, it works. Even my friends would talk only about gta 5 and mine craft. People with consoles only play mine craft or Fortnite which is just sad. I hope people of this country realise video games is so much more than these select few games. People can only name 2 games outside these games. Aside from that, this is my first time watching your vids and they are entertaining, keep up the good work man.

TRUE, Indian game 'streaming' community needs to go through an evolution. I used to watch carry during the covid times because he used to play different games. I love souls game too, Sekiro being my favorite. Even though its rare, we should support Indian made games too like Raji the ancient epic.
I think this is like an endless loop of kids incentivizing money hungry streamers and youtubers to cage their audience into knowing that there exists only 4-5 games. I was watching xyaa a few days ago, I remember when she used to get good watching when she enjoyed playing pubg but then when she left her watching literally dropped to 100 which was honestly really heart breaking to see. Being a fromsoft fan , this hits right at home. I have spent over 3000 hours in all of souls games combined, and have participated in several tournaments - but ik just 3 indian PvPrs that are into it. It doesnt even make any sense, we are the country with most population and there is no one playing actual games. Most people here dont even know what is fromsoft or dark souls - it won game of the century for godsake. low gaming population means we often get connected to EU or NA servers that are laggy to us. No one playing tekken or any other competitive games. Pakistan has a better gaming community with tekken than us. There is no Indian professional gamer. This leads us to watching people from other countries on twitch because indian youtube scene is so garbage.

I think , now that you mentioned it, is the main reason Nintendo hasn't even set foot in India even though Pokemon is so popular, thats why it has to be done so that people can know that goat games like breath of the wild or mario odyssey even exist
that's the problem with Indian audience not Indian gaming community. Its almost same in every field. We Indians don't like change in general, I hosted an event in Delhi for Ubisoft for release of assassins creed black flag the turnaround was so poor that felt like I scammed Ubisoft. I feel like the main reason for this is relatability, all the AAA titles are mostly based upon western culture and western history and the very little content available that showcase Indian content is very low quality. Indian gaming community wont develop anytime in future because investor wont put money on Indian content, Gaming to them is ludo and teen patti. Avg age of our generation of gaming community is also growing and we don't have time to play games. I have a very good gaming pc that I custom built for over 2 lakhs but I don't get time to play games for even 2 hours in a week.
