Making a Katana Holder

I created this katana holder with inspiration from Japanese Shinto Shrines.
I wanted a simple yet minimalistic design to make sure the katana was the main character. Because of this, I decided to go with a flat design to give the sword that extra bit of pop.
I also hope you enjoyed the scene in the beginning!
I'm really happy with this outcome!

    • @@ClarasWoodshop it really looks good but I noticed that your katana is upside down the sharp side of the blade should be facing the top even if is a dull sword to prevent the sword from damaging the saya (sheath). Thank you

  • Lovely craftsmanship, the Katana however is incorrectly displayed. It is upside down. It should be curving downward. I realize that could be a problem because the holders are so low at the bottom. You could display a “Tachi” instead which would be displayed curving upward. Remember, the sword is always displayed on the Katanakake as it would be worn by the Samurai.
