I saw the tutorial pop up and did a double take when I saw the author of the video. I look forward to whatever you do next!

Scp overlord was SICK you need a part 2 my guy it’s so good
This is fucking rad. I already love my 6x7 and giving the glass a new use is going to be awesome.
This is absolutely incredible! Thank you!
it'll be cool if more ppl notice this channel so future projects could be more possible
It's stunning!
these pictures are just ❤❤❤❤
The cinematography is sweet !
Amazing!
Very Very Nice!
I’ve seen your videos and think they’re incredible, but I wanna know where you get your risers and braams from, I can’t seem to find any that match yours?
Given I'll never be able to afford renting an Alexa 65 or IMAX camera, I'll have to try this out once I can afford to do so. I'm curious to how vintage lenses look with the converter too, since I have a few of them
Hi, great video and content! I'm looking for a way to bring this concept to my Mamiya's, especially the 35mm 3.5. I'm already using the Bavayes 0.7x focal reducer. The 35mm has a 77mm front ring and I'm worried to maybe get vignetting with 72mm adapters. What do you think? Would you still recommend the adapters you used or did you test something else that would fit my 35mm with controlled distortion, sharp edges and no macrofocusing needs?
hi.the footages are just out of this world. its so immersive! is there any chance i can get the raw footages? it would be a learning curve for me to color grade these shots. i wont upload it anywhere.
Tampa has never looked so dang beautiful. Awesome content!
Would it also have a similar result if you do this with only a telephoto lens and 0.43x wide angle conversion lens without a focal reducer, instead of using the example you provided (0.8x wide angle lens with 0.7x reducer)? Thanks!
This is really interesting. I watched when it first released. I’m actually hoping you make an apples to apples MF to FF shot comparison video. I can make assumptions about relative scale and compression between, but am still wondering if the difference is minuscule? With anamorphic in most cases you’re working with longer lenses and more compression, but obviously you loose a bit on more min. focusing distance and have a different aspect ratio, but at equal focal lengths/compression is there really that much difference? I don’t know.
amazing scenes
@Evan Could you piont out where the more Optical loss happens, at the Focal Reducer or the Zunow? Thanks
Just found this channel from the scp videos wanted to know if there would be anymore in the near future.
Chroma is cool
You should look into a Kane pixels collab
Are telling me that focal reducers work just like anamorphic adapters just without the bokeh and flares????
Nice info. Thankyou 👍
Happy easter
shut the up they edited it to say "happy easter", it originally said "first"
No one care
But the fact is the only reason that we can make a difference in a min was that we had to go back and the other nations were to the influx that they were going back and they were not be able and they would have to do that to be in a safe environment that we could try and to be able and we will have a good day and we have a great time in a year and the next two years we have a chance of going on and the world if we do it is going on right here for the animations and a lot more to be done by the end than the last day and the next few minutes we have to be able and have the same to do.
Happy Easter
@@TheNewOrder-DaysOfConflict Happy Easter! 🔥
Got a question. Couldnt you get the same framing just by using a wider lens on a FF sensors?
Would love to see a side by side shot of a 50mm FF lens on a FF sensor and you 50mm equivalent on a FF sensors. I am not sure I am understanding what the + are right now except that your footage looks great.
@@olivierlanguedoc If you make composition with identical field of view, medium format would be more bokehious and background would be more compresed- objects in background would be larger.
@@JanSur if you ever do a side by side of a regular 50mm with your 50mm equivalent I am very interested to see it.
Sick. How does this have so few views?
I need overlord part 2 ples
nikon compatible ?
Cwispy
the framerate definitely seemed like limiting your image... lol

Whatever LUT you're using looks weird. maybe try uploading the footage without any LUT added, just the .709 transform so we see what the lens(es) itself only looks like
The people in this video were supposed to be in Heretic but backed out when they found out what an SCP was so they opted to do some model shots with sappy music.
Plot twist: everyone shown in the video are Eta-10 agents after the Heretic operation was cancelled
Hi
why the hell do I think this dude is Harley Morenstein someone help me
another thing i dont understand, cant you get close to the same effect, by zooming in, then physically stepping back? by stepping back you then get "more info" into the same frame given the zoom level doesn't change. and the amount of "extra" you seem to get seems to be equivalent to just stepping back about a half step without changing the zoom levels? like i dont get the idea AT ALL.......maybe, it might be cool to see someone as talented as you making a "film class" for ABSOLUTE NOOBS, it could be a really cool idea...
No, basically long lenses have a wider field of view because the sensor (virtual sensor in this case) is larger, and because of this you get a shallower depth of field with a bigger fov.
@@retrodigital9064 isnt the sensor in the camera, and not the lens?? or is that what you mean by "virtual sensor"?(as in like, its "virtually" made bigger because of how the lens bends light?)
@@retrodigital9064 also, thank you for actually answering my total no0b questions.
@@stapuft the focal reducer is allowing the sensor to see more of the medium format lens' image circle, making the image larger. Couple that with the wide angle adapter in front of the lens and you get a wider fov that brings you closer to a 1:1 image with true medium format. You keep the same characteristics. This would work better if you used a high resolution camera, such as an 8K sensor since medium format is a high resolution format in film. Hope that makes sense, only other thing I can recommend is just looking up how focal reducers work. This is mostly intended for people who are familiar with the tech which I guess is a fault on my part lol
@@retrodigital9064 no no no man, you did great! its a fault on my part, im really into SCP stuff, and i started following you around the release of "overlord" but ive been wanting to get into making videos (im a chef, and want to make a cooking series around my favorite foods) myself, i just dont really know where to start, so when i saw you had posted a video about making videos, i jumped to see what an expert like you had to say, its my fault for jumping into a 301 class with less than the 101 class' worth of info already in my head. and you managed to "dumb it down" enough for me there. you rule man. thank you so much.
İ am new to your channel but a don't have money to buy all them 🥲and I like your videos they are sick.i want to be like you.what i sad i don't have money ,can you do a video about using your phone camera 📷 and get like your videos.sorry my English is not that good bay the way I am using resmi note 10 5g
it seems to me that combined aberrations of all those optics are not really worth it.
You're right, $15,000 a week to rent an IMAX camera with similar characteristics is better.
@@retrodigital9064 the results shown in the video are worse than a native lens. Much cheaper.
@@Kobrar44 While i do agree with you about the presence of aberrations in the showreel, i do think it's still a quality good enough for a KZhead production. With 2 addapters on a lens it was obvious that you'll get some bad looking aberrations, but i'm honeslty not shocked by it.
@@bastienquitte1452 But it makes no sense, he gains nothing from this. This does not somehow magically emulate larger sensor, all he is doing is shortening the focal length with extra elements that degrade the quality. He does not understand what he is doing at all.
I literally did not understand anything. Great video though
🎊 𝓟Ř𝔬𝓂𝔬𝐒ϻ
Again, same amount of misconceptions as your previous video.
Ahh... Where heretic?😭😭😭
These really make no sense at all... why not just use a shorter focal length to begin with? I don't really get what you are trying to achieve here.
The field of view of a wider focal length with the characteristics of longer lenses?
this guy fell off so hard
i STILL do not understand why ANYONE would WILLINGLY choose an aspect ratio that doesnt match with what the majority of the world uses to watch things on. 16x9 is the standard now days, any other format, and you get ugly ass black bars and end up being able to see LESS of your screen filled, and therefore see LESS of the movie, not "more" as people claim.
To me it's used to add to the feel of a video, and when done properly can look incredible.(check out the lighthouse)
@@therealkhaner do you know who made it, or what type of film it is, that would help narrow down my search.
@@stapuft its the first thing that pops up on imdb but Robert Eggers.
@@Kobrar44 see i didnt even think about that, i thought IMDB was only for "bigger" films, i was just using google lol :P thank you so much, ill check it out.
4:3 can be used to make a frame feel far more intimate, or even claustrophobic, which is why it works well in The Lighthouse. Wider aspect ratios can feel more sprawling and can capture more background to make a frame feel much larger and epic. CinemaScope is often the standard format for blockbusters because of this, but you can see even wider examples in the original Ben-Hur. 16:9, while balanced, can sometimes have drawbacks and may not feel right for your film at all. At the end of the day it’s about how you feel it is most functional to frame your movie and it’s subjects. Aspect ratio is always an artistic choice, if you cannot unsee the black bars idk what to tell you, man.
I have a request. Please tone down the unnecessary swearing in future projects. It gets annoying hearing them say fuck, or shit, in every sentence.
No.
