  • This is so stupid, AZ was playing with more than 2000 cores and stockfish was using a quad core cpu. Mismatch of the century! This man's voice is very grating, he should get a job of dispersing riots...

    • @@Gingnose if we get very philosophical one may argue logic is formed from experience.

      @MrCrackheadst@MrCrackheadst Жыл бұрын
    • @@MrCrackheadst Quite interesting point! When we think about purest logic as a math, fundamental mathematical theories (e.g. Principia Mathematica) seem to have no room for assumption other than axiom. And the axiom is the only thing that can we assume but as seeing math working surprisingly well in this universe, at least there should be a logic which comes before experience, in other word "a priori" knowledge. But if we think about the other universe, I have no slightest idea what logic will be like lol Talking about these chess machines, what was unique about AZ was there was no input at first other than win = 1, lose = 0, still abled to be the strongest chess machine at that time. And AZ played very intuitively imo, it looked like a creative human player than any other chess machines, this i think partially suggest that experience is very useful in terms of your reduction of calculation. If humans were 100% calculation logic based animals, we might got extinct because each time we faced the complex situation, the brain stops and need to calculate lol. So, experience is the shortcutting method of the otherwise lengthy calculation, and extrapolating the solution based on previous experience. AZ only needed experience (win or lose input) to derive the winning strategy/ tactics to beat the stockfish. But after stockfish using the same architecture of NNUE grounded on the previous data, there was no competition for AZ to hold the crown.
