  • Is there an easier solution to moving the matrix portal off of the display? I bought the adafruit kit ADABOX 016 and it has a ribbon cable but both ends are female. Can I just use a male to male 2x10 IDC adapter?

  • Nice, subscribed! Any idea if this also works with the ESP32-Trinity?

  • Tidbyt is doing some aggressive marketing, and “can I build this myself?” is a pretty natural reaction to their ads. I have a feeling this video’s gonna draw some attention to your channel.

  • Hey would you be able to help me accomplish this using a Rasberry pi zero w and the adafruit rgb matrix bonnet?

  • Very informative. Do you have a link for the 20-pin extension cable? I cannot find this thing anywhere. Only 2x20 40-pin seem to be readily available. Thanks again. And thanks in advance!

  • The 2MB on the pico is a lot which leads me to believe that this can probably be ported to c to save the space and use the pico. Then again, the esp32 is also really really cheap for how powerful it is

  • Thanks for the video, I have an ESP32 board with 64x64 screen. My project would be to display my child's blood sugar result, the data is on a local web server. Can you help me please ? The first part with CircuitPython is simple but I don't know what to do next to create my own coding? Thanks

  • Where can I just get that back connector? I can't find it anywhere. I have a bunch of those displays. I just want that back piece that quick connects the esp32

    • If I'm thinking of the right cable, I think it's called a 2x8 IDC 16 pin which can be found here: amzn.to/427LKdq I haven't tested those so I can't be sure, but that should get you close. However, if you're talking about the power cable, that you can get directly from Adafruit for a couple bucks. Hope that helps!

  • Looks cool, but just to clarify you can’t have this version display baseball games scores and football game scores live correct?

    @wolfeburton@wolfeburton Жыл бұрын
    • Thanks! So you totally can, but you’ll have to write the code for that yourself. Won’t be difficult at all, but won’t be as automatic as the real TidByt display. Hope that helps!

  • This is really cool! Thanks for taking the time to share this build. I really want something like this to report weather. I’m not very talented at coding. Is anyone is sharing/selling their codes for custom apps? Can I have chatgpt write the code?

  • Certainly cool, but too limited in functionality for that much of a hassle. For not that much more you can just buy one. It will be better too.

  • Half the $200 price is like two times too much. An obsolete tablet for $50 looks way better, or is having a grainy cheap looking 90's display the 'in thing' now like a gameboy instead of your phone?
