    • He bases his work on cheap assets other people own, 3d scans that have no real geometry and functionality and AI generated content that you actually wouldn't have the rights to use in a game. Rockstar hires people who have a lot of professional experience creating their own original concepts and games and the resume to go with it, not just using rockstar's content and concepts. And it probably doesn't help that he's connected so well to social media, they probably want people who are more secretive with their work not a youtuber with a big GTA following. This guy is a fan artist to rockstar and I'm sure value him for that.

    • I can explain it to you very easily. This one guy makes graphics that look so good, right? Imagine what he would do with a team of people he could guide. Produce something pretty great right? Greater then what the current leadership team at Rockstar could do if they had equal numbers of people? Highly likely IMO. Now, who does the hiring over at Rockstar? There's a specific team his skills would land him on, who would make the hiring decisions for that team? Oh the same leadership team that he would immediately outshine? I think now you will understand how polluted and toxic corporate America is and why so many companies suck, people protecting their shitty asses. The best thing a young man can do is find a company that values his skills, and stay and learn with a another older man who can teach him how to deal with people.

That's how I started and what led me to work as a technical artist in the end. Keep doing what you do, but stop thinking about Rockstar if you're considering it right now. Even if you were extremely good, companies like this won't hire you without any previous experience. Besides, making games is much different than this. To even be able to throw any assets in the level, you need to know how streaming works, what drawcalls are, PBR rendering, etc. Anyway, I really like your excitement about what you do, and I think it will lead you somewhere in the end. Good luck!

I don't see It as something necessary bad, actually I think it's motivating and helpful in his journey. • Unfortunately this video is greatly misleading, and has nothing to do with in-game art. I would actually call it purposely deceitful and actually harming to legit game artist :/ You cant compare a movie render or cinematic and say look how much better this look than this video game... As a cinematic, this is poor/mediocre visuals and animation (by cinematic standards) think any special effect movie you like.. Its not to hate, but If he wants to work in cinematics, thats great, but word it as that, and compare it to other cinematics to get fair criticism or praise....But by calling it a remaster, or anything game related, is purely misleading, and to attract people who may not know or care the difference. This is the WORST way to have ANY game company take you seriously..Not just by rockstar, but anyone. It hurts the industry, hurts expectations put on actual game art, hurts everyone but this content creator. Unless hes actually trying to get hired by a game company, then its hurting him too

GTA IV is still one the best GTA Games in my opinion, and to see this game receive some recognition and respect until now truly brings a smile to my face. Liberty City is one of the most perfect GTA maps for exploring a real life city. I've never experienced a whole map that felt so real and alive as GTA IV's, being an almost accurate replica of New York City, and Rockstar is just good at making one city seem so much bigger than it really is, it's actually the most realistic map in terms of the vibe and feel of the atmosphere. I honestly had way more fun spending time around the map than I ever thought I would after playing in Vice City and Los Santos. Truly my most favorite GTA map.

Sure realism looks different anywhere else. A sunny technology center like San Francisco sure looks more colorful and brighter than a gothic european city like say Berlin, Paris or Rome. But Rockstar doesn't have a discernible art style. If you compare GTA V with for example Watch Dogs 2, mostly everyone will say both look very realistic and do a great at capturing the cities as playable maps.

    • It's like a hybrid realsim that I can't describe, it looks good without trying to hard. When you see these "remakes" or "gta 6 concept" videos people always use ultra reflective cars or ultra detailed props and texures that end up looking cheap and tacky, the "unreal engine" look. The GTA definitive edition is a perfect example of this, the game lost it's artstyle with the "improvements" they made, reflective cars in cartoony world - it conflicts.

    • @@TobyM. even tho gta 5 was beautiful, i dont think we've gotten a true photorealstic game yet. gta 4 looked more "real" to me than gta 5 because the dim depressing new york atmosphere is easier to pull off rather the the bright los angeles look. but rockstar is like pixar in a way where every project they put together is a major push to what everyone thought was possible in video games so gta 6 might be able to pull it off.

    • @@Holloaway well thats the thing, there is a big difference between watchdog2 and gta5 and that difference is what makes a good artstyle

  • When making a gta game make sure to recognize your position has a youtuber making a soulless recreation of something your doing just cause popular culture is the reason why rockstar wouldn't hire you
