When Owl leaves you to the Emma and Isshin fight, he actually goes and assassinates Genichiro. Genichiro collected the black mortal blade in an attempt to forcefully use Kuro’s blood, and that blade is the one that owl is holding when he returns. What he places on the ground is Genichiro’s head

Fun fact: In the cutscene where owl congratulates you on beating Isshin, he comes back with Genichiro’s head (although out of cutscene frame) and his black mortal blade. There’s even a squishy sound when he gets on his knee; it’s him dropping Genichiro’s head on the ground. 14:19

Of all the series that Jev does, I love the Souls and Soulslike series he does. I don't play the games myself and to watch someone else do it is very fun for me. It also helps that he seems to be enjoying them as well.

jev a tip for your next playthrough is when your on the part where you go back to ashina castle and go to owl for the lone shadow vilehand mini boss i recommend sneaking up to the other purple guy and use puppeteer ninjutsu as it makes the boss fight easier

Good shit on beating the game, jev! I always thought the shura endings isshin fight was matched pretty well to the "true ending" version. But u gotta do new game plus with this run man. Youll have the shura skin as well as the one mind combat art. Please man. It shouldnt take too long to get back to this point and choose to break the iron code, we just wanna see you enjoy the game some more lol.

Jev on your other playthrough, there's a collection box next to the undying samurai at the dilapidated temple. This collection box will have certain key items in it if you missed your chance to get them during your playthrough. You should check it to see if you can still get the umbrella or any other prosthetics that you may have missed.

Please do another playthrough 🙏🏻. This series motivated me to go back and beat the game as well and I just got to Fountainhead Palace yesterday. Gotta see those true corrupted monk and owl fights.

To anyone saying it's time for Lies Of P, not it's not. He's still has bosses to fight. Demon Of Hatred, Isshin The Sword Saint, Owl Father (gonna assume you didn't find this boss in your first playthrough Jev), and the Inner versions of Genichiro, Owl Father, and Isshin The Sword Saint. Only then can he say he's beaten the game and all of it's bosses.

Hey Jev a cool detail about the ending you got, When owl returns after defeating Isshin he places an object down off screen, that object is Genichiros head. While you were fighting Isshin, owl went and killed Genichiro to steal a sword called the black mortal blade, the same mortal blade that ressurects Prime Isshin for the final fight of the other ending.
Old man Isshin’s second phase is like Yamamoto’s bankai lmao

This ending is so cool. When owl leaves sekiro to fight old man isshin, he left to go kill Geni and when he kneels down next to Isshin he puts Geni’s severed head next to him. People modded the game to do a free camera during the cut scene and that’s what they found

id like to see you try all the different gauntlets of strength, completing each one rewards you with a different outfit for Sekiro. + try upgrading your shinobi tools as the shield has fire and terror counter attack upgrades and you can have longer duration firecrackers.

@Retr0Duck lol fr. i hope jev goes and finishes it. honestly what i really wanted was i wanted to see his boss fights without the edits. i dont think hes cheating or cheesing or anything i just want to see what his real pace was. when i play these games my goal is to keep the pace up as much as possible no frequent resets to restore posture.
I'm not sure what you're on because Lies of P is much easier, I did it in 2 days and only a couple of the bosses were actually hard

You can use umbrella to deflect grab attacks btw, use it for next gameplay somewhere. Edit:Get other umbrellas too. Red one for fire attacks and purple one for terror attacks. You can hold down umbrella prosthetic tool and press L1 for extra defence as long as you have spirit emblems. At the end of the attacks while you hold down prosthetic button, press R1 to use umbrella attack.

I accidentally got the shura ending i didnt know but i had the same feeling as you Jev. Finally beat sekiro one way or another after like 3 years of putting it aside to play other games i had to go back and fully play it through

Jev you should try the Ascended sekiro mod, it's a passionately made mod to take all of sekiro mechanics to its fullest (if you want variety) it's a very difficult mod but balanced. It also adds a bunch of new content which makes it feel like a whole new game or what Sekiro's potential could be. 10/10 playthrough and would love to see u explore more!
upgrading your prosthetics offers you more uses to your tools you currently have, like firecrackers can be slightly more powerful to posture, but has a delay before it goes off shields have fire or terror immunity and can counterattack with the element you blocked you can straight up axe someone with fire you can throw coins instead of shurikens which deals slightly more posture damage forgot what sabimaru did other than you can chain it well with your attacks and poison enemies

Idk if people have mentioned this yet but by holding the parry button you can recover your posture much faster, just a nifty tip for the boss gauntlet you're about to go through
Jev when you are fighting emma and isshin, and owl “leaves the fight to you” he actually leaves and assasinates genichiro to get the 2nd mortal blade. In the shura cutscene you can see owl place something on the floor out of frame. The thing he placed down was genichiro’s severed head
Puppeteer ninjutsu works very well in that dual elite longshadow swordsmen fight

I did this ending too by accident on my first playthrough but then I went through ng+ and ng+2 to get the other ones and it was worth it because you miss out on so much if you do shura ending.
Go to your other save and attain the "purification" ending which will allow you to fight one of the best bosses in the game alongside the main final bosses aswell. If you dont pursue the purification ending you cant fight 'Owl Father'
Idk about others but I'd love to see Jev play sifu its definitely a lot shorter than these games but the combat is genuinely so fluid and I think he have fun and rage a little bit

To block fire attacks you need to upgrade the shield to the fire version, if you’re going to kill Demon of Hatred you’re gonna need that as well as the shield attack skill.
If you upgrade your tools like the firecrackers will pop faster or the umbrella shield will block fire or terror. It’s really cool!
beating this game 10x i think the ending you got is one of my favorites especially when u get to unlock the shura outfit
You should do a play through charmless, just makes it to where you take damage on regular blocks, so it teaches you to perfect parry everytime.
I haven't even played this game, but I have seen what the other ending is through friends and I need you to play it, Jev. You won't regret it!
Jev, you can't do Isshin's full fight in reflection of strength because it segregates parts of it. The emma/ isshin fight would of been 2 separate fights in the reflection of strength AND you can't see the cutscenes. I'm under the impression you are fighting them fresh because you haven't beaten them yet but its worth mentioning
Hi Jev! Idk if you remember, but there was a bell that you could ring from a few episodes ago! It changes the game to hard mode and the bosses have different moves! Try it if you have time!
