Sweaty and heavy?
That is when the textile works at its best. Researchers at Chalmers University of Technology have developed a fabric that converts kinetic energy into electric power, in cooperation with the Swedish School of Textiles in Borås and the research institute Swerea IVF. The greater the load applied to the textile and the wetter it becomes the more electricity it generates. The results have now been published in the Nature Partner journal Flexible Electronics.

  • When I was a University student(2015-2018) exactly thought the same idea but could not work due to lacking of research facilities, but now glad to know it has already started to work with this concept. I wish ,someday I will participate with this types of project.

  • Please use it in passenger buses and metros, where people have to stand holding some support hanging from the inbuilt frame into the coach. As these things are stretched both while accelerating and braking.

  • This has already been created by using silicon thread weaved into cloth. It can be mounted or waxed depending on the weather conditions. 🕉🔺➕

  • What on earth was the producer of this video thinking by making the soundtrack so loud? When turned down to a comfortable level, the speech becomes inaudible, one has to keep a hand on the volume control all of the time. It is just a bit of library music not your latest pop tune!!

  • how would you record the electricity coming from the textile? I'd like to know if that is possible to record signals coming from many points on the surface of a glove (for example) when fingers are moving.

    • The piezoelectric fibres can be connected to conventional electronics, for example an Arduino-module, where the generated signal can be used as input. kzhead.info/sun/irWQXcinmXhuaIU/bejne.html

  • I HAD A VERY SIMILAR IDEA BUT WITH TARPS WHERE TENTS COULD BE OUT IN FREEZING TEMPERATURES BUT KEEP WARM INSIDE BY A SMALL ELECTRIC HEATER. THE ONLY DRAWBACK IS IF THOSE MATERIALS OR TARPS DON'T INCORPORATE STRONG ENOUGH ELECTRICAL POWER TO RUN ANYTHING!!!

So please share the information , how we can electrocute fabric ?? Which fabric can be used to electroceute friendly ?? Your information will be vital for us to flight against corona.

  • The weave of two elements creating charge is a old method. The openly down side is to polarise the one of the weave patterns making it quite expensive at present. Fabric technology has already achieved invisibility. Self powering micro friction kinetic energy pulse. Short to Micro Friction Kinetic Pulse.
