  • Legally Blonde is one of my favorite movies because it defied so many film stereotypes of the time. Elle’s sorority supported Elle’s decision and helped her get into Harvard. Elle was gorgeous and though a little naive, she was still kind to those around her and smart in her own way. Finally she never compromised her female friendships or personality to further her career which ultimately leads to her success. Also need I say that Elle got into Harvard ON HER OWN and Warner had to BUY his way in.

    @ethanahmu6149@ethanahmu61492 жыл бұрын
    • This!!! All of this. I cringed a bit when they called Elle shallow and vapid, because I feel like she was anything but that. She had so much substance to offer beneath the surface of what others saw in her, and like you said, did everything with her own flavor and flair. It was never that Elle “became” smart, she was ALWAYS smart. She was just given the opportunity to apply her intelligence and work ethic towards studying law after fashion. I’ve read so many reddit threads that have said that if Elle were a real person, with the resume that she had AND a near perfect LSAT score, she very much could have actually gotten into Harvard.

I can guarantee that there are plenty of vapid snoozefests that are in law school. If you meant vacuous, she clearly scored well, so she can't be that dumb. And if you meant vain, it's an often well-paid (albeit difficult) career, of course there will be law students who are vain.

    • This was about a month ago, but I believe I pointed out that while I understand it’s a silly movie, someone who sent a video like hers to Harvard (or who generally prioritized the things she does as a character in the movie) would probably not go to (or be accepted into) law school. You’d understand if you knew the mindset and years of preparation it takes. Then, in another comment, I explained the amount of work it took me to get into law school (and it certainly wasn’t Harvard). There are varied people in law school. A lot of serious minded people, yes, but also what I’d consider an average personality (smart, but a little chill too), and then there are a handful of outgoing, extroverted, and fun people. You’re being a little aggressive about my saying how much hard work it took to get into law school and that the movie is silly. I’m going to go ahead and stand by all of the elements of that statement. That being said, I do love the movie. I believe that I can quote myself in a prior comment on this thread as saying “adorable premise, but unrealistic”, or something to that affect… So what exactly are you going on about?
