His WIFE PASSED AWAY So We COMPLETELY TRANSFORMED This Yard FOR FREE!!
This gentleman reached out to me for help after losing his wife recently to cancer. He has been transitioning through that and wants to sell the house but it needs some major tlc so we helped him out. In the front we are trimming all the bushes and cleaning up a corner garden area with some left over mulch he already had. We will continue to the back bushes around the house and this is where I had to call in back up. My buddy Luis is gonna help me clear this crazy fence line which is covered in Ivy. I kid you not, we spent hours on this part so you don’t wanna miss the before and after photos of this area. It will blow your mind. Yeah... especially these days. It's heartening to see young guys wanting to do something and help out instead of sitting around lazy, on their cellphones all day long... then complaining and whining when they actually have to go get THEMSELVES something to drink or other such tiring duties. "It's just so hard!" 😛 Then they grow up entitlement-minded, expecting everything to be handed to them, and extremely rude and troubled at the same time. This guy has a gold mine for kids... and I mean TRULY rare these days. They are truly a blessing of God, and will no doubt grow up to be responsible, useful, productive, and lead fulfilled lives... apparently like their Dad! This is what happens when children are nurtured, taught, loved, and shown the things that are most important in life.

This was no easy task. Ivy is so invasive and all the saplings that spring up. All of you worked so hard. I know these young men will look back and realize the importance of what they have done. This transformation not only gave this grieving gentleman some much needed help, but also taught your sons the value of lending a helping hand. The help they give today will be paid back abundantly in the future. It may not happen during their lifetime, but definitely will be rewarded in heaven. So nice to see your sons doing outside work rather than being cooped up inside playing mindless video games. I'm not against all of them. Some of them, played in moderation, are okay. But a large quantity aren't. Great job on the cleanup.

Spectacular transformation! How old are your boys? I started my two boys in their lawn care service when they were ten and twelve. It made their spending money through high school and then helped pay for some of their college expenses. I kept the business going as a second income until I gave it up last year. I have noticed with the boys that as their experience increases, the amount they contribute varies. Also the different 'machinery' they use changes also. Yes, definitely. Each job varies. There was also quite a bit of poison ivy on the back side of the fence so I made sure they stayed on the outside of the fence for safety. I try to teach them and train them correctly and so far so good!

I think ivy is “the devils plant”! It will definitely take over everything quickly! A neighbor across the street fad it completely covering her front yard.. when she passed away, before they could sell the house someone went in and completely removed every trace of ivy. The yard looks so nice now…Good job!

I love seeing your boys out working with you! When I was about 12, my dad would take myself and my 3 brothers out doing yard work for a bunch of his friends….mowing, trimming etc…and this was in the ‘70’s. It’s how we earned spending money, and taught us a good work ethic.

Nice pick in helping someone with the overall illness, grieving and change process. Liked your plans to make the home "sale ready". (It may not have been the best thing for the iris, mowing them down, but the utility company will appreciate your "nothing around the gas meter" approach.) The boys did well spreading the new mulch. Hauling branches and raking were also good backup help. A clean fence line, after reaching a disaster level condition, seems to be a result of "by any means possible" and sheer determination. Glad you called in your friend, Luis, and you did reach a miracle level of recovery on the fence line and overgrown areas. Your boys are among some of the few in the process of experiencing that things can get out of hand but can also be brought back to normal. I don't know if you have friends in the area who would power wash the paving, but Cabin on the Hill, The Lawn Care Juggernaut and perhaps SB Mowing might show up to help.

Lol, the Iris being weed walked down made me sorta sad. I grew up with grandparents who hiberdized and created new variations of Iris, so that plant holds special place in most my families heart. Luckily they are pretty hardy, so as long as the rhizome isn’t too damaged, it should regrow. Looked like some tall bearded variety.
