Honestly, I would say he had more impact on the premier league than Ferguson as other clubs tried to emulate his approach. Case in point: Liverpool hired another a Frenchman shortly after.

    • It just wasn’t the right time, he’d have left anyway with the lack of playing time given that our midfield was full of world class players at that time. Like who would you have given up in that team to play Yaya if he did sign? Gilberto and Vieira were both monsters in their position, teenage fabregas was on the rise and getting lots of attention.

  • Much better player than he is a manager lol. The biggest compliment you can pay Kolo is there was no "Tony Adams" shadow because of him. There was a Patrick Vieira shadow looming over Arsenal for ages, a player that they never managed to truly replace (although a lot of that is due to Diaby's injuries) whereas Tony Adams was more than adequately replaced by Toure as the rock of the defence besides Campbell.

  • My friend works for arsenal. I won’t say in what capacity but he told me the only reason Arsenal signed kolo was because of yaya. Yaya toure was the player they wanted but once on trial he didn’t cut the mustard at that time.
