Guys, guys, guys who lived at Udorn RTAFB. Only you know. Where was the Bamboo Bar? Where were The Champagne Rooms? I live in Udon Thani today. I am searching for these places. It ain't easy because the place has changed so much BUT guess what.......the revetments for the F4-D's, they are still there! Seen by me every time I thunder down the Udon Thani International Airport runway.
Aug 1967. - Aug 1968. Radar, Inertial navigation, altimeters on RF4Cs, and F4Cs.
I'm in this video somewhere. I was a K9 handler about halfway down the runway. I walked my dog to just off the edge of the runway and had my own private airshow!
Welcome Home! Do you remember Robert Oliver who was a K-9 handler same time frame as you? Also what was your K-9 name, thanks Defender!

Was stationed at Udorn RTAFB June 74 thru June 75 432nd Security Police Squadron-Tiger Flight-Bravo Sector and Night Reconnaissance Det.5 40th Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Squadron. Never met such and outstanding group of airmen, aircrews and maintainers. Definitely the "Home of the Hunters!" Tradition carried on this day at Creech AFB "Hunters!"
I was there, last guys left in the shop, packed it up for Hill AFB.
We might just have to return there in the near future.
I was there watching them leave with bags of gold for as little as 20 dollars an ounch.
